MESSAGE FROM THE CONVENTION CHAIR Welcome to the 2016 Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants (BAR) at NRA Show® and the 97th annual National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show.® Just like your customers’ taste preferences, BAR is evolving. Last year, we unveiled a rebrand of this event, which included a new name and new event space, as 2015 was the first time that BAR shared space along side the NRA Show. With NRA Show expanding into Lakeside Center and BAR moving to Lakeside Ballroom, these two events melded into one overall experience. This year, we’re doubling down on our dedication to the beverage alcohol space by engaging with key industry stakeholders to craft a robust education program focusing on the most pressing issues and exciting emerging trends in the beverage alcohol segment. I am pleased to welcome Billy Dec, CEO/Founder of Rockit Ranch Productions, as the 2016 BAR at NRA Show Keynote Presentation speaker. He’s an industry leader in crafting wildly successful concepts and bar programs that defy the traditional lifecycle of most on-trend bars, clubs, and restaurants. We’ve enhanced the exhibit floor with the addition of Main Stage, which will be the hub of interactive demos, key education sessions, and our annual Star of the Bar® mixology competition. Six mixologists from around the country will vie for the title—and a $5,000 cash prize. And, of course, your BAR at NRA Show badge includes full access to all four days of NRA Show, opening up a whole new world of opportunity amidst the more than 2,000 exhibitors and over 63,000 attendees. No matter where you look, you’re bound to find the inspiration you need to push your bar program—and profits—upward and onward. Cheers!

Lisa Ingram. 2016 NRA Convention Chair President & CEO White Castle System, Inc.

And the only full suite of restaurant training programs, created by industry experts. Did we also mention the first online food safety eCertificates in-market? So, yes, there’s a difference. As you know, safety in food and alcohol service is not something you want to “kinda” do. So trust the programs that over 80% of restaurants use: ServSafe. Trust First.

Make sure to stop by the ServSafe Booth (#9136) located in the Lakeside Center and the ServSafe Lounge in BAR! NEW IN 2016!

MAIN STAGE AT

BEVERAGE ALCOHOL

FOR RESTAURANTS

Flash and flair are part of the bar scene, and we’ve added a brand new stage to bring that to life in a big way at BAR 16. Watch master mixologists shake up exciting new cocktails and learn the secrets behind their skills. Enjoy education with a splash of entertainment when industry heavy hitters take the stage to lead education sessions built around hot topics in the industry. And, of course, cheer on top bartenders from across the country as they vie for the title of Star of the Bar—and a $5,000 cash prize.

You’ll find all that and more at the new Main Stage. See pages 8-9 inside this guide for more details.
