FOR THIS BRIEF I WAS TASKED TO RENDER A BASIC BRANDED T-SHIRT, INTO SOMETHING INNOVATIVE, THAT REPRESENTS LEEDS.

I TOOK THIS BRIEF AS A OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE, I DIDN’T LET THE MARKS TOURTURE ME AS IT WAS A FIRST YEAR PROJECT I WANTED TO PUSH MYSELF INTO DOING SOMETHING I HADN’T DONE IN THE PAST AND HAD SOME FUN WITH IT. THROUGHOUT THIS BREIF I DID SOME COOL HUNTING IN LEEDS WHICH INVOLVED APPROACHING THE PUBLIC TO ASK THEM QUESTIONS ABOUT THEIR STYLE. I DIDNT JUST APPROACH YOUNG STUDENTS I SEARCHED FOR ALL AGES AND GOT A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF THE PEOPLE THAT LIVED AND SHOPPED IN LEEDS. AFTER DOING MY RESEARCH I FOUND OUT THAT ALOT OF THE CANDIATES SAID THAT THE WEATHER WAS A BIG FACTOR OF LEEDS AS A CITY.
I CHANGED MY T-SHIRT INTO A WATER PROFE ADDING ON PVC AND FROM MY STREET STYLE IMAGES I FOUND THAT NETTED MATERIAL WAS WHAT WAS BEING WORN SO I ALSO ADDED THAT TO MAKE SLEEVES.

THE BRIEF WAS TO CREATE A NEW BRAND BASED ON A CHOSEN CONCEPT. THE AIM WAS TO DEVELOP OUR CAD SKILLS, USING PHOTOSHOP, INDESIGN AND ILLUSTRATOR. WE HAD TO CREATE A BLOG AND A ZINE BASED ON OUR CONCEPT.

THIS WAS MY BRAND INSPIRED BY MENS JAPANESSE STREET STYLE AND STREET STYLE PHOTOGRAPHER JIM YONG. I CREATED A ZINE AND A LOOKBOOK WITH MY OWN STYLING, I USED HIGH STREET BRANDS AS INSPIRATION. MY STYLING CONSISTED OF MONOCHROME, SPORTS WEAR. INCLUDING LONG DROP HOODING AND T-SHIRTS. THE SHOOT TOOK PLACE IN LEEDS CITY CENTRE. MODELS: KARL SPENCER, REES NEWS AND JAMIE SMITH

I RESEARCHED INTO THE BRAND, INCLUDING THE LEEDS STORE, TARGET AUDIENCE AND THE REGUALR CUSTOMER PROFILES. I MET THE TARGET AUDIENCE AS IT IS A YOUNG MALE MODEL, THE MALE MODELS ON THE URBAN OUTFITTERS WEBSITE MAINLY HAD TATTOOS AND FAICAL HAIR. THE ILLUSTRAITION OVER THE PHOTOGRAPH HAS BEEN INSPIRED AND DEVELOPED FROM SOME OF THE ARCHITECTURE FROM AROUND LEEDS.

THE AIM OF THIS BRIEF WAS TO DEVELOP AN UNDERSTANDING OF A RANGE OF CREATIVE STRATAGIES. IT ENCORAGED ME TO UNDERSTAND PRACTICAL PROBLEM SOLVING, AND TO DEVELOP A CONCEPTUAL FASHION IDEA THROUGH A RANGE OF CREATIVE STRATAGIES. I CREATED MY BRAND AROUND THE CONCEPT OF LIGHT WEIGHT MATERIALS BEING RESRICTED BY HEAVY OBJECTS AND MATERIALS. MY BRAND WAS BASED AROUND TRANSPARENT LOOSE FABRICS. AIMED AT A HIGH END FASHION AUDIENCE, BUT WITH A PRACTICAL LOOK.
