DESIGN PRODUCTION - DIGITAL
END OF MODULE SELF-EVALUATION NAME
Oliver Cassell
1. What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them? I have learned many skills since beginning this module ranging from story boarding to technical skills with after effects. Learning to story board has helped me effectively get my ideas onto a piece of paper in a way which helps me understand what will happen and when, this has been used throughout the module, other skills include technical ones used again throughout the module, I have used my spare time in this module to teach my self further skills that we had not learned in after effects sessions
2. What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have they informed your design development process? My main developed approach to design production is storyboarding again, I much prefer to begin with thumbnail sketches to get as many ideas down as possible and to then move onto A3 sized storyboards, if I didn始t do these my designs would be shocking, the more I storyboard, the more ideas I generate, they speed up the design process in a significant way.
3. What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these?
-
Furthered Technical skills within after effects. Application of music. Relevant media and approach. Wide body of context.
I will continue to use after effects in later briefs for personal projects if I can, in order to keep up to scratch, I will also continue to keep a large body of context for later briefs.
4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future? -
Time Management. Not a very broad range of deliverables. Could have done more research.
Time Management is a problem I have always faced, although it is getting better it can still be improved. In the future I need to make sure I develop a wide range of deliverables and try not to stick to one style throughout a project.
5. Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these?
-
Manage my time better. Develop a broader range of deliverables. Gather a wider range of context. Stay later after college ends.
By applying all of these to the next module, It will help me develop a broader range of concepts for a brief, a wider range of context to aid my design, and by managing my time better develop more work and more deliverables.
6.How would you grade yourself on the following areas: (please indicate using an 驶x始) 5= excellent, 4 = very good, 3 = good, 2 = average, 1 = poor 1 2 3 4 5 / Attendance / Punctuality / Motivation / Commitment / Quantity of work produced / Quality of work produced Contribution to the group The evaluation of your work is an important part of the assessment criteria and represents a percentage of the overall grade. It is essential that you give yourself enough time to complete your written evaluation fully and with appropriate depth and level of self-reflection. If you have any questions relating to the self evaluation process speak to a member of staff as soon as possible.
