2012
en years have passed since we first came up with the idea to start making quality bicycle parts. Ten years is a good round number to celebrate. So... let’s recap. It’s been an amazing journey - hard work but always exciting. We dare to say that in this relatively short period of time we have become one of the biggest brands in the dirt bike scene. We’ve had two of the biggest names on the Freeride Mountain Bike Tour on our team - Martin Soderström and Sam Pilgrim. Our frames have been on the podiums more often than any other brands. The Majesty has been chosen as one of the 100 best products of the year for two years in a row in the the prestigious Dirt Magazine. And now with the launch of our Soda full suspension frames this year we went full circle, back to our roots that have always been planted in freeriding. It’s true that NS gained most of it’s popularity on the rising wave of the dirt / street scene and many people may not remember - but our first products were actually freeride components. And since the beginning till this day, the whole NS crew have always been riding “real” mountain bikes apart from their NS hardtails, so this new direction of development is perfectly natural for us. So, the champagne is in the fridge, time to dress up and join our party at 9 pm. Let’s celebrate! NS Bikes Crew

Easy to change the travel of the bike: a/177mm long travel for FR and mini DH b/152mm short travel for long trips, jumps and bike parks
he one-bike solution for gravity orientated riders. The Soda is a compact freeride / bike park frame, and depending on build and setup, it will be at home on dirt jumps, bike parks, DH runs and still it can be pedalled quite efficiently uphill. Adjustable chainstays (417mm - 433mm) in conjunction with adjustable travel (152mm - 177mm) allows for dramatic changes of the bike’s character. This bike is exceptionally nimble and manoeuvrable in short travel and short chainstay mode (note: chainstays are VERY short in this position, much shorter than most bikes on the market), and still stable at high speeds in long travel with long chainstays. The frame is also very torsionally stiff - not only can it handle all rotational tricks but it also feels great in fast corners where you can often feel other frames exing. We are used to seeing smiles on faces of our dirt jumpers who love the manoeuvrability of the Soda, but what really means a lot to us is that more traditional big mountain freeriders and downhillers were amazed by what this frame can do. We used a custom tubeset developed specially for this frame, to achieve the best performance, durability and aesthetics.
Comes with an option of air shock or spring shock.
10mm bolt-on or 12mm Maxle. Rock Shox Maxle included with the frame.
Silver blue is the second colour option.
6
Headsets for 1 1/8 steer tubes and tapered steer tubes included with the frame.
Fully CNC machined throughout, each element optimised for weight and rigidity.
You won’t find any ugly external gussets on the Soda. We blended in an array of beautifully cnc’d parts, each one optimized for weight and strength. You will find an internal headset and tapered headtube for low stack height and stiffness. The frame has an option of external or internal cable routing, depending on your preferences. In the rear end you will find a 4-bar linkage that gives several advantages: - lateral stiffness of the rear end of the bike - minimized side loads on the shock, eliminating excessive shock wear and friction - an optimized shock rate curve.
100% custom tubeset for optimum weight to strength and smooth lines.
For a DH / Big Mountain setup we suggest the following settings: 180mm single crown or 200mm double crown fork, coil shock, long travel and long chainstay settings. For trick orientated riding we suggest the following setup: 150-160mm fork, air shock, short chainstay and short travel setting. For most pedalling eďŹƒciency we suggest the following setup: 150-160mm fork, air shock, long chainstay and short travel setting. Jump to page 47 to check the full specs of the frame.
Strong and light tapered headtube. Long travel single crown forks will love it.
Smooth double-pass welding.

he Soda Slope is a radical bike for big moves that takes over where dirt jumping hardtails are not enough. It’s most important feature is that it enables true singlespeed setups with no chain tensioners or standard derailleur / single front ring setups. It is exceptionally nimble and manoeuvrable with one of the shortest chainstays we have ever seen on production full suspension bikes. The Soda Slope was designed to feel just like a Majesty dirtjump frame but with a safety valve in the rear end for big hits and high speed runs. We also tested the Slope in a more traditional DH environment, and found that with a longer fork (around 160mm) it can actually ride surprisingly well. Even thought the travel is short, the quality of the ride was great.
The frame is really very stiff torsionally - we have been throwing 180’s and 360’s for days on end and experienced absolutely no problems. The suspension didn’t hamper our test riders who could pull off just about every street trick that they could do on their hardtails. We used a custom tubeset developed specially for this frame, to achieve the best performance, durability and aesthetics. You won’t find any ugly external gussets on the Soda Slope. We blended in an array of beautifully cnc’d parts, each one optimized for weight and strength. You will find an internal headset and tapered headtube for low stack height and stiffness. Jump to page 47 to check the full specs.
In the rear end you will find a 4-bar linkage that gives several advantages: - lateral stiffness of the rear end of the bike - minimized side loads on the shock, eliminating excessive shock wear and friction - an optimised shock rate curve.
Horizontal dropouts will work with a singlespeed drivetrain but frame also includes a derailleur hanger.

BB pivot means you can go singlespeed with no additional chain tensioners.

A 10mm bolt-on hub is recommended.
Geometry mimics our dirt jump hardtails.
Designed to run with air shocks and very little or even no sag for dirt/slope, or with standard sag settings (around 25-30%) for a more conventional feel.
Headsets for 1 1/8 steer tubes and tapered steer tubes included with the frame.
MAJESTY
Is the Majesty the best freestyle mountain bike frame on the market nowadays? Hard to say, but if you look at Sam Pilgrim’s winning path since he started using it, and Dirt Mag’s “Ultimate MTB Products” awards in 2011 & 2012 you can guess yourself. - two versions: Dirt (22.6” TT / Euro BB), Park (21.7” TT / Spanish BB) - features 3D multiple butted tubes - fully heat treated after welding - removable cable hardware - integrated headset ~2.18kg Dirt / ~2.15kg Park
The ultimate frame cooked up from only the best ingredients without any unnecessary gadgets. 10
Is Sam Pilgrim currently the best dirt jumper in the feestyle mtb scene? Well, it’s not easy to say that, but considering his 9 wins out of 12 major events this year, sombody can surely state that opinion. It’s worth to mention that Sam, even if he didn’t win, still has been on the box!

IT’S FAR FROM
AVERAGE
“The Majesty first caught our attention purely because of its super clean lines and great finish, but as soon as we got one built up we realised the great design went much further than just aesthetics. The use of some radically butted tubing, along with post welding heat treatment, has resulted in one of the lightest steel dirt jump frames there is, without compromises in strength, and perhaps even more importantly it gives the frame a ride quality that you just won’t get with a cheaper plain gauge frame. With the riding phenomenon that is Martin Söderström behind the geometry of this frame it’s not surprising that it’s spot–on too.Yes it might cost more than your average dirt jump frame, but then it’s far from average.” Dirt Moutainbike Magazine

his frame has been with us from the beginning. Without any doubt the Suburban and now-retired Streetlegal were the frames that built the NS Bikes brand. The Suburban was also one of the first frames designed according to our clean look philosophy (it refers to both build and design) which has now become a standard that other manufacturers are following. Don’t get us wrong. The Suburban is not
an old frame – it is a frame with a long tradition and we are working hard to make it stay fresh and ahead of the competition. The only thing that remains is it’s famous name and glory. The years pass and Suburban is still one of the most popular and desired high end frames out there. The Suburban is a great frame for all sorts of freestyle MTB including street, park, dirt and slopestyle. - available in two versions: Dirt 22.5” & Park 21.8” (TT) - Euro BB - 3d multiple butted tubes - ~2.49kg Dirt / ~2.46kg Park

THE LEGEND Sam Pilgrim signature grips. E
xactly one year ago Sam Pilgrim signed the contract with NS Bikes becoming our full-time team rider. Since then he won almost every competition that he took part in and finished the 2011 season on 3rd place in the overall FMB World Tour ranking. He is also the first European rider who made it to the overall podium, becoming a Legend in the MTB world. To celebrate this great year we decided to make Sam’s own signature grips. And here they are - the Legend! The pattern in the grips is actually the story of NS Bikes and Sam Pilgrim etched into the grips letter by letter. One grip is dedicated to Sam, the other to the NS design team. Both stories are actually rap lyrics, and one day you will hear them being performed live by the guys themselves. Now you will be able to study the history of our company and check out what Sam loves in life when your catching your breath between runs. These two stories together form a true
image what NS Bikes stands for. A combination of our design team’s dedication and experience with the suggestions, ideas and feedback from the best riders. One cannot exist without the other - United we stand, divided we fall. Like Ying Yang, but less gay.

BARTEK “JAWS” KRZYSZTOŃ 16
Welcome to the team!
The District bars are high and wide, making them a perfect fit for street bikes that are usually built around low rigid forks, low head tubes, low integrated headsets and drop bmx stems. Even if the bar is really wide its completely comfortable with the big backsweep. This bar really rules, especially for use with rigid forks!” To make the Districts, we start by buying the very best Japanese 4130 cromoly that is available on the market. Next, the bars go through a complex process of multiple butting and shaping. After that the bars go through a carefully controlled heat treating process. Clamp 22.2 mm (incl. shims for 25.4 mm). ~525g black / ~540g chrome, painted The Proof handlebars are a favourite among top FMB riders - among them off course is Sam Pilgrim. High, wide, and manufactured from a special 7050 alloy material for great strength and fatigue resistance. With the new-school relaxed geometry, the Proof is really comfortable and looks rather special. Totally custom tubing and butting results in a strong & light bar with a special shape that is visible at the first glance. Perfect bars for dirt jumpers who use suspension forks, and the choice of most of the NS team riders. Clamp: 25.4 mm. ~365g black / ~375g painted Mint. A dirt-specific handlebar, similar to the Proof, but with a lower price. It’s one of the most popular choices of riders searching for aftermarket upgrades but also over the years, the Mint has “proved” it is no less reliable than the Proof in thousands of NS complete bikes. ne of our tester claims that even if you warp them, they will straighten up themselves! But I would not take his word for that. The looks of these rims are maybe not revolutionary (I think that’s good… we’re actually quite conservative) but the true awesomeness of these rims lies within. The beauty is inside and cannot be seen.
It’s the super stiff and strong material they are made of. Design is unquestionable – you can feel the power. We add a NS BIKES – STAY TRUE rim tape… which if you want you can use for a D.I.Y. belt. So? I think we did a great job here.

hile designing our complete bikes we always try to make a quality product that is something more than just a bunch of random parts put together. It’s not an easy process. We need to take a lot of factors into the equation like price, weight and quality. Everything needs to be optimized and compatible. Decals, colours and finish techniques also need to be chosen carefully. The setups are very often based on those used by our pro riders. When it comes to our top models we lock our accountant in the

office cellar. That is why you won’t find any compromises or cheap parts in our Soda 1, Core 1 and Metropolis 1 bikes. But what’s important is that also the other more economical models have the same strenght and function as our top of the line bikes, and we make sure the only compromise is slightly higher weight. That’s why unlike many other brands we do not have to apply a “do not jump on this bike sticker”.

About this Sam Pilgrims pic created by Szymon Nieborak: “This one really jumped out at me. I really like the lines of the ditch, and there’s a lot of texture in it as well with the gravel. Subtle colours, not all bright and rich and flash lit, but that’s okay, sometimes life looks better that way and I like how this shot looks... “ - Ian Hylands / Pinkbike

he Holy family - bikes similar to the Metropolis but with rigid forks. Sure, you can swap the rigid over for a suspension fork, because this bikes’ geometry derives from the legendary Suburban, so it will work great. But you don’t have to do that - the

T
he Analog is a a fixed gear freestyle bike that’s very strong, light, and despite being designed primarily for tricks, it’s a great bike for commuting. It uses the same tubes as our dirt jumping frames and has the same attention to detail and the same focused design as all our dirt products. The Analog frames will fit tires up to 700x38C and will be barspinable with this size. The geometry is different than that found in traditional track bikes - the length of the top tube will be longer in the corresponding size, and we suggest using shorter stems (40-50mm) tto achieve the correct riding position. Story started a few years ago when we started observing our MTB products being used by fix-trix bikers - especially our forks. These guys have been asking us to make some specific fixed gear products and our reply was simple: OK... fine... we got technology but you need to tell us everything about your requirements... everything! Thanks to this cooperation the Analog is not only a properly designed bike but it’s also a 100% true roots machine made specially for our customers!

celand is one of these unique places where you always dream to go to... lucky for us, our dream came true and we have had a chance to spend a few awesome days in this beautiful country. Vast, endless fields, rocky mountains, breathtaking waterfalls, hot springs and that spiritual feeling while watching auroras... these are things which are making Iceland one of the most desirable destinations. Together with Sam Pilgrim and the other guys in our crew we totally enjoyed every moment during our stay there. But natural environment is not the only great thing there, as we can’t forget about the amazing people who live there and their friendly hospitality. Honestly, this trip wouldn’t be even half that successful without our awesome guide - Emil Guðmundsson a.k.a. ‘viking’... we’ve had good days full of fun, but most of all - Iceland is a magical place to ride a bike! Chilling on fixed gear, dirt jumping, insane freeriding - it’s all there! This is why we loved it so much and already looking forward to go back there as soon as possible...

IT’S BEEN A HELL I
t’s been a hell of a summer. Weekend after weekend of gnarly comps, photo shoots, product testing. It all started in early 2011. Just a few days after Pilgrim got his NS bike, he went to win his major international event. And since then, the winning streak just did not seem to end. Sam was unstoppable. Now the season is
