Oak Bay Families’ Resource Program P

A FREE COMMUNITY DROP-IN

This drop-in program is for caregivers and babies and toddlers up to five years to enjoy free play, snack and activities with each other. Drop-in space is limited so arrive on time to not be disappointed. Fridays, 10:00–11:30am September 16–December 16

(Program does not run on Professional Development Days (September 23, October 21 and November 14) and Statutory Holidays.) Located in the Rainforest Room at the Neighbourhood Learning Centre, 2121 Cadboro Bay Rd (attached to Oak Bay High School). In partnership with Fernwood NRG and the Provincial Government of BC.

Parents, bring your tots to play, sing, explore, and experiment with our toys and equipment. The gym includes loads of toys, structures to climb, sports equipment, ride-on toys, and of course, the bouncy castle! Circle time with action songs and rhymes concludes each day's class. Please note, enrollment is limited for this class. Parent participation required.

Music Together® is an internationally recognized music and movement program for children birth-5yrs and their parents and caregivers. Mixed-age classes provide developmentally appropriate, rich music experiences that support and respect the unique learning styles of young children. Come sing, play, laugh, dance, learn, and have fun with us! $189 fee for the first child includes: CD and digital downloads, online access to the Family Music Zone, a beautifully illustrated songbook, and a parent resource guide for new families. A sibling can be registered for $129 at reception. Siblings under 9 months as of the date of the first class attend free. This rich phonics-based reading and writing program will provide students an opportunity to learn how to read and write. The program is based on the Orton Gillingham methodology and is delivered by a certified BC teacher who is experienced in early years literacy and learning. Our lessons will be fun, multisensory, and systematic. This program will help students achieve fast results in their reading and writing skills and will improve self-esteem in literacy.
