Water module May 6th - 8th 2018

Maastricht - The Netherlands

Dear EPCAS member, Dear EPCAS friend, We proudly invite you to the fourth module of the European Event Catering Academy (EECA), taking place from Sunday May 6th until Tuesday May 8th 2018 in Maastricht, The Netherlands. This EECA module will focus on having a mind like water. We will train the participants to be resilient in stressful times. Water stands for intuition, clarity and emotions. Water needs to flow. The participants will be taught how to stay cool, calm and collected, and they will focus on their personal branding. Together with our academic partner, Stenden Hotel Management School, and our partner in learning & development, Q-staff, we have composed a well-balanced and interactive programme, with enough time to reflect on and process the information given. We look forward to welcoming your talents in Maastricht! Kind regards, On behalf of the EPCAS Board and Office,

Ruedi Bachmann EPCAS President

WHY EECA? The catering industry is changing rapidly. New trends emerge, economies are blurring and business models are evolving. Members of Generation Y gather their knowledge online and use the internet to gain information. But you can’t Google experience! Therefore, more and more universities are offering programmes that are focused on the further development of industry professionals. Many of these programmes, however, focus on the hospitality industry in general. Therefore, to further develop and retain high potentials in the catering and event industry, we have developed the European Event Catering Academy (EECA). The EECA is a tailor-made programme, created by experts. The subjects taught are future proof and international. We offer a well-balanced combination of knowledge taught by professors and industry professionals, as well as leadership skills, empowerment and insight in personal behavioural styles.

Initiators The EECA is an initiative of the European Event Caterer Association (EPCAS), the platform connecting directors and owners of leading European catering companies. The goals of EPCAS are building friendships, delivering quality content, sharing knowledge & experiences and improving the catering industry as a whole. By setting up the European Event Catering Academy to develop talent within the industry, we believe that we will make a big impact. By partnering up with Stenden Hotel Management School, one of the leading international hospitality schools, and international training company Q-staff, we are convinced that we are able to offer an appealing and well-balanced programme. MapsTell

Leadership

MapsTell uses PersonalMapping™ to help understand human behaviour by putting people on the map, literally. The insights it gives, enable people to get the best out of themselves and work more effectively with others. This Mapstell session is focused on personal branding; How to successfully brand your personality. MapsTell is modelled on the DISC personality system developed by William Marston.

Stress, everyone has experienced this, some people respond to it, while others don’t. Why is this? Why do some people handle stress way better than others? Being a leader requires you to be stress resistant. First lead yourself, before you can lead others. During this leadership session we will go in-depth on effectiveness, self-leadership and obtaining desirable results. ‘A mind like water.’

Empowerment Training

Etiquette dinner

This training focuses on setting and reaching personal or professional goals. The keywords of empowerment are dreaming, daring, doing and persisting. Starting with personal strengths and talents, we will shape a vision, strategy and eventually success!

Old traditions, new traditions, each culture has its own set of etiquette rules. During this dinner we will experience etiquette in a fun way. You might be surprised by certain rules and also gain new insights for your personal set of etiquette rules.
