Chancellor Installation Relay for Life DDMIX: Staff Workout Activity
VC Townhall Meeting
Townhall with Prof Lily Chan
WOU Vice Chancellor, Prof Lily Chan used analogies of a boat moving closer to the edge of a waterfall and of a car engine in need of fixing to drive home the point that WOU must rebrand and relaunch its image as soon as possible. Addressing the staff during her maiden townhall session at the main campus on July 23rd, Prof Lily Chan called for radical changes in the structure, strategies and mindset of the staff to halt the plateauing of student total enrolment. “All must work in tandem or the boat will head to the edge of the waterfall”, said Prof Lily Chan. She also called for the execution of plans to increase student enrolment and “hence fix the engine in the car”. Among them are – getting our dormant and inactive students with above 60 earned credits graduated; and micro-credentials that allow stacking of courses to award professional certificates. Let’s work together, get the engine fixed and move the boat away from the waterfall!
