NEW! Registration Process This year we have contracted with Blue Panda to process our registration for our State Leadership Conference. You will use your chapter number to sign on with the password of service. Once in the program, you will register your students for their T-shirt size, their competitive events, and for the conference. To register, ohiofbla. com/register. Username is “OHFBLA_12345” where 12345 is your chapter number. Password is Service. You need to remember to include the OHFBLA_ prefix or it will not login. Your students will need to be registered with the National Office BEFORE you register for the SLC. You will select your chapter (School Name) and then pick the students that you have registered to attend the conference. The screens will prompt you for the information. BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THEIR COMPETITIVE EVENTS BEFORE YOU REGISTER. Please remember that your students can only perform in one individual event, and one team event at the conference. The students may take as many objective tests as they would like for the conference. We will award 1st - 10th place at the Conference on Thursday and Friday. Please have your chapter Presidents prepare a 30 second video of what your chapter has done thus far this school year. They can talk about your service projects, your membership, your fundraising, or some highlights from your chapter meetings. Please have these videos sent electronically to ea@ohiofbla.org by February 28, 2019. Production Tests will be sent out once your student is registered for a production event. The production test and the students’ answers will need to be sent in by Friday, February 22, 2019 to Mrs. Kelly Thomas, Judges Coordinator at 3688 Sweitzer Street NW, Uniontown, OH 44685. Objective Tests are 60 minutes in length and approximately 100 multi-choice/true/false questions. These objective tests are TAKEN AT THE HOME SCHOOL prior to attending the State Leadership Conference. All students taking the same test MUST take the test at the same time on the same day, Not following this rule will cause all students who have taken the same test to be disqualified. Presentation and Case Studies will be conducted at the Conference. Students WILL be sequestered if the event requires this stipulation. Please note that NO CELL PHONES OR ELECTRONIC DEVICES are permitted in the sequestered room. Activities will be provided until it is your time to prepare for the sequestered event. Oral Events - you will be preparing your speeches and delivering them in front of a panel of judges. Be sure to prepare well and follow the National Guidelines for EVERY event. Ohio FBLA uses the same topics as Nationals, so that once you prepare for the State Conference and win 1st - 3rd or 4th place depending on the event, you can just polish your presentations to be presented again at Nationals. This year Nationals is being held in San Antonio, Texas. Cost: Early Bird Registration - $125 from December 2 to December 31, 2018, for Students, Advisers, and Chaperones. Regular Registration - $150 from January 1 - January 15, 2019 for students. Advisers and Chaperones are $125.00. Late Registration -$175.00 from January 16 - January 29, 2019. Advisers and Chaperones are $125.00. 4

Code of Conduct Ohio FBLA members have an excellent reputation. Student conduct at every Ohio FBLA function should make a positive contribution to extending that reputation. All attendees are expected to abide by the following code of conduct: 1. Behave in a courteous and respectful manner, refraining from language and actions that might bring discredit upon themselves, their school, other attendees, advisers, or upon Ohio FBLA. 2. Obey all local, state, and federal laws. 3. Avoid conduct not conducive to an educational conference. Such conduct includes, but is not limited to, actions disrupting the businesslike atmosphere, association with nonconference individuals, or activities that endanger self or others (running in the General Sessions, standing on chairs, using laser pointers during workshops, bodysurfing at dances, etc.) 4. Keep your advisers informed of your activities and whereabouts at all times. Accidents, injuries, and illnesses must be reported to the local adviser and chaperones immediately. 5. Observe the curfews as listed in the conference program. Local and state advisers as well as security personnel will enforce curfews. Curfew is defined as being in your own assigned room by the designated hour. 6. Avoid alcoholic beverages and controlled or illegal substances of any form. These items must not be used or possessed at any time, or under any circumstances. Use or possession of such substances may subject the attendee to criminal prosecution. 7. Act as guests of the hotel and conference center. Attendees must obey the rules of these facilities. The facilities have the right to ask a member or members to leave. Do no through anything out of windows or over balconies. Do not run down hallways. Noise should be kept at a reasonable volume, especially in the hotels. Remember that there are other guests in the hotels who have rights as well. Trash (this includes pizza boxes, bottles, cans, etc.) must be placed in the proper receptacles and not left on guest room or meeting room floors. Individuals or chapters responsible for damages to any property or furnishings will be responsible for its repair or replacement.
