Welcome back to Omaha Fashion Week! We are excited to be back on the runway after taking a season off last spring due to the pandemic. The past 18 months have been full of Glitches, which is the theme for this season. We are celebrating the beauty in life’s glitches with a sense of joy & wild abandonment in these crazy times! With a record number of designers from all over the US, a revitalized OFW Beauty Alliance, and the return of Shop the Runway Sunday, we are excited to be back in person.

Despite being off the runway last season, we were able to bring some great programming to our fashion community that included Zoom discussions with some big names in fashion, including casting director James Scully and Nebraska-native fashion designer Thakoon! We were thrilled to provide access to these conversations free of charge.

OFW is a labor of love for our family and the amazing team of people who help us put it on each season. At the end of 2020, we said goodbye to a very special young man who had been part of our OFW family since 2012 – Jeff Hanson. Jeff was a blind artist whose paintings helped raise nearly $7 million for charity in his 27 years of life. His mission was to change the world through art. He applied his designs to several collections of beautiful dresses that were shown on the OFW runway through the years. This season we honor Jeff and his parents, Hal & Julie Hanson, with the Spirit of Sabrina Jones Award. Please join us in celebrating Jeff’s contribution to the world and the continuation of his legacy.

Speaking of labor…Nick and I are preparing to welcome a new member to our family in just two days. When you see me at OFW this season, I just might have a brand-new baby boy in my arms! There is lots of change on the horizon for us personally and for OFW.

Join us in wishing Buf Reynolds the best of luck as she moves on after serving for 14 years as a beloved OFW veteran designer, mentor, and indispensable member of our team. She will continue to serve on our selection panel as a mentor to designers. Brianna Anderson will take over as our Director of Community and Talent. Destiny Southern will move into the Marketing Specialist role.
