The creation of a fashion garment involves many precise calculations, high levels of skill, infinite patience and loads of hard work. The same attributes are behind Omaha Fashion Week; we are all about piecing together raw talent, which is the theme for OFW 2010. Omaha Fashion Week serves as an incubator for local designers, models, stylists, photographers and artists. With Omaha Fashion Week, we provide a platform for the amazing Omaha creative community to grow and expand. Just as every piece of clothing begins with a single piece of fabric, Omaha Fashion Week began with a simple premise: bringing high fashion runway shows to a community screaming for a showcase. To that end, over the last three years, Omaha Fashion Week has grown exponentially. What began in 2008 with 12 designers and 60 models now has 35 designers and more than 200 models. Omaha’s creative communities continue to grow and expand, and so too does Omaha’s own Fashion Week. As you take part in this week’s shows and events, realize that you are a piece of our garment; you are one of thousands of stitches that, every year, work to bring together the pieces that make our city great! She worked 5 years as a graphic designer and 4 years as a photographer. She has recently shown her work in a variety of fashion shows including Fashion For Food and the Iasan & Sebastian Studio Salon Fashion Show. THE PASSIONATE LION BY TAMARA KURTENBACH Tamara Kurtenbach is a Mid-western bred American fashion designer. Soon after teaching herself basic construction skills, Tamara began studying under well know an art instructor Oscar Pulliam, who classically trained Tamara for 5 years and gave her a solid foundation as an artist. Tamara studied at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, where she studied fashion design. ELIANA SMITH A new face to the Omaha fashion design community, Eliana Smith from SLC, UT. As a young girl she was drawn to the world of timeless fashion.
