IDR LA Wildfire

In the winter of 2025, wildfires devastated various parts of Los Angeles, California, displacing thousands of families, destroying homes, and damaging critical infrastructure. The scale of destruction prompted urgent calls for assistance from local government authorities and humanitarian organizations.

In response to this crisis, Operation Blessing launched a disaster relief mission to support affected communities by providing essential aid, including hygiene kits, emergency meal kits, cleaning supplies from Home Depot, school materials for displaced students, and emotional and spiritual support.

Additionally, OB extended support to small businesses and schools impacted by the fires, helping families restore a sense of normalcy by providing furnishings, household essentials, and school supplies. With the generous support of our partners, we were able to assist small businesses, such as water restoration services, soapmaking ventures, and a barbershop, by supplying the essential tools needed to rebuild.

Currently, the team is coordinating the delivery of smart boards, library books, and stands for Seven Arrows Elementary School in Los Angeles, California. In partnership with Bel Air Church, Operation Blessing also plans to launch a mobile pantry that will travel through affected communities every Sunday after worship service. This pantry will distribute fresh food and drinks, nonperishable items, fresh produce in partnership with the LA County Regional Food Bank, clothing, and other essential consumer goods.

Operation Blessing Philippines deployed a specialized disaster response team of nine personnel to assist with logistical support, resource mobilization, partnerships, relief distribution, and Superbook shows for children and families.

“Thank you so much, guys! You have been the biggest help through everything for everybody. I really hope that in the long run, you get blessed after this. This is amazing! Thank God for people out here like you.”

Rickeyah Ward, a 25-year-old single mother from Altadena, lost everything when her family’s generational home burned down. With a 7-year-old son to care for and a lingering injury making it difficult to find work, the struggle has been overwhelming. But thanks to compassionate and generous partners, OB stood alongside Rickeyah and her son in their time of need.
