How to choose the right rolling paper
Rolling papers come in a variety of materials, sizes, and thicknesses. When choosing a rolling paper, it is important to consider what kind of smoking experience you are looking for. For example, if you want a slow, smooth burn, you will want to choose thicker paper. Thicker papers will burn more slowly, but they can also be more difficult to roll and may produce more smoke. If you are looking for an organic smoking experience, you may want to choose a rolling paper made from hemp or rice. Some rolling papers even come flavored, so if that is something you are interested in, be sure to look for papers that are labeled as such. With so many options on the market, there is sure to be a rolling paper that is perfect for you.
STEP-BY-STEP ON HOW TO ROLL A JOINT
01. Grinding the Cannabis
Grinding cannabis is an essential step in the smoking process. If you don't grind your weed, it will be difficult to roll a joint or pack a bowl. Additionally, properly ground cannabis allows for better airflow and burning, making your smoking experience more enjoyable. There are a variety of ways to grind cannabis, but the most important thing is to use a grinder that suits your needs. If you're smoking alone, a small, manual grinder will do the trick. However, if you're smoking with a group, you'll need a larger grinder that can handle a larger quantity of weed. Electric grinders are also available, but they can be more expensive and less portable than manual grinders. No matter what type of grinder you choose, make sure to clean it regularly to prevent the buildup of old cannabis residue. With a little practice, you'll be able to grind your weed like a pro!
02. Create a crutch, filter, cone, or tip It's all the same
The use of crutches when smoking a joint can help to minimize the risk of burning your lips or inhaling tiny bits of marijuana. They also help to boost the airflow through a joint, making it easier to hit and hold. There are plenty of smoke shop dispensaries and convenient stores that carry pre-made crutched that can make it easier for you as well.
03. Fill the rolling paper with cannabis
Place the crutch at one end of the paper now you should have enough marijuana sprinkled on the paper in line with the crutch. The marijuana should be evenly spread throughout the joint, and you should avoid overstuffing it. Once the paper has the right amount, usually about a halfgram to a full gram you can begin to form and shape the joint with your fingers.
04. Roll the joint
Using your fingers shape the paper into a taco shape and roll the paper back and forth evenly to distribute the cannabis throughout the joint. Work the weed into a cylinder shape, not so loose that it will burn unevenly and not so tight that it will restrict airflow.
To roll a joint, start by tucking the non-adhesive side of the paper over the weed. Then, slowly roll it towards the adhesive side, tucking in the bud as you go. Use your thumbs to roll and your index fingers to support the outside. If some weed falls out during the rolling process don't worry we will come back for it.
05. Seal the joint
This is an important step in creating a quality joint. Make sure to tuck the unglued side of the paper into the roll, and then roll it up. Next, lick an edge of the glued side to tack down one end of the paper. Be sure to use just a little bit of moisture.
Tip: Start with the crutch side because it can help guide the paper as it rolls around itself. Once the paper is tacked down on one end, you can work your way down the rest of the seam by tucking and sealing the joint.
This step is key in ensuring a tight seal and a high-quality joint. Be sure to take your time and be precise in order to create a joint that will last.
06. Pack the joint
Finally, that you have a good roll pick up any loose cannabis and put it into the top, opened end of the joint. Use a dab tool, pen, or similar object to pack down the cannabis towards the mouthpiece. Pinch the paper on the opened end and twist it together.
07. Enjoy!
Now that you know how to roll a joint, it's time to enjoy your handiwork! But first, find that damn lighter!
Light up and take a few puffs, letting the smooth smoke fill your lungs. Enjoy the taste and aroma of your joint, and savor the effects of the cannabis as they start to set in. Remember to take it slow at first, especially if you're new to smoking joints — you can always have another one later!
