DARK AS HELL: A TRUE CRIME PODCAST Created and hosted by a Rhode Island native!
Beyond the bragging right facts that I was born in October and I shared my childhood home with ghost poodles (which is a story for another time) — I suppose my appreciation for the creepy and telling stories starts at the beginning, and the beginning of this adventure is actually here, in my hometown, of Providence, Rhode Island. Here on College Hill, I grew up knowing the campus quad of Brown University was mine to run wild through, though we all avoided the clock tower in the lower green because we all knew it was haunted by a pox-infested couple from centuries ago; and the cozy nooks of the Providence Athenaeum where I learned to read were inspired by the fact Edgar Alan Poe had a similar love for those same corners and nooks. Even now, as an adult, my apartment sits quite literally in the shadow of the former pied-a-terre belonging to beloved, federally indicted, twice-elected Mayor Buddy Cianci, who allegedly almost beat a man to death in said apartment. If it isn't already clear, I’ve got a thing for the spook factor, and it runs deep. So if you’re looking for a place to explore your own penchant for the spooky and the macabre with a side of dry humor and justice-seeking, welcome. Let’s get ready to get Dark As Hell.
