Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, Inc.

Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, Inc. (OB) is the humanitarian arm of CBN Asia, the producer of ‘The 700 Club Asia’, a TV program aired every night in the Philippines. Since its inception, Operation Blessing has inspired change in the lives of more than a million people from all over the Philippines. Whether aboard helicopters or trucks, by banca or on foot, OB travels hours— even days—to reach places where many others have not gone.

As mandated by God, OB’s mission is to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ and demonstrate God’s love to the people of the Philippines. To achieve this, OB is committed to conducting community transformation programs on: Disaster Response, Healthcare, Children’s Programs and Hunger Relief. Its vision is to see Filipino families achieve transformed lives by alleviating human needs and suffering, one family and one community at a time.

OB is registered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as a Social Work Agency, licensed to operate and implement social welfare programs all over the Philippines, and is accredited by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification as a donee institution. OB also works with other government and non-government agencies, both in the local and national levels, churches, and other groups which serve the best interest of its target beneficiaries.

Marinduque, a heart-shaped island province in the Philippines, is best known for its vibrant Moriones Festival during Holy Week and its distinction as the “Butterfly Capital of the Philippines.” The province attracts visitors with its pristine beaches, historical sites like Boac Cathedral, and traditional crafts including the welcoming “putong” ceremony.

In terms of public health, the province faces several critical challenges:

Environmental health concerns related to the Marcopper Mining disaster of 1996, which continues to affect local communities through contaminated water sources and soil. This has been linked to various health issues including skin problems and respiratory conditions among residents near affected areas.

Limited access to healthcare facilities, particularly in rural areas, forcing residents to travel to mainland Luzon for more complex medical procedures. This creates both financial burden and delays in receiving critical care.

High prevalence of waterborne diseases during rainy seasons, particularly in areas with limited access to clean water infrastructure and proper sanitation facilities. Vulnerability to dengue outbreaks, given the tropical climate and presence of mosquito breeding grounds in both urban and rural areas.

Challenges with maternal and child healthcare access, particularly in remote barangays where transportation to medical facilities can be difficult.

Despite these challenges, the province continues to work on improving its healthcare system through rural health units and barangay health stations, though progress is often constrained by limited resources and the island’s geographical isolation.

Day 4 Mobile Medical Clinic

Daily Devotional:

Readings: Romans 12:1-8

A Living Sacrifice

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Humble Service in the Body of Christ

3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a] faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

Day 5 Mobile Medical Clinic

Daily Devotional:

Readings: Isaiah 41:8-13

8 “But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend,

9 I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.

10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

11 “All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.

12 Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all.

13 For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
