We have an exciting opening at our new Connaught Special School for a driven, ambitious and customer focused School Operations Manager.

As one of the first administrative support staff employed at the new school you will play a key role in working with the Head of School and senior leaders to shape the excellent administrative function that will support staff, pupils and parents.

Initially the Connaught school will open at a temporary site at Upton Cross Primary School (Kirton Road site) whilst the permanent site is constructed at its new home on Royal Road (a short walk from the Prince Regent DLR station) during the 2023/24 academic year.

Our ideal candidate will be naturally organised, able to use their initiative but also know when it is best to work collaboratively. You may already have the advantage of knowing how to use the Google Drive and Google tools to best effect, however if you don’t, a key skill will be your ability to transfer your existing practice from other systems and to develop your knowledge of the applications that you will need to use in the role on a day to day basis.

The job description outlines the spheres of administrative and leadership responsibility that the School Operations Manager will have (general Office Administration, Premises and H&S administration, and a core role in ensuring that ‘front of house’ services are professional and meet the needs of all visitors and parents). The post holder will receive support and guidance from our central support teams in all aspects of the role. Together we will ensure that a highly organised administrative function focuses on the right areas at the right time, enabling the Connaught Special School’s senior leadership team to focus on delivering excellent education to our pupils.

The role will be full time, 52 weeks per year and 36 hours per week.

About the Role

We seek to appoint an ambitious, enthusiastic and highly motivated Teacher of Physical Education. The successful applicant will be a PE specialist, though the ability to teach Dance as an additional subject is desirable.

The vital importance of Physical Education is recognised and celebrated by the school. All students take core PE through to the end of Year 11. In addition, a significant number of Lower School students are able to study specialised Sports or Dance as part of their mainstream curriculum. PE, Dance and Sports Studies are all popular options in Key Stage 4.

The department is well-resourced, with access to excellent facilities (thanks to considerable recent financial investment). On the main school site we have a large Sports Hall, a Gymnasium, and a Fitness Suite, as well as outdoor basketball, netball and tennis courts, and batting nets.
