Alain Boullard In his treatment of figures, portraits and landscapes, Alain Boullard’s love of the Renaissance and classical period comes through, as well as his interest in contemporary explorations.

With open air painting as a subject matter, Veronika is expressing feelings and atmosphere with deep meaning through colors. In her portraits the viewer could see very strong drawing skills as well as good insight into the model personality and expressive brush strokes. 195 Pemberton Ave., North Vancouver 778-239-2922

Hans Breuer & Sharon Habib Sharon is influenced by the textures nature creates in decay. She uses layers of texture and a limited colour palette, creating depth and intrigue by removing material off the canvas, leaving scars that reflect the decay of what once was. Hans Breuer is a painter, sculptor, and conceptual artist. He has painted mainly with oils on large canvas using “wet-onwet” technique.

7

Barrie Chadwick Barrie Chadwick, a resident of West Vancouver since 1973, is an artist with a great love of landscapes and seascapes. His paintings, (acrylics on canvas) are produced from his “plein air” sketches and are scenes from Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom, and more recently from Venice. 195 Pemberton Ave., North Vancouver 778-866-9335

Anni Hunt Anni has always had a good eye for subtle changes in colour. Her thirty years in “grayscale” imaging in medicine has homed these skills to a finer degree. She is pleased to be able to apply that in stitch with the use of fibre and threads to create a rich and colourful texture reflecting nature in her work.

12

Michael Jeffery Abstract painting is what interests me. I use line to create form, the grid as an emblem of modernism, and colour for spatial effects. My works are intended to be thought-provoking, aesthetically pleasing, and worthy of repeated viewing.

Sandrine Pelissier Sandrine creates mixed media paintings that are contemporary in style and decorative to a certain degree. She likes to focus her paintings on positive aspects; as something people want to be surrounded by and display in their homes.

With a fine collection of paintings, archival limited edition prints, posters and art cards by Canadian artists, and a lovely selection of handmade Canadian gifts, this little gem is a great surprise to most visitors. Gordon Davis Gordon paints for leisure and enjoyment. He uses lots of colour, no clouds or dull grays and his theme is always “Happiness Reigns”. Like someone said “I don’t know what it is but your paintings make me feel good”. Most of his work is pleine aire landscapes and flowers, the things people hunt to see. Gordon verges on the side of expressionism pushing a little away from reality.

Dahlia Drive upcycles used clothing and material by burying it, heat setting paintings and images into it and embroidering onto it. Sandy Cochrane, studio assistant and Carl Hyslop from the Favorites Gift Shop will show you how the designer, Wendy Van Riesen uses these ‘overstaining’ methods to add new stories to old textiles’ historical marks. 223 East 1st St., North Vancouver 604-929-5848
