Clad in orange T-shirts and running shoes, Shine.FM listeners and Olivet students, faculty, staff and alumni banded together as “Team Shine” to raise critical funding for World Vision through the 2012 Chicago Marathon. Together with the entire Team World Vision (TWV), they helped raise a staggering total of $1.6 million that will be used to provide clean water to impoverished villages in Africa.

“Schools designated as ‘Colleges of Distinction’ create wellrounded graduates and are among the very best in the country,” said executive editor of Colleges of Distinction™ Tyson Schritter.    Colleges and universities are nominated for participation in Colleges of Distinction through high school counselors’ recommendations, as well as quantitative research.    Once nominated, the colleges are assessed for four distinctions: student engagement, quality of teaching, vibrancy of the college community and success of graduates.
