HUMAN RESOURCES INTERN Internship Description: University Emergency Medicine Foundation (UEMF) is an Academic Emergency Medical Practice, with over 85 full-time physicians, several midlevel providers, various part-time providers, and a full support team. As a Department of Brown University School of Medicine, UEMF provides staffing of Board Certified Emergency Physicians to the region's only Level I Trauma Center as well as the state's only children's specialty Emergency Department; and to a leading community hospital. Over 200,000 patients are treated by UEMF providers annually. VOLUNTEER ADVOCATE - DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT AND HATE CRIMES Internship Description: Volunteer advocates provide support, information, referrals and safety planning to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and hate crimes at hospitals and police departments throughout Rhode Island. Receive 30 hours of training to provide you with the skills, confidence and knowledge that will enable you to work with victims of all ages. The next training will begin in June 2014. PRE-ADMISSION TESTING INTERNSHIP Internship Description: The PAT Intern will directly assist the Pre-Admission testing team with a wide range of projects related to the responsibilities of the department. POLICY INTERN Internship Description: Interns with an interest in policy making will support the RICADV’s 2014 legislative campaign and other systems change work for the organization. The role will include researching policy issues related to domestic violence in order to support our legislative advocacy; conducting research on legal issues related to domestic violence (e.g. criminal law, housing law, constitutional law); writing policy memos; analyzing state domestic violence data; and organizing lobby days for RICADV supporters at the State House. We provide academic credit for quality internship opportunities in nearly any field anywhere in the US Students can choose to pursue an internship from our established placements or may design their own Students may participate in paid and unpaid internships for academic credit
