Wanna Smoke? Alpaca Bowl
Do You Smoke? Alpaca Bowl – An innovative cannabis delivery company that puts community first
Do you dream of owning your own dispensary? Sounds exciting! Several years ago, I was assigned to oversee and run a cannabis dispensary. It was necessary for me to quickly become familiar with state and county regulations. My first task was to ensure the dispensary was compliance. Then to find out what was selling and what wasn't. We took inventory and reviewed the data. Just like running a retail business, you must be reviewing your inventory of products that are in demand and products that are taking up by shelf space. If you don't know what you're doing, it can be difficult. Respect is due to those who operate their dispensaries and correctly.
This can be a challenging environment for dispensary owners. I talked with Matt Pasqual, from the Alpaca Club in Sacramento, about the challenges of running a successful and strategic business.
"Taxation is one of today's biggest challenges. “We've been fighting for lower taxes for the community,” Matt said. For some time, he and others have been campaigning on this issue. The California legislature passed AB 195 in June of 2022. With this change, the state's cannabis cultivation tax has been eliminated, and its excise tax has been capped at 15%. For at least three years, it will remain at 15%. There is still a lot of work to be done, but it is a start. Among growers, distributors, and resellers, taxes are the most important issue."
Matt is a part of a campaign to educate customers about the benefits of cannabis with Dr. Bonners and Sun and Earth.
Currently, Matt runs two delivery dispensaries, one in Sacramento and one in Venice. There will be a third store in Fresno and then another in the Inland Empire of Los Angeles. There is no doubt that he has a solid business plan. I wondered how he balances out his store and still supports small farms. According to him, 80% of his flower is purchased from small batch farms in Mendocino, Humboldt, and Nevada Counties. Considering that he runs the Alpaca Club dispensary, he even buys from farms with Alpacas (Down Om Farms, Swami, and SunRoots). “Want to smoke? Alpaca bowl for you”, is a well-known meme and joke that encompasses the best world of stoners. Through sustainability, inclusion, and their love of weed.”
What makes the Alpaca Club so successful? Business planning that is smart, and customer service that is knowledgeable and excellent. Clients at the Alpaca Club are given the attention and education they deserve. There are many dispensaries throughout California and the United States to choose from. A few dispensaries specialize in small farmer products, while others do not. They know their products and how they can assist in the medical cannabis industry. The majority of them do not. It is rare to find a dispensary that meets your recreational needs and your medicinal needs at the same time. Many of us rely on medicinal cannabis for health reasons. How does cannabis benefit Matt? Matt responded,
How many of us can agree with Matt?
