Ray of Hope Walk What is the ROHW? The Ray of Hope Walk to End Violence Against Women (ROHW), formerly known as the Ray of Hope Initiative-ROHI, was established to help bring forth educational awareness of this movement by collecting monetary donations for local and national agencies working towards ending gender-based violence. The annual walk focuses on challenging women and men alike to be a part of the movement to end this global epidemic– in an effort to create a safe and equitable society for all. In 2009, Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (OPBSI) celebrated its 20th Anniversary. During this time, OPBSI made the decision to take the next step and create a national initiative that would catapult its philanthropic efforts to a higher level of service and stewardship and place Omega Phi Beta as a leading organization in the fight to end violence against women.

Scholarship and Mentorship REACH FOR THE GOLD SCHOLARSHIP There are two Reach for the Gold Book Scholarships. The first is the Academic Book Scholarship, which is awarded to a candidate demonstrating academic excellence. The second is the Benevolence Book Scholarship, which is awarded to a candidate demonstrating commitment and service to their community. It is administered by our Alumnae Association in New York City and available to students across the nation THE GOLDEN COLIBRI GRANT The Golden Colibri Grant has been established to recognize and support professional and academic development among alumnae members of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. The Alumnae Association awards $500 annually to one grant recipient towards the pursuit of an advanced degree, professional certification, specialization, or license. In order to foster mentorship and networking among alumnae members, the award recipient is expected to present her experiences and reflections to the Sorority at large in the format of her choice, within a year following receipt of the Golden Colibri Grant. National Step/Stroll Team The National Step/Stroll Team (NST) of OPBSI created the SOUL Program to bring together girls aged 8-17 to learn about responsibility, creativity, friendship, and dedication through the fundamentals of stepping. One of the most important goals is to assist in teaching these young women the skills needed to succeed in all aspects of their lives. In addition to the SOUL Program, the NST hosts step workshops, performs for high school and middle school students and speaks to younger generations on the importance of getting an education.
