My love for interior design grew when I watched HGTV. I enjoyed watching old houses being transformed into their full potential. I took my first class in Jenior year, and continued on to Senior year. Next year I will be attending JCCC where I will cover my GED’s and take some additional design classes. The goal is to transfer once I receive my liberal arts degree. I will be focusing full time on this career and I will be enhancing my skills as a designer alongside other alumni at SCAD. In this issue, I included projects I completed in the 2023 academic year.
OVERVIEW OF THIS YEAR:
7+ hours of engagement
More than 7+ hours invested on designing rooms, creating boards, research, and presenting [preparation].
4 skills learned
This semester I learned valuable stuff about interior design while also learning about myself. I learned how to present my ideas, how to work with clients, how to create visually aesthetic boards, and I also got practice choosing materials. Plus, I got inspired by the amazing spaces designed by my classmates.

Heartfelt Love Chair
JANUARY 11 2023 - FEBRUARY 1 2023
For this project, I worked with a unique chair. The color made it challenging to style because it was a vibrant red. I ended up designing a city apartment with an anologous color scheme to compliment the red. Instead of working against the couch, I attempted to work with it and give it the love its owner, my client, has given it.

FEBRUARY 27 2023 - MARCH 22 2023
CHALLENGE: Design a living room for two clients with distinct styles.
Earlier this year I worked with Tom and Jerry as they wanted to rent an airbnb but did not know how to combine their aesthetics. I researched both styles, bohemian and traditional, and began designing a living room for them. I focused more on the traditional architectural aspect while adding bohemian inspired decorations. While there were clear differences between the styles, they both concurred with neutral color paints. At last, they had a cozy mountainside airbnb to rent out with an amazing view to the outdoors.

APRIL 17 2023 - MAY 3 2023
Over the course of 3 weeks, I worked alongside my sister, Angela. My challenge was to create a home for her under 600 sq. ft, while covering all the necessities; living space, bedroom, laundry space and bathroom. I experimented with various layouts and created a design board to visualize the space. Overall, I designed a 590 sq. ft tiny home that she will hopefully consider next time she is house hunting.
