This open exhibition will give members of the Oakham School community an opportunity to demonstrate their photography skills in a show in the Smallbone Library. With photography being such an accessible medium, the Art Department wants to encourage students, teachers and support staff alike to share their take on the world.
Form 7 artists will share some of their work in progress building up to the completion of their Personal Investigation. It is a chance for them to think about how their work looks when displayed and to step back and consider how to push their experiments. Their work covers three disciplines: Textile Design, Fine Art and 3D Design.

In nineteenth-century France, Jean Valjean is released from years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a lifelong struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Finally, during the Paris student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront his ideals after Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean’s adopted daughter.
Les Misérables School Edition is an epic tale of broken dreams, passion and redemption set against a nation in the throes of revolution and a powerful and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit.

DRAMA
Every year, pupils, parents and staff gather in the QET to celebrate the dramatic works of William Shakespeare. Open to newcomers and old hands alike, pupils from across the School perform a selection of monologues, duologues and sonnets from the Bard’s canon to a small, informal panel of judges. Please come and join us for an engaging and enjoyable afternoon, complete with hot chocolate, cookies and mulled wine…
