In Translation | 2018 A comprehensive project that delved into the complex topic of translation tools, one which combines language-learning with translation to aid the user. The project involved designing the app, creating an app preview video, branding the app as well as creating both site maps and branding guidelines. In Translation screens | 2018 Screens from the YZ Translator (app) showing Help Me (leading users to learn the language, review it or practice, a contextual breakdown of the language for a nuanced understanding, mimic practice for pronunciation help and a live-voice interaction on the app. User-tests and interviews led to these tools being included.
WINDOWS Vinyl on window with RYB lockup. Vinyl will continue from the back wall w/ door entry across the room and run up into the glass. There will also be horizontal bands running high on the windows to reflet the signage team. Proposed locations of the airy structures holding various posters/publications. They will be painted white to match the tables. Vinyl will run from the glass, onto the wall before making its way to the group to brand the space with the patterns of RYB.
WALL WITH DOOR ENTRY Vinyl on door with RYB lockup. Business cards will be displayed on back shelving that will be painted the RYB colors. The shelves are floating, and will be held on by Command strips.
Catalogs will be out in the hall as well as on a branded table/pedestal underneath/near the business cards Vinyl will run from the glass, onto the wall before making its way to the group to brand the space with the patterns of RYB. Tables will be covered with a painted plywood cover and the top will have two layers of white butcher paper covering, both to protect the tables as well as provide a clean white surface.

Red, Yellow, Blue Senior Show | 2018 The RYB Senior Show was a curated exhibition which strove to highlight the unique personalities of the 2018 class in a way that is reflective of their work and process. The spacial experience of the exhibition balanced the bright brand language of RYB and the work to create a holistic yet branded experience of the exhibition.
in ruins: the refugee crisis | 2016 This was an intense research project into the refugee crisis, specifically focusing on the Syrian refugee crisis. The book aims to present a somber, but not overwhelmingly sad tone for the subject matter. It takes readers through a global, objective look at the crisis into a more localized one about the Syrian war and displacement.

I am still relevant zine | 2018 A combination zine/poster that acts as an extension of the In Ruins publication. This zine aims to inform the public through a guerrilla design act, a mass amount of zines handed out to the public. The zine is a mixed media project combining traditional letterpress with the Xerox machine.
jazz! app | 2017 An app design redefining the experience of jazz music on a music app. Through expressive marks, users are led down a path where the marks reflect the tonality of the jazz they are listening to. The app aims to take away any predetermined judgment and to allow users a direct jump into jazz.

D Dior patterns patterns patterns winter florals and patterns were a running theme this year. brands were rocking plaid, florals, and bold prints, so don’t be afraid to embrace these patterns this fall/winter season.

huit zine | 2017 An zine about NYFW and Paris Fashion week and some of the designs seen there. The zine took on a more high-end editorial finish to reflect the fashion and was a part of a series of work exploring editorial design.

The book documents and transribes the entire discussion and aims to show the play of a conversation while still retaining all of the necessary information. This was a collaboration with six designers and the client.

Harvesting Coffee Coffee is an extremely tedious process and is one of the most demanding commodities to farm. The coffee beans as we know it comes from little red berries that produce two coffee beans each. The process to determine the ripeness of a berry requires human attention—not just machines to harvest. Hand-picked coffee produces the best-tasting coffee on the market, ensuring that a coffee bean isn’t too ripe/raw.

Museum of Coffee | 2018 The Museum of Coffee is a curated museum that takes audiences through the history of coffee to its current reign as one of today’s most popular drink. The spatial design highlights the journey of the coffee bean, from tree to drink—utilizing textures, colors and fragrance to help visitors navigate the space.
