NSCC is Going Greener! NSCC has long been committed to clean and green environmental concepts. According to Richard Reney, NSCC’s Director of Facilities, paper recycling, sensor lights, environmentally friendly products and carpeting, ink cartridge recycling, mercury reduction, electric grounds carts, hybrid pickup trucks — even a rainwater harvesting system — are just some of NSCC’s sustainability measures. “NSCC is actually ahead of the curve compared to other schools,” Reney said. But now that President Wayne Burton has become the 100th college president to sign the American Colleges & University President’s Climate Commitment, pledging to take a leadership role in fighting global warming, NSCC is going even greener.
