Changing faces at NSCC We are proud of their accomplishments and representation of NSCC’s finest! 2003 and 2004 brought about many faculty & staff changes at NSCC. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Early Retirement Incentive program motivated many to make life-changing decisions. NSCC lost 72 employees due to traditional and early retirement options in the last two years. However, we have added 70 new faculty and staff to our ranks. The long awaited Professor Emeritus(a) program was approved in 2003. The title, from the Latin emeriti, to earn by service, has regularly been bestowed upon the most distinguished retired faculty at American colleges and universities. The college honors 38 distinguished retired faculty members who earned the tile by virtue of twenty-five or more years of devoted, meritorious service to the College and its students.
The College has established a Professor Emeritus Committee, which will annually receive, and review requests from eligible faculty for the title. Along with the title and plaque awarded to each member, NSCC provides its Professor Emeriti office space at the Danvers Main Campus along with computer and library privileges.
