ashion used to change with every season. But now it seems it changes by the second. With artistic directors moving in and out, shifting from house to house, fashion is having many an evolutionary moment. I can’t think of a better issue to highlight these changes than in our September issue. As the AW16 shows are well behind us, we can peel back from them and really dissect the new pieces that will ultimately find a place in our wardrobes. We have our bi-annual trend report, looking closely at the nuances of the season and picking out the most statement-making looks. I have always favoured comfort above all else without skimping on style mind you, so the advent of luxe sportswear is the perfect compromise and in my books, is a keeper. Followed by a comprehensive guide on what to buy to get a head-start for the months ahead, the essential pieces we’ve rounded up are versatile, daring and offer twists on classic fits. I have my eye on puffy, dramatic sleeves – it speaks volumes of style and sophistication and makes you the centre of attention. We of course always look to the international shows for the best fashion advice – it’s like a natural reflex. But since discovering the vast amount of talented designers on our shores (and there are so many it can make your head spin) we have dedicated a big slice of the magazine to the crème de la crème of the region’s names to know among the fashion elite. Elsewhere in the magazine we have the beauty trends to match to help take you from summer to autumn in an effortless way and of course we have our usual sections to keep you on your toes and continue to live the fabulously high life!

A September Issue christian louboutin
As we dive into September, which seems to be the most important month in the world of fashion and beauty, all I can think of is, I need more vacations. Seriously. September being a grand month with an evidently important shift for designers, beauty gurus, runways and fashion houses, they are all ready for: Lights, camera, action! And as we gear up with beautiful things to come our way from intricate and beautiful gowns in the fashion department, to must-have colours for our beauty routine, we are going big this month. And as we go big, we had a delicious spa day at the Doha Marriott where we got pampered by the therapists and succumbed into a wonderful LPG facial massage. Take notes and get dialing for a massage of your own. But how about you take a peek for yourself and enjoy our latest issue in all its glory.

Creating style is always about twisting classics to bring out new motifs and the best in traditional wear. Asymmetrical hemlines and random cuts of fabric sticking out in the most odd places is what we like to call wonky fashion. It can be so mad, it’s brilliant.

...for Valentino The house of romance has given even more reason to fall in love with them all over again. Under the creative supervision of Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri, the latest pieces from the Ready-To-Wear and Haute Couture collections melded feminine graciousness with sartorial precision to give the best season yet
There was some uncertainty as the lights went down at the AW16 Valentino show. Sat in traditional runway arrangement, flanking the catwalk, it was an intimate setting despite being full to the brim with industry greats. Instead of a recorded soundtrack, we were treated to a live piano performance by Vanessa Wagner who played works by John Cage and Phillip Glass on a baby grand Yamaha positioned in the middle of the audience. She walked over in the dead silent auditorium and in swan-like poise, sat at her instrument and took hold of the entire atmosphere as she descended into melodic play. What followed was a dreamy presentation of floral fantasies, ballerina brilliance and biker bite. Pierpaolo and Maria were taken by the Russian and the New York City ballet, which saw the unraveling of a non narrative thread that choice instinct to logic, releasing primordial energies. The entire sequence chimed perfectly to the shifting aesthetics: from gentle dancers to regal high necks to layers of mannish wear, the show was a several act play with a definitive finale bringing all the moments of darkness, romance and earthiness together with beautiful movement. There was so much to dance about. www.ohlala-magazine.com

THE PIECES Our favourite accessories and shoes from the RTW collection
Fashion Philosophy We saw the collection evolve with every look at that came our way. You have military coats protecting impalpable dresses. Floral tutus become meager tops; flared skirts are worn with reinterpreted ballet shoes. Fluid draperies in jersey accompany the body. Perceptive bewilderment characterises the robes worn with silk stockings and dance sandals. The dry precision of sartorial discipline, meets floral graciousness and flutters - multiple ruffles, fragile transparencies - in an atmosphere pervaded by a sense of levitas which is the equivalent of joy. The woman is the protagonist of this illustration, free in her gestures and in her thoughts, subject of an experience that bestows to fashion the status of expression and imagination.

Make A Statement UAE based Jelena Bin Drai is a purveyor of classic pieces, enough to make you feel like an absolute goddess. Whether it’s a billowy silhouette or a tailored cape, her AW16 collection is as fairytale as it is fine Who is the Jelena Bin Drai woman? The Jelena Bin Drai, woman is elegant and sophisticated. She is smart, educated and stylish and she does not compromise on quality. She wears high quality pieces but affordability is important – she seeks a wardrobe that works for all occasions so she can feel confident in any environment. What is the brand aesthetic? My fashion label is all about great fittings and quality fabrics for a reasonable price. Not only are my designs created to compliment a woman’s body but it also gives them confidence and exposes their inner and outer beauty. All my pieces are always a mixture of international designs with local values combined. Which celebrity do you hope to see you in your collection? I would love to see Kate Middleton and HH Sheikha Moza wearing my pieces. They always look gorgeous and never cease to amaze me by how they pull off anything they wear. What’s your personal sense of style? Comfort and classiness is definitely my personal style. I’m a businesswoman and a mother of three children. So, during the day I wear anything that’s comfortable to wear and at the same time looks professional and elegant. What influenced you for your latest collection? I was inspired by London and the cold, winter season. It has a lot of monochromatic and bold red colours and a variety of pieces like long skirts and gowns, lightweight coats, chic pants and classic overcoats that can be mixed and matched for any time of the day. Which designers do you look up to? Chanel, Dior and Valentino. They have such beautiful pieces that I can never get enough of. Outside The Box
Bold, daring, innovative, fun and different. These are some of the words that naturally come to mind when describing Reemami. We speak with the very humble Reema Al Banna about how she came to putting musical instruments among other quirky objects into her collections
I
t’s always refreshing to see a growing designer maintain their humility when they chat. It’s all too common to speak with the cream of the budding crop and get earfuls of drawn out self-loving rhetoric Better still, it’s always refreshing when a growing designer shows that talent is built upon through taking less than typical routes, in a roundabout way, to the desired destination. It proves you can do whatever you want, whenever it comes to you, without being so linear. Reema Al Banna is the UAE’s answer to the girl next-door phenomenon. She is earthy yet preened, standing at a considerable height with billowy hair and a knowing smile. She hugs you with a tight, longtime girlfriend-like squeeze. Just like her brand, Reema is cool without trying too hard. Expected the unexpected – whether that is an extension socket or an orchestra of musicians playing the violin, this is sophisticated fashion made fun and intriguing. Reemami’s autumn-winter collection has Seventies vibes courtesy of some uber cool bell bottom trousers, majorly flared sleeves on blouses and an air of comfortable volume. Creativity comes in the form of unusual angles, neat slashes of fabric and optimistic colour palettes. Learning that Reema has a graphic design background (Reema later studied at the French Fashion University in Dubai, ESMOD, before launching Reemami in 2009) is when you suddenly have an ‘aha’ moment. She has taken that experimental nature of graphic design and stitched it into her line, giving it its signature identity of being distinct and simply fun. And if there’s any part of the world that takes fashion very seriously and explores sartorial possibilities, it’s our region. “People want something new and fun from regional designers,” explains Reema. But she is also very present in the Parisian market where we recently met her back in March of this year. “There’s a demand for basics, which I have in this collection. Each season I have a new theme, this time it was about sound, rhythm, repetition and music which you can see in the pieces but I also have staple pieces like the work shirt, but reworked in many ways.” Reema’s world is as eclectic as her brand – “big time” she agrees. “My last collection was about foodstagramming and previous to that was about boxing. I am inspired by my surroundings and what is taking the world by storm,” she adds. She is also influenced by surreal art, illustrations and Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto (“he’s so insane, it’s amazing”). How far is she going to push the style envelope though? Is having a fried egg or a trumpet sitting blatantly on a pair of trousers or on a top as far as she will go? “As long as it’s wearable, I’ll do it! Whatever the idea is, it has to be something a woman wants to wear. I’ll constantly experiment with fabrics and cuts. Fashion changes all the time, I want to cater to whatever may not be available in the market. I will hopefully branch out to jewellery and denim within the next couple of years too.” Sold! When we tell her we are so impressed with how innovative and ‘outside the box’ Reemami is, she practically pepper sprays us with gratitude. It’s obvious she won’t rest on her laurels, however much success she commands. And this is what makes Reema and her brand so endearing.

Local Woman
Mother nature Karen Nicolet, the woman behind Clumsy Chic, is sharing her biggest challenge of them all – being a new mum! The fashion blogger shares what it takes to be a mum for the first time, the risks, challenges, and the most precious moments so far
A
s a new mum, what were some of the expectations you had in mind about having a baby? Everyone told me that being a mummy is hard but since I’ve done graveyard shifts and functioned with little sleep in my job before, I thought it couldn’t be ‘that hard’. Boy was I wrong! Taking care of a baby is HARD. The hours are grueling, the baby requires all of my attention and on top of that, my hormones are out of whack and it’s taken some time for me to feel ‘normal’ again. I also thought I could go back to work after a month but I’ve only just started to ease my way back into blogging after three months. I’d say don’t have any expectations and take everything one day at a time. What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome so far? Everything is a challenge when you’re a new mum - from knowing how to hold your baby properly to breastfeeding to deciphering your baby’s cries. But the day to day stuff wasn’t the biggest challenge for me as I wholeheartedly followed my instincts. A mother’s instincts are powerful once we stop doubting ourselves. I feel like as women and as mums, we naturally put everyone else’s needs first. I learned through experience that going down this path can burn you out hard. I function better and have much more to give to my family when I take a little time out for myself even if it’s just getting some fresh air or meditating for 10 minutes. How has Naomi changed you as a human being, but most importantly, as a woman? It’s true what they say, that you see the world through your child’s eyes. Naomi gave me the motivation to become a better person, friend, wife, and daughter. I want her to grow up loving and accepting herself and my contribution to that is to lead by example. Becoming a mother has made me embrace my strength as a woman. It’s the hardest job in the world and I feel an instant bond and connection with all mums out there. What three pieces of advice would you give to new mums-to-be? My top advice is to follow your instincts. A mother’s instincts are very powerful once we learn to listen and stop doubting ourselves. Every child is different and what you read on the Internet or hear from other mums may work or may not work for your baby. Asking for help is my second piece of advice. The early weeks are tough and you need a network of support to be there to take care of you and help out with the baby. There’s no shame in 64
www.ohlala-magazine.com
asking for help; it really does take a village to raise a baby. Creating a mummy tribe is also really important. Speaking to other mums who are going through the same journey as you is really vital in maintaining your sanity. Once I became a mum, other mums automatically embraced me. I have a small group of what I call my ‘mummy counselors’. You’re such a creative person and we’ve seen that through your blog. How has that changed since Naomi’s birth? At the moment the only thing that has changed is not having the time to blog! But I do intend on growing Clumsy Chic and pouring all my creative energy into the blog. I want to show Naomi the importance of doing what you’re passionate about and working hard to achieve success. That’s the most valuable lesson I’ve learned from my parents that I want to pass on to her. I’m more motivated to move forward since having her; I feel like I can do anything since giving birth! The biggest misconception about motherhood? That being a mum is just about taking care of the baby. Motherhood is the most challenging yet rewarding job. You are responsible for not just providing for your child but also for every action you take and every word you say. It’s a full-time and life-long job. A lot of bloggers nowadays are adding a big amount of their private lives into their social media outlets. What are you thoughts on that and will you make Naomi part of your networking? I was certain that I would fill my social media feed with pictures of her dressed in different outfits but it was quite the opposite. I formed this intimate bond with Naomi and that’s something really precious and private to me. I would occasionally share important milestones, like the first time she smiled on social media, as a way of remembering those moments later. As a blogger, I understand that she will be exposed to this world since a lot of what I write about is personal, but I’d like to find a balance between sharing my journey of motherhood and protecting her privacy. What creative direction are you heading towards with your blog? Clumsy Chic is dedicated to effortlessly infusing beauty into everyday life and that’s the creative direction I’m working on continuing and solidifying. I hope to show readers that happiness comes from living in a way that is a true expression of yourself. I hope to share with the readers my journey to embracing motherhood. I wish to form a community of strong, confident, and spirited women who aren’t afraid to be ‘clumsily chic’. We stumble but it’s about doing it with ease. That’s what life is all about right?

New
Beginnings
A new season brings the chance to wipe the slate clean and start afresh when it comes to getting into a better beauty regime. Angela Beitz tells us how Wear SPF daily
Sun protection is so important, especially in the harsh climate of the GCC. Sunscreen should be part of your morning routine as much as brushing your teeth. Foundations that include a SPF over 30+ are perfect to protect your face and often give you a nice glow. Find a good sunscreen that is mositurising and slather it on in the mornings.
Take off your make-up before bed
We’ve all been guilty in the past of this one, but it wreaks havoc on your skin and clogs your pores. It’s so important to give your skin a thorough clean and to spend at least ten minutes a night on a routine that includes cleanser, toner, a good serum and night cream. Even if you are super lazy, try leaving face wipes beside your bed so that you can ensure to take your make-up off or use a Micellar Water cleanser for quick make-up removal. Upon rising, exfoliate your skin and use a deep cleansing mask to remove hidden impurities.
Don’t overuse product
With so many products to choose from these days it can be super overwhelming when choosing the right products. In terms of skincare, it’s always best to get back to basics and use products that work hard
for you. Use a good cleanser that will clean your skin without stripping moisture, a serum that works for your skin type and moisturisers that address your skin’s needs (dryness, anti-ageing, oiliness etc). When it comes to haircare the same rules apply. Use a shampoo and conditioner that are suited to your hair type and a mask to be used twice a week.
Clean your make-up brushes
Unwashed make-up brushes are a breeding ground for bacteria that can cause nasty breakouts on your skin. It seems like such a simple thing but finding the time to clean your brushes can be hard. Clean brushes are also much more precise when applying product and you don’t want to mix your beautiful beige eyeshadow with your dark black shimmery eyeshadow.
Ease up on the gel-manicures
We all love a gel-mani for their no chip staying power and glossy shine but they are terrible for your nails due to the UV lights and the acetone removers. Give your nails a break by getting a standard manicure or if you are very brave leave them polish free for a few weeks. Use a nourishing cuticle oil daily and taking Hair, Skin and Nail vitamins will really give you stronger nails and you’ll notice a big difference. www.ohlala-magazine.com

Guerlain’s Main Man Guerlain’s very own perfumer, Thierry Wasser gives Ohlala an inside scoop on his beginnings, inspirations and what drives him to excellence
86
www.ohlala-magazine.com
Beauty Insight
You started at such a young age in the botany field, how did that transition into the perfumery industry?
I read an article about fragrance houses in Geneva when I was around 19. I wrote them a little note, and had olfactive tests at Givaudan. After this, it introduced me to the school and this is how it all started. So I arrived in this profession by chance, but starting Givaudan’s Perfumes School made me sure that this will be my way. When starting a new fragrance at Guerlain, what is your method of inspiration? Creating a fragrance is like writing a story and the inspiration fortunately comes from my experiences in life as a trip, an encounter, a discussion … It all starts with a story. I’m telling it with scents instead of words. That’s what comes first in my mind. But each process indeed is very different and there are absolutely no rules. And since I joined Guerlain in 2008, I realised how important the creative job is linked to sourcing and manufacturing; it’s the first step when I create a new fragrance. Travelling the world in search for raw materials, what has been your favourite place to visit for a fragrance? They are all dear to me, but South India is very special to me: For the colours, the smells and the local people. What’s the most challenging perfume you’ve put out and why? I joined Guerlain in June 2008, and I very quickly had to work on a new fragrance; I was so excited, so happy to work for this wonderful brand I dreamed of, that I wanted to tell the whole world of my love and happiness. I wanted to shout out loud how wonderful it was to be there, at Guerlain, with the mission to perpetuate such a proud heritage. This is why I created Idylle, it was my first big challenge.
“Creating a fragrance is like writing a story and the inspiration fortunately comes from my experiences in life as a trip, an encounter, a discussion” And it is made with a bunch of roses, which is my favorite scent. I am also very proud of La Petite Robe Noire as well. How do you personally like your perfumes? I like them to be happy and generous. Describe Guerlain’s perfumery? Rich heritage. Excellence of raw materials. What have been the challenges you’ve encountered at Guerlain and at the helm of perfumery? It was impressive to become the new heir of the Guerlain legacy. For instance, take Jacques Guerlain, the genius who created Shalimar and more than 400 Guerlain fragrances during his life. To be the first perfumer of the House who doesn’t belong to the Guerlain family was an honor and a real challenge at the same time. I see this step as a paramount in my career. It is enormous, it is a dream for me, every day I wake up and tell myself that I am very lucky to work in this wonderful brand. Where do you see the perfumery industry shifting in the next five years? I wish I knew! What can we expect from Guerlain in the region, for the future? I am always listening to what local markets have to say, and so far, our Dubai’s HQ is happy with our portfolio. www.ohlala-magazine.com

Q: Summer left my skin a bit toasted. My face can’t hold much makeup at the minute. Any tips on how to survive this?
A: Don’t stress your skin out. Forgo foundation and opt for something lightweight. Take on the BB cream route, or perhaps conceal areas of need.
A: Do it with coffee. Seriously. Don’t throw out those old coffee grounds, its natural antioxidants will refresh your face and control that puffy area.
Q: My lips are so dry at the minute; it’s unbearable to even add lip balm. Any beauty hack to get me through this?
A: Look no further than sugar! Mix a bit of sugar and honey, and scrub away those dry lips. Do it once a day, until your lips are nourished and healthy.

The secret To a younger look
It’s no lie that a good facial does wonders, but how about a lift massage that activates collagen? We find out more at the Doha Marriott’s Spa, while we also get a wonderful Shellac manicure We all want a younger look
with a smooth and plump face, right? But how about a non-invasive facial massage that will trigger a healthier look? Behold a reconstructive and recontouring facial massage that activates collagen, all at the same time. The LPG Liftmassage is a 100% natural technique that deeply rejuvenates the skin of the face. Hoping to get a bit younger, we made our way to the hotel’s spa on an early morning, and with this heat, it was clearly a struggle. Thankfully the spa was cool and comfortable making it easy to relax and unwind for a great day ahead. We started off with the LPG facial massage, and the therapist, who was kind enough, explained every step of the way of our treatment – one she made sure it was comfortable and professional. She began with cleansing the face using different cleansers that prepped our

Using the LPG machine designed with an advanced technology, our therapist began with a smooth speed lift. If you’re wondering if this technique hurts because of its aesthetic, have no fear because it’s by far the smoothest and most relaxing journey. As our treatment progressed, our therapist started building the intensity and applying different motions to fight trouble areas. Something worth noting, this treatment targets wrinkles, mature skin, lack of elasticity, resculpting and much more. After what seemed to be a good 30 minutes we were done. But the spa treatment continued. We later proceeded with the application of a mask to the face, to restore its glow and bring some youth back, adapting it to our skin type and needs. Something we find utterly important and essential when getting a facial treatment. What seemed to be 60 minutes of pure haven, we ended up getting a well-deserved Shellac manicure to conclude our spa day. Oozing cleanliness (a pet peeve of ours, especially when getting a manicure), we got a shiny and glossy Shellac manicure by one of the spa’s professional manicurist. And let us tell you it was worth every minute as the Shellac lasted up to two weeks with no chipping! For more information or reservations call: 4429 8520 www.ohlala-magazine.com 103

Shades of Autumn
Fall is just around the corner and Pallavi Patil, our resident contributor, gives us tips and tricks on how to transition our beauty regimes into an autumn-approved one
You can feel it in the air! Summer is ending, we can pretend it isn’t, but it is. The transition to fall has begun. The precise timing of this is hard to say exactly, an ambiguity that can make the process of changing your makeup routine seem annoying and confusing. The truth is that making the switch is easy! Considering the old adage, everything in moderation: with some tweaking, your transition from summer to fall make up can be an easy one. I hate goodbyes! Parting with your summer glow is no fun but luckily for us there are a few ways to fake it. Instead of applying your regular self-tanner all over your face, mix a small amount with your daily moisturiser. It will give your face less of an intense tan but still maintain that summer glow, while applying bronzer under the cheekbones as a contour. Contouring creates balance and definition to your face. This will also allow the transition to a lighter bronze to be more gradual. This fall, give a couple of bold colours a try! Whether you go for matte or glossy, give your lips a breathtaking variety of colours to stand out. Deep ruby colours are perfect for Middle Eastern skin tones, while rosy blush completes any autumn makeup. Another beauty tip you cannot miss this fall is smokey eyes. Swerve 104 www.ohlala-magazine.com
from the traditional black and charcoal hues in favour of bright colours. Purple looks perfect with any eye colour and it’s one of the most universal colours for a glamorous evening look. As a rule, if you opt for distinct eyes, I recommend playing down your lip colour. But if you want to leave a lasting impression, don’t be afraid to add a statement red. Don’t forget about seductive, warm brown shades. Mild brown shades are perfect for almost all skin tones. Apply dusty brown shadows all over your upper lid and contour your eyes with deep black eyeliner. For a more distinct look you can colour the lower waterline and then cover your lashes with a few coats of brown mascara. For an overall warm look, use bronzer and copper lipstick. And ladies remember: Whether you’re expecting a clear autumn day or a gray one, your skin still needs protection from aging and ultraviolet rays. Choose a sunscreen containing finely milled titanium oxide, for an everyday wear this fall. Follow your regular C+T+M routines and enjoy the season, as one should. bags of elegance Inspired by Italian culture and hand-crafted in Italy, Belquis stands out as a unique and luxurious brand offering top quality to Middle Eastern women. Reem Salman, shares an insight on her brand, style, and what makes a woman shine with elegance What drove you to start a luxury brand?
Italy is a country known for its sophisticated and refined taste in fashion. On the other hand the Middle Eastern woman appreciates distinguished craftsmanship and design, so this was a match made in heaven to introduce my designs to my clientele and keep the key elements of all what Italians are proud of. What is your inspiration behind the brand and your luxury products? Italy and everything about it: Culture, art, fashion, nature and the magic behind the true leatherwork that they make. Leather craftsmanship is not only about the skills that are passed from one generation to the other, but also it’s a heritage and a culture that we are so in love with. What kind of woman buys a Belquis bag? A fashionable and elegant woman who looks for quality pieces and wears them with confidence. A chic girl who doesn’t overthink an outfit and puts together a fuss free look and never over styles! 108 www.ohlala-magazine.com
What three things should women always be? Three things Belquis bags are: Elegant, unique to her style and personality and feminine. And those three empowering characteristics should be always in strong Belquis women. What are your views on Middle Eastern fashion? We are seeing a huge leap in the last decade, we are very proud that the Middle Eastern designers are reining over some of the biggest platforms of fashion and competing with Italian and French designers. We love and support all local and emerging talents and always find it enriching to have all these talents from the Middle East all come together and support each other. What is your creative process when designing your bags? A lot of it starts with brainstorming about colours and models that we think are missing from the fashion scene. We try to follow the season’s colours but highlight the colour nuances that we feel fit to our bags. After choosing the colours and drawing new models and shapes we fly to Florence for a prototype model of the bags and see the leather patches and accessories. We leave it to the hands of amazing artisans in Florence to bring our bags to life! What can we expect from Belquis for the rest of this 2016? Belquis bags will be present in more events and selected popups due to high demand, and we are trying to also be present regionally. We promise to be around on fashion days and events.

Miss Ohlala
miami heat
It seems that every time I travel, I tend to ask myself the same question over and over again: What am I doing in Doha? For the past nine years I’ve been quite complacent with my residency in the country. A place where I’ve built a home; where I’ve had way too many failed relationships, and where I’ve come to establish an identity of my own. And it comes as no surprise that after returning from my amazing trip from Miami; Doha seemed duller than ever. As a 26-year-old woman, I’m constantly in search for more, thirsty for knowledge, for the next big art movement, which at the moment – or actually for the past 9 years – Doha hasn’t been able to provide. Not only was Miami an eye opener to many things, but also, it had me questioning certain areas where a 26 year-old lacks when living in the region. If you’re a Millennial living here, like myself, haven’t you ever asked this next question: What are we losing by staying in the Middle East? It’s a constant battle I go back and forth ever so often. What are the pros and cons to staying in a country where its development is slow, and not up to date as opposed to great big cities? Don’t get me wrong, I love Doha, I love its people and I love every bit it has offered to my advantage. 114 www.ohlala-magazine.com
But how far does a young adult go here? And how much are we willing to lose in exchange for a ‘great’ salary and trip to a luxurious hotel? Are we that vein to sacrifice walks to the park, a ride on the bus, or perhaps a visit to a great contemporary exhibition? How much do we have to sacrifice for that perfect CV, or maybe, for that next big break? Certainly Doha, as I’ve come to learn, is not built for everybody. I’ve lost friends and relationships because they weren’t willing to face the crude reality of what this place has to offer. Folks like myself, struggle with the idea of someday leaving for a spark of change. However, will we ever adjust? Will young adults be as complacent with the day-to-day struggle that perhaps Europe, America and other places have to offer? Call me pessimistic, but this is the reality I’ve come to learn after living here for almost a decade. Some get comfortable and needy for the Middle East’s easiness, while others leave without looking back. Miss Ohlala is being extra dramatic this month, so please bear with her…
