Looking at Long-term Stability in a New Light

deadCenter Film is already one of the “20 Coolest Film Festivals in the World,” according to MovieMaker magazine. This year, they became one of the newest endowments at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.

Established to honor retired Executive Director Lance McDaniel and his decade of leadership, the deadCenter Film Fund is helping secure the future of filmmaking, visual storytelling and virtual reality technology in the state. Ahead of the fund’s establishment, board and staff decided to leverage a Kirkpatrick Family Fund matching grant to kick start the fundraising campaign and garner community support. The strategy proved successful – even after reaching its establishing minimum, the fund continues to receive gifts from new and seasoned supporters who recognize the value of creating a perpetual support mechanism for the organization.
