In this table, official representatives of the governing entities of the sector have space to expose the different policies and experiences of the countries of the region, including the discussion of current international issues as well as mechanisms and measures implemented by the countries to address the different economicenergy scenarios that impact the region.
Among the functions granted to OLADE by the Lima Agreement, signed in 1973, are the promotion and adoption of effective measures between the Member States as well as making necessary recommendations in order to stop environmental pollution derived from exploitation, transportation, storage and utilization of energy resources from within the Region. Also, to encourage the exchange and dissemination of information regarding energy resources. Taking such functions as reference, the Ministers of Energy of Latin America and the Caribbean, through a Declaration signed in Medellin, Colombia in the year 2007, agreed to make the necessary efforts in the promotion and development of energy sustainable energy development of the Region. One of the main outcomes of this declaration is institutionalization of the Energy America and the Caribbean, which has become the main regional forum for dialogue and exchange of experiences on energy In this occasion, the 7th edition as a “Pillar of Sustainable Energy Development�. Within the framework of the decisions taken at the COP 21 and the Sustainable Development Goals, countries of the region have recognized the opportunity of actions in all the consumption sectors, considering that to increase the impact of action, it is essential to unleash the potential of both public and
