Hello! Today we are in Messy Monster’s magic allotment.

‘Hey! Our green veg is ready to eat’, says Messy Monster.

Yummy!

You can eat it raw,

It is delicious grilled.

You can drink it, or cook it.

You can even make a super big green bubble with it!

Then‌ My ears are growing,

growing!

growing!

and a tail too, plus some long hair on Messy Monster‌

Oops! What did you do Messy Monster!

We grow,

grow,

grow bigger than the trees...

and bigger than the houses!

With Messy Monster, it’s so much fun to eat our greens!

Our questions with

ZIM, ZAM & ZOOM Story by: Dr. Sophie. Illustration by: Kaz Takahashi

Are your pyjamas too small? What happened? Did you stretch? Are you sure they are your pyjamas? Yes you have grown! ZIM is getting bigger too. Look, he is getting measured!

What happens when we grow? Put this page against the window to see all the bones of your skeleton.

Look inside your body.

Your bones are growing. When your skeleton gets bigger, the body follows and grows too.

To grow, the bones need sun and water just like plants and also good food and lots of sleep. Bones will grow stronger if you exercise. Having milk, yoghurt and cheese also helps because they all contain a lot of calcium.

It’s not a dream. I am growing when I am sleeping. (When they don’t carry your weight your bones can grow more easily)

Let’s make a paper chatterbox Cut page along dotted line

Lets start with the exercise game

Fold the corners into the centre

It should look like this.

Flip the paper over

Fold the corners into the centre

until you have a square again.

Fold the square in half.

Unfold and fold in half the other way.

Make a diamond shape

and put your fingers inside

Ready to play? Ask for a number

Open and close the chatterbox that many times

Pick a number and look inside to see what you have to do.

To play the food game open up the paper. Have the skeleton facing up and start folding the corners again.

Broccoli is Messy Monster’s favourite. Oranges are delicious and full of vitamins. Milk gives you healthy teeth and bones. Bananas make you really healthy and strong.

Carrots help you see better.

Pasta gives you lots of energy for exercise.

Yoghurt makes your bones grow strong. Spinach makes your muscles strong.

The Kingdom of Teeth

I’m the King of Teeth. Welcome to my kingdom.

Invaders follow the smell of the lollipops and come to destroy my land.

I like having lots of lollipops around me.

I don’t want to seem weak, but the invaders were strong.

The dentist is my good friend, and a very helpful one indeed!

With his help, I became strong again.

I will not allow myself to become weak again.

Now I have a healthy and lovely family.

Suddenly Sukie and her friends found themselves in a wonderful and colourful garden. There standing in the middle of the garden was a Magic Paintpot Tree. Hanging on the branches were six paint pots - red, yellow, purple, pink, green and blue. At last Sukie could be an artist.
