alternation grey/black issue 4 collaborators styling / aristos christodoulou hair / brushes hair studio make up / crysta lichael

Movement is synonymous with alternation, that inspired us to create a visual narrative. Staying true to our aesthetic, we created a dark mood that allowed us to present cohesive alternations to our subject.

abandonmentgrey/black issue 2 collaborators styling / aristos christodoulou hair & make up / brushes hair studio model / ksenia zaytseva

Inspired by the abandoned location and the dark trends of the season, we created a dark mood that facilitated us to translate it into a visual from. Dark colours are all over the resort and spring-summer 2013 collections motivates us to add more to black into our wardrobes. A mixture of prints, fabrics and accessories construct the dark and ghostly mood that we created.

oppression grey/black issue 5 collaborators styling / aristos christodoulou hair & make up / brushes hair studio model / marios miltiadou bimboy

The oppression that environs the history of our religion influenced our story. The theme becomes darker and strict with fetish elements and stiff materials mixed with transparencies and graphic lines.

agitation grey/black issue 4 collaborators styling / aristos christodoulou hair & make up / brushes hair studio model / valeria tihinia

Cocoon shapes and graphic silhouette mixed with clashing textures are the elements we are are focusing on. We wanted to create visual anxiety based on the clashing trends of the season.

gradation grey/black issue 3 collaborators styling / aristos christodoulou hair & make up / brushes hair studio model / sofia zlata shestakovskaya

BLACK AND WHITE is the biggest trend of the season, but we wanted to utilize this trend in a different way rather than thick graphic lines. We have decided to present this trend as a gradient from black to white. The fabrics are a key factor for the black and white trend. Spring’s softer fabrics mixed with new age materials construct a unique look.

gloom grey/black issue 5 collaborators styling / aristos christodoulou hair & make up / brushes hair studio model /luiza pitsillides

Looking through the gloom a dark palette was formed, the theme allowed us to find pieces that are unique and weather appropriate. Lighter materials characterized by their futility mixed with the japanese shapes and dark prints.

purity grey/black issue 5 collaborators styling / aristos christodoulou hair / brushes hair studio make up / crysta lichael model /alexandra markidou

Purity could be considered as one of the religious elements, as a result the palette becomes lighter with nudes and whites. The element of reveal is exposed creating a darker mood. The elements of Fluidity and draping add on to the fragility of purity.

WORKSHOPS August 2013 Workshop de Audiovisual y Fotografia RCR Aranda Pigem Vilalta ARQUITECTES - Olot, SPAIN

ABOUT ME I started out my training, in the field of hairdressing. This is where I first came in contact with the the world of fashion and editorial photography. I was very much drawn to this medium, so I decided to pursue my education in the field of photography. Recently some further collaborations have brought me in contact with the world of cinematography and direction of photography for film. I have always enjoyed this progression in my education and work, one thing leads to another and there is always room for new experiences and new opportunities. My recent experimentation with film has seen the nature of the work shift in focus from the finished work of art, towards a more process-driven approach, which allows for the narrative to come through the work in a multitude of layers. My recent work has also in a way brought me full circle, going back to the human body where it all started. Working with contemporary dance and choreographers, opened up a whole new dimension to my approach towards spatial and temporal understanding.
