ACADEMIC PROGRAMS / UNDERGRADUATE
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design
Combining a comprehensive interior design curriculum with a strong liberal arts education, our Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Interior Design program offers a rich and memorable college experience—the kind only New York can offer. You’ll leave the program fully prepared to start your interior design career.
The emphasis in the BFA program is on creativity, effective verbal and graphic communication skills, technical proficiency, and sustainability. With its focus on the development of critical thinking, the program is structured to produce graduates who are culturally, socially, and historically aware, and who have the knowledge and skills to create safe and pleasing interior environments.
In combination with the required professional experience, the curriculum satisfies the educational requirements for membership in national and local interior design associations and, along with work experience, allows graduates to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam for interior design certification.
The program can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis
The program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA)
The curriculum covers both residential and contract design (i.e., offices, hotels, restaurants)
