EDITORS NOTE CAGE is a fashion magazine written for students by students, more specifically fashion students. Despite the readership, there is no denying this is a high fashion magazine, focusing on the latest collections and designer releases. Although the student themselves may not be in a position to buy these items they are relevant for inspiration purposes to keep those budding students dreaming. They also keep students up to date with the goings on within the fashion industry. Some articles such as ‘Student Essentials’ are written directly focused towards students. Articles such as this are informative as well as interesting and are fundamental for interacting with our readership. In this issue we had several main focuses. Firstly, eco-fashion, an issue that should be readily acknowledge by the young generation of our society as it directly influences our future. Design has so many possibilities within the term ‘economically friendly’ and this is an area anyone considering entering the design industry should recognize. Secondly, the catwalks of recent London Fashion Week hugely inspired us, especially the focus of the 1920s and the icon Marie Antoinette the 18th century era. Lastly, we focused on how to shake up the suit look prematurely preparing students to rock the ‘working girl’ look.
