Storyboard

For my ‘Taylor Swift for Victoria’s Secret’ shoot, I chose three themes: Baby Doll, Silver Bullet and Vixen. I based these themes off of two criteria’s, Taylor Swift fashion mixed with past Victoria’s Secret lingerie styles. With the combination of the two criteria’s, I created the color palette.

B

aby Doll is the more subtle and softer color palette. I created this theme by looking at a picture of Taylor Swift toward the beginning of her music career. She’s wearing a creamy-taupe colored dress. The main primary colors are magenta, baby pink, cream and white. I thought this would appeal to the Victoria’s secret customer that is just starting to purchase their bras. I thought it would hold hands well with Victoria’s Secret Pink line. The makeup would be plain eye with pink lips and the hair would be both soft and wavy or down and straight. The poses would be more playful with lots of smiling and bent knees. The photographer I chose for this shoot was Simon Powell. While researching Powell, I noticed a lot of his lingerie photos were soft and a little bit muted. I think that fits with my theme, because that’s the route I’m taking with the color palette.

ixen. I created this look based on some of Taylors Red Carpet looks. She once wore a black dress and also wears a lot of red. The primary colors for this palette are red, black, white and gold. The makeup would be more glam, so brown smoky eye with red lips or a light colored eye with dark red lips. The posing would be more sensual and vulnerable. I want to play up the makeup and tone with rest down. This can appeal to the more mature teen ages 18 to 20. The photographer I chose for this theme was Adam Von Mack. His aesthetic for his editorial shoots are very stark and matte looking. There isn’t a ton of shine. I think Von Mack’s matted aesthetic can counter act the boldness of the color palette, making it softer and more high fashion-y.

ilver Bullet is a more edgy palette. I created this look from Taylor’s performance dress from the 2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The dress was short and silver, but the lighting in the back of her was blue. She’s dressed sort of glam rock. The primary colors for this theme are black, silver, baby blue and white. I wanted to showcase the black and white of glam, with the blue and gray of rock. The makeup would be a dark black, kind of messy smoky eye with nude lips, creating a lot of contrast. The hair would be messy curly or big curly hair. The posing would be more seductive, but subtle. Poses like hands above the head, or hands on the hips. This can appeal to a woman’s transition from midteens to 18. The photographer I chose for this shoot was Michael David Adams. I chose him because I noticed a large percentage of his photos have darkness to them. They’re high fashion, with a darker feel. Adams has been featured in Elle and Vogue in the past. A lot of photos are high contrast as well, making them appear to be bold.
