Please Come To a Special Presentation About the Schuylkill River RIVER DREAMS: History, Hope & the Imagination by award-winning author Beth Kephart Date: Tuesday, October 14, 2014 Time: 7-9 p.m. Place: Montgomery County Community College West Campus South Hall Community Room 101 College Drive Pottstown, PA 19464
This event is free. Register at riverdreams.eventbrite.com or by calling the Schuylkill River Heritage Area at 484-945-0200. Registration is not required but suggested.
About the Author Kephart is a National Book Award finalist and an acclaimed author and educator. Her book, Flow: The Life and Times of Philadelphia’s Schuylkill River, is an imaginative telling of the life of the Schuylkill River written in short, impressionistic chapters. The book was published in 2007 by Temple University Press, and was recently released in paperback. Kephart will speak about the place the Schuylkill has in her own imagination, the impact rivers have on our lives, and the legacy of those who have worked to restore Philadelphia’s essential waterways. The Schuylkill was named Pennsylvania’s 2014 River of the Year. Kephart’s talk, entitled RIVER DREAMS: History, Hope and the Imagination, was developed by the author as the keynote address for the Schuylkill River Heritage Area’s River of the Year Speaker Series. This event was organized by the Schuylkill River Heritage Area in recognition of the Schuylkill River as Pennsylvania’s 2014 River of the Year. Learn more at www.schuylkillriver.org
