Venue: Coddington Cove off Whipple Avenue Naval Station Newport k

Distance: 1/3-mile swim • 10.5-mile bike • 3.1-mile run k

Timing: Finish Right Timing Race Description: The 1/3-mile salt water swim is set in a sheltered, shallow and clear water cove with an incredible view of the decommissioned Navy aircraft carrier the USS Saratoga. After the swim head to a large transition area and proceed to a 10.5-mile bike ride on and off the naval station property following along Narragansett Bay. The final part of the challenge is a 3.1-mile run through Naval Station Newport complex. k

Entry Fees: Active duty personnel, eligible family members, retirees & reservists: $35; DoD civilians: $50; General public & contractors: $65; Two/three member teams: $80 k

To receive an event T-shirt patrons must be registered by Thursday, July 17. After Thursday, July 17 registrations costs go up $10 each.

The Thrift Savings Plan open season begins on April 15 and ends June 30. Come to the Fleet and Family Support Center and learn the basics of this defined contribution plan and learn how to plan for your future. 4th – FFSC closed for Independence Day 8th – Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), 1000-1130 TSP is a retirement savings and investment plan sponsored by the federal government which makes it easy to put "paying-yourself-first" on autopilot. It can provide retirement income in addition to your military pension and Social Security, helping to build financial stability and independence at retirement. This class is intended to familiarize participants with this excellent opportunity to accrue additional personal retirement savings over the period of their military career. It is designed to provide detailed information on the TSP and to help learners understand how TSP can contribute to financial security during retirement.

23rd – Communication: We Can Work It Out, 1430-1530 Repeated and unsuccessful attempts to solve recurring problems with our partners wears us down. This workshop identifies factors which get in the way of legitimate problem-solving and introduces skills that can move us beyond our 'stuck' spots toward real, collaborative problemresolution. 24th – Resumes That Work, 1400-1600 A resume is one of your most important tools when looking for a job. Learn how to prepare an effective resume that will get you an interview. This workshop will cover what to include on your resume, which format to use, and other resume writing tips.

15th – Smooth Move, 0930-1100 Ease the stress and frustration associated with the relocation of military families by attending this workshop. 17th – Stress Management, 1430-1530 We all need some stress in our lives to help us flourish and grow. Finding the right balance between too much and too little stress is essential. Learn techniques to effectively navigate stress, relax, and stay balanced. 22nd – Develop Your Spending Plan, 1400-1530 Class includes - setting goals that are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Action-Oriented, Realistic, and Timely); learn to distinguish between net, gross, and disposable income; learn how to complete a financial planning worksheet consisting of calculations of net worth, monthly income, monthly savings and living expenses, indebtedness and debt-to-income ratio; we also look at options to increase income, decrease expenses and decrease indebtedness. Please bring your personal laptop, with Microsoft Excel Software, so you can work on your spending plan.
