Formation of Work Committee for Legislative Cooperation 1. In accord with the provisions of the Constitution, Legislatures are responsible to implement the procedures of holding discussions and passing a bill starting from the day of receipt and sending it to the President for approval and to be promulgated as law. In accord with the power vested by the Constitution, the President is responsible to sign a bill approved or a bill deemed to be approved by the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw. Legislatures and the President with similar wishes are carrying out enacting, amending and abolishing the laws for the sake of the nation and its people. 2. In order to cooperate with legislatures in the legislative procedures, a work committee for legislative cooperation led by the Deputy Attorney-General has been formed as follow:(a) U Tun Tun Oo Chairman Deputy Attorney-General, Attorney-General Office of the Union (b) Daw Htoo Htoo Ngwe Member Director, Attorney-General Office of the Union (See page 9)

Later, Union Minister for Culture U Aye Myint Kyu explained the purpose of holding the music fair and promoting ASEANJapan relations. Afterwards, artistes from ASEAN and Japan and Fine Arts Department
entertained with their traditional dances and songs. Vice-President Dr Sai Mauk Kham and the Japanese Ambassador presented flower baskets to the music troupes. The music fair was jointly organized by Japanese Embassy, Japan Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of Myanmar. Ms Michiru Oshima from Japan acted as a music director
of the troupe including 12 musicians from Myanmar, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. It aimed to promote mutual trusts and relations between ASEAN and Japan through creation of new music and to spotlight the traditional music of these countries. It was also attended by the Union Ministers, deputy ministers, MPs from
Pyithu Hluttaw and Amyotha Hluttaw, departmental heads, staff and their families from the ministries and the Hluttaw Office and the Brunei Ambassador to Myanmar.—MNA
