Trusted Support In Ever-Changing Times
Established in 1982, the Hillel Foundation for Jewish Campus Life at the University of Oklahoma endowment fund has grown tremendously over the years, receiving more than 250 individual gifts ranging from $10 to $20,000. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hub for Jewish Student Life on the Norman campus provided a home-away-from-home for anyone in need of an open and welcoming environment. Beyond Shabbat services and warm meals, the hub has been a place to meet new friends, study and simply hang out between classes.
Since March, the Hillel Foundation has had to significantly adjust operations and rely heavily on their endowment distribution to continue supporting their staff as they meet the needs of students, parents and the community via phone, video chats, emails and appointments. It’s a wonderful legacy that every donor to their endowment fund over the past 38 years has contributed to meeting the unexpected needs and challenges of today.
