EBI Distribution Spring 2014 The EBI College Union Survey is distributed on an annual basis during the spring semester by the Education and Assessment team from the Oglesby Union Education and Assessment Department. The purpose of the EBI College Union survey is to improve the services, programs, practices and procedures through implementation of internal and external benchmarking. Students are asked to rate their satisfaction with the current operations of the Oglesby Union. The Education and Assessment team were able to acquire 487 of the 500 surveys provided by EBI, with the assistance of various Recognized Student Organizations (RSO), Oglesby Union Departments, Campus Partners, and SGA Student Senate, Congress of Graduate Students, and Agencies. Surveys were also acquired from students in the Union at such locations as the student lounges, Union Food Court, Union Green, Askew Student Life Center, and Union events like Breakfast for A Buck and Market Wednesday. General Student Population The Union Education and Assessment team utilized the help of Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) by attending meetings and events and asking members of the executive board to encourage their members to complete the EBI College Union Survey. Additionally, surveys were administered to students in the Union at such locations as the student lounges, Union Food Court, Union Green, and Union events like Breakfast for A Buck and Market Wednesday. Below are RSOs that assisted in the completion of the 2014 EBI College Union Surveys: • Anhelo • Disability Student Union • Best Buddies • Inter-Residence Hall Council • Poetic Lyricism • Caribbean Student Association • Reflections Modeling Troupe • Christian Campus Fellowship • CYPHER • Sisters2Service Oglesby Union Departments Oglesby Union departments aided in the 2014 EBI College Union Survey by asking student volunteers and leaders to give their feedback of Oglesby Union practices and procedures. Campus Partners Campus Partners assisted in the Education Assessment team by encouraging students to participate in the 2014 EBI College Union Survey. Below is the list of the campus partners that contributed to the completion of EBI College Union Surveys: • New Student and Family Programs: Orientation Leaders • Student Government Association: Student Senate, Congress of Graduate Students, and Agencies (Hispanic Latino Student Union, Pride Student Union, and Women Student Union) Focus Group On Thursday, February 27, 2014, a focus group was held to gain student feedback on the results of the 2013 EBI survey. Students were asked what could be done to make the Union more relaxing, other types of events they would like the Union to host, how the Oglesby Union can continue to best share information about campus events, and ideal hours of operation for the Union. Based on the focus group, the most common themes were: • Creating more uniformity in the Union • Making the Union feel more welcoming including signage, greenery, and entrances • Expanding means of sharing communication to mobile applications and my.fsu.edu and promoting Union calendar webpage at Market Wednesdays
