Welcome to the 2020 TMC Trailers Trucking Industry Show Dave Boyce, NTA CEO.

This is the fourth show that NZ Trucking Association has organised and it is a whopper. Double the show space, heaps more exhibitors than 2018, new product launches, the introduction of industry competitions, working displays, and Careers Transport are just a few attractions in store for visitors. We are delighted to introduce the TR Group New Zealand Truck Driving Championships that will be held at the show to find New Zealand’s truck driving champions. We look forward to seeing drivers from all over New Zealand compete for one of the six prizes up for grabs. This is an important showcase of the skill that is required to drive a heavy vehicle, which is not often celebrated or promoted to the public. The show is all about celebrating those that keep the trucks moving – from the drivers to mechanics and suppliers. It is time to get together and celebrate a job well done. This is now an unmissable event in the road transport calendar. Lots of things are happening, so make sure you check the event schedule and plan to be here for the whole day. Careers Transport 2020

All around the event, Careers showcase. All participants will be given a show map highlighting the participating exhibitors and where at participating show exhibitor stands. their stands are located. There will be career guides located around the venue to assist. The showcase gives high-school students and adults looking for a new career or pathway change a great opportunity to learn about various roles within the industry. One cool attraction is the Hilton Haulage dispatch display; the company will run its dispatch centre from the inside of one of its trailers throughout the event. It will end at 12:30pm with a complimentary BBQ.

Industry Trade Day

This is an opportunity for exhibitors to invite and host customers on a quieter day. Entry is free on this day.

TR Group New Zealand Truck Driving Championships Heats

After a relaunch of the competition, this will now take place over the two days at the show. Friday is a day for heats. There are three competition areas: Class 2, Class 5 Truck and Trailers, and Class 5 tractor-semi. Grandstands will be set up for optimum spectator viewing. The competition heats consist of a theory test, pre-trip inspection and 10-minute manoeuvring course. The top six finalists from each category will be announced on Saturday morning and finals will take place on Saturday afternoon.

The morning is dedicated to finishing the heats and finalists will be announced following. In the afternoon the finals will take place and includes a 10-minute manoeuvring test and road test with a TR Group driver assessor. Winners will be announced at the Teletrac Navman Show Dinner & Awards Ceremony. All finalists will receive complimentary show dinner tickets.

This is a competition between Titan, Smiths and Calder Stewart in the big all-terrain cranes. The competition involves crane manoeuvring and obstacle challenges. All finalists will receive complimentary show dinner tickets.
