Business Name We decided on the business name Print Nation as we liked how it dismisses the idea of us staying in one place, making us more accessible than other print based companies. We also feel it is ideal as it does not specify a type of print production, much like our company itself- we are there to educate people on a number of print processes and image making processes.
Business Activity We're a group of professional printmakers selling personal work, and providing a flexible workshop service for people and organisations interested in trying traditional printing methods at various levels.
Mission Statement - Our accessibility to the community and educational organisations as well as creatives is what makes us unique to this sector. - We tailor our professional workshop services to specific ages, backgrounds, professions and abilities including those with learning difficulties or disabilities. -An educational but fun learning experience- chilled out, friendly environment. -Individual profit through each of us selling our own work
Business Objectives In the first 12 months - We wish to have established ourselves greatly within the educational design field. - We hope to have had recognition from the creative industry. In the following 2 years - We want to cement our brand itself. - Expand the service to a national scale- more vans and employees - A stationary site for workshops where there is more space to teach and for larger groups. What is our long term/5 year goal - Bringing in guest artists and illustrators
Legal status -Ordinary business Partnership -4 of us are all equally liable for our finances -Initially we couldn’t afford the external costs of being a limited business -We’d look into this after the first couple of years
Who Are Your Customers? Where are they?/where do they go? - We hope to appeal to a broad range of ages and people who are intrigued to find out how printed images are made. - Schools, after school classes, school fetes, festivals, art fairs, further education courses, mature education courses, village fates. How many groups of customer are there? - Young school children - Teachers - Children/teenages who show a interest in art - gcse/a levels/foundations - People with a general interest in how images are produced. - People with spare time on their hands and are interested in a new hobby. Why would they buy from you rather than anyone else? people can create and buy own prints. because there is only a small amount of us, our work will be recognisable, creating a strong brand identity. How much will the average customer spend with you? and how often? as we deliver a service, we understand that we may only be used a couple of times a year by individual customers, but in terms of organizations, we will hopefully be used on a regular basis - for example regular school workshops.
Describe the organisation - We will start with four members of staff, one van and a small base studio - We will hire an accountant What are their individual roles? - Arranging workshops and taking calls from clients - Ordering and taking in stock - Workshop preparation - Teaching - IT - Cleaning - Driving - Promotion - Health and safety
