Jigme and Sherab are friends and go the Yushu primary school where ASIA has distributed toasted barley flour and yak butter. Because of this the children can stay at the school for lunch instead of having to make long journeys home through the dangerous rubble of the city.

Khadro is a nomad from the Khampa ethnic group and has grown up in the open spaces of the Tibetan plateau. Several years ago she was moved to one of the houses in Jiegu built by the government to make the nomads settle permanently. The house has collapsed and now she has nothing.
