Following the brewery’s reconstruc*on aKer the bombings of World War I, a top-fermented, refreshing ale was created as an alterna*ve to high-alcohol offerings, while s*ll remaining true to Belgian beer tradi*ons. The use of champagne malts gives PALM its signature amber color, along with a citrus and caramel taste and a las*ng, clean finish. At 5.2% ABV, Palm is a refreshing alterna*ve to heavy ales and IPAs, and it is more flavorful and approachable than today’s pilsners and lagers.

“The brilliantly clear amber body and the slowly dissipa*ng ivory head delivers an aroma of biscuits, caramel, toast, and honey. The esters dominant in other Belgian styles are not present here. The flavor is a delicate, complex, well-balanced blend of bread crust, honey and floral hops with hints of fruity esters. The finish off the medium body and medium-high carbona*on is crisp and dry. This is a subtly complex and versa*le session beer worthy of explora*on. This beer is also quite comfortable complemen*ng a plate of fries, a picnic with friends, or the sunset on the back deck.“

Brasserie St. Feuillien (“Foo-Yen”) had it’s start in the 7th century, when an Irish monk named Foylan—a name which later morphed into the more French “Feuillien”—was killed in the village of Le Roeulx. A chapel was built in his honor, which, over time, became the Abbey St. Feuillien du Roeulx. The abbey featured a brewery to support itself, but was destroyed in the French Revolution. In 1873 the Friart family resumed brewing operations and to this day a portion of the proceeds is donated to charitable causes around the world, making St. Feuillien one of Belgium’s oldest and most authentic Abbey Ales.

ASTRA is Germany's cult beer from the St. Pauli district of Hamburg. Beer Advocate, 85 pts, said it best: CLEAN, HAY, FIZZY This is one of those no-frills Pilsners, a staple blue-collar beer, an industrial lager of sortsand we don’t mean this in any sort of negative tone. The world needs beers like this, yellow and fizzy but with flavor. Way too easy to quaff back, a real treat for what it is.

This is not a craft beer. It is to be drank by the gallon! For that reason the beer is smooth and very drinkable, perfect for a session. There is low bitterness and the overall feel to the beer is of a little bit of malt, a little bit of hops with a tinge of acidity. It goes down well, and is a beer to enjoy football with, and that’s all you really want from a session beer.

Despite this they sell as much beer as they can possibly produce and continue to be a local favorite. In 1294, the Augustinian Hermits established a monastery just outside of period Munich. 34 years later in 1328, they built their brewery on the monastery grounds where the monks continued to operate it independently for nearly 500 years. During the 500 years of operation by monks, their beer was sold to the public in their monastery tavern and was prized by Munich so much that the Monarch spared the brewery from taxation as thanks.

C.A. Veltins Grevensteiner Original

Kellerbier - 5.2% ABV - 18 IBU

4×6pk 330ml cans & 50L keg

C. & A. Veltins Grevensteiner Original is a throwback to the brewery's origins. The aroma of this beer is a rich with nutty, toasty, sweet malt notes up front and a very low level of grassy, hay-like hop accent in the rear. It pours with a beautiful deep amber color, that is mildly hazy and topped off with a small bubbled white head that persists around the edge of the glass. As is typical of an amber Kellerbier, the flavor has a bold, toasty, sweet melanoidin (biscuit and honey) malt character with a slightly peppery, hop flavor and a moderately low hop bitterness. It is definitively malt-balanced, with a medium dry finish and a light hop flavor that lingers to the end. The alcohol is smooth, yet apparent – the medium carbonation makes the mouthfeel is a little prickly on the tongue, however there is no astringency and the medium-light body makes it an inviting beverage to sip and savor. It is easy drinking and would make a delicious accompaniment to richly flavored sausages and cheese.
