Making Your Home Rustic
Y
ou don’t have to live in the country or own a cabin in the woods to have a family room with a country style decor. You don’t have to even participate in country lifestyles like farming, fishing and hunting. You can have country decor right in the middle of the city or even in the suburbs. Let your imagination run wild in bringing the country into your home. The country look is pure sim-
plicity using natural colors and textures embodying the culture of country living. There are many ways to accomplish this decorating style in your home by simply placing unfinished wood furniture in the room as end and coffee tables along with oversized leather club chairs and couches, and carefully selected color schemes for your walls and paintings. You can build a large stone fireplace that will be the focal point in
y
our family room along with placing some carefully selected antique pieces strategically throughout the room . There are many ways to soften up a family room and make the room feel comfy, cozy, and inviting to your guests and family. A family room should be a haven for anyone who chooses to spend some time there. It is most often the most used space in a home, and you want it to feel comfortable. You want the room to feel warm and relaxing. A custom-made antler table could be just the touch the room needed to play up a lodge-like interior. The walls should be painted a country style pale yellow or blue hue, providing a softer look that a bright white. The color of your walls is especially important if the room’s windows have a north and south view. Adding a few choice color schemes, like blue plaid throw pillows on the couch, gives your liv
ing room or family room space a strong sense of color and pattern. You should select a soft carpet that is comfortable for kids to sit on, if you are able to redo the flooring, in a hue that complements the colors of your walls. If you are stuck with another type of harder flooring, bring in plush area rugs to place in the seating areas. Remember, large flat screen televisions and an Xbox don’t exactly mesh with the country style family room, so make sure you have a good, rustic looking entertainment center to hide them. An antique armoire is perfect, find one at an auction that has a flawed finish. You’ll end up getting it cheap because no one else will want it. Paint it or distress it and add shelves for your electronics to keep them hidden. Just remember to keep in mind that Country decor is charming, pure, simple and natural. There’s no need for fuss in a country family room, just get back to basics.

Each side of her needs a different look, making her makeup match her different “characters.” Each look has very subtle differences, if it’s just by adding color or eyeliner. When it comes to the “everyday girl” it is hard to relate yourself to someone like Carrie Underwood. Carries look for a being on stage would be a great look for a fun night out with the girls or even a concert! The look you want to go for is a smoky eye adding some dramatic gray and black eye shadows as well adding some great accents such as eyeliner. :Well there are many ways to decorate your boots. The first way I recommend is to embroider them with a new thread or another idea to try is taking studs or jewels to them. Also I have heard of painting your boots but with that just make sure the paint you pick works with leather.
Adding Denim to your Closet W
hat do you associate denim with? Majority of people will think of cowboys, the country, and small towns. For years that’s the only population who has worn denim consecutively. Females have worn denim dresses throughout the ages they would pair the dress with a pair of cowboy boots. In the 70’s denim jackets were a big fashion trend among working men. In the 80’s the trend continued but was twisted everyone wore denim jackets but with their own twist. People would add embellishments to make the jacket their own. Denim died out slowly but surely and is now coming back in 2012! Denim is the new black. Every street corner you turn someone is wearing denim whether it be a denim dress, skirt, jacket, shirt, or vest. Everyone is turning their styles into the country phenomenon. There are tons of different types of denim that you can wear; buying denim is the easy part. It becomes tricky and can become a denim disaster if you don’t know how to wear it correctly or what to pair it with.
Mix and match! Using a chambray shirt as your jacket is another great option for the fall. Wearing it over a cute tank and jeans is totally cceptable. Mixing different colors of denim
Totally tied! Try tying the ends of a denim shirt in a knot. This works if you are wearing shorts, a skirt or even this fall’s Dress it down! Wear a longer jean shirt with a cute pair of black leggings, or even as a dress on a warmer day.
Be unexpected! You can always throw a denim jacket over anything, but Lange and Wagman suggest pairing it with a flirty, girly outfit, like a floral sun-

Find the Line Between Country and Redneck
T
here are two types of southern folk Country and Redneck. Some who aren’t from this background will characterize them as the same thing but they are totally different. The term country refers to southern people who like southern things. Things that make someone country are you have to love being outside, hunting, not afraid to get dirty, drive a truck, have a pair of cowboy boots and levis, white picket fence and always have a glass of sweet tea close by. These are just some things that country people enjoy. Now people who are considered redneck are usually poor, uneducated, and basically just the trash of country living. Trying to find the line between the two is easy for most but when decorating your house, wedding, wardrobe, and your overall space some could get confused at what defines it Country or Redneck.
