Editor’s Letter MY SPORT We all know that exercise is very important for health, but I can’t stand going to the gym. I look like a complete idiot when I go to the weights section, pick up that 1kg bar and start puffing after a few lifts. And that’s just half the story; then one of those huge muscular guys comes in and starts working out in the same room and lift 123kg weights (on each side) and looks like he’s actually having FUN! ‘Weight’ and ‘fun’ should never be in the same sentence. The one other machine I can’t stand is the treadmill. Not only do I feel like a hamster that eats all day and then runs to nowhere for a couple of hours but they put those TVs in front of you and we all know what channels they have them on. Staring at those fit people on MTV makes you want to run as fast as a super hero, thinking that you can burn off the entire week’s calories in one go. Have you ever tried racing a complete stranger on the treadmill next to you? Trust me, don’t try it, they may be fitter than they look. Boxing has been my sport for a while and I love skipping rope and punching that bag. Though I’m thinking of making a half-year resolution to try out a new sport. Who’s in? Let’s go for it! Always remember that no matter how bad you think you look you’ll always look better than I did when I lost to a 60 year old on a treadmill.

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to read my email.
I just read the new issue of the magazine; I think it’s great and thank you for publishing yet another one of my articles.
I’ve always been labeled the geeky girl. The one who gives her homework in before the deadline, stays in on a Friday night; the one who’s never out at parties, never really having any fun. That girl at school, sitting by herself in a corner, reading. That girl with no self-confidence, the tall, skinny 14-year-old who’s camera-shy girl and cringes when someone pulls out a camera, asking to be in a photo. I’ve always wanted to be a model. Ever since I played dress-ups I knew it was for me. Though how can you dream for something so ambitious when everyone knows you as the lonely, dorky girl? By modeling in your magazine, I will be proving to the world that you don’t have to be popular to be model. You don’t have to be the model stereotype, a part of the ‘in-crowd’ or walk in mile high stilettos. You can do well in your studies and be academic, yet still have an interest in fashion. If I get the chance to model in your magazine, I will be showing that anyone can do anything if you put your mind to it and dream big. Thank you
Sajna Samad I love reading your articles and that is when i thought of submitting one of mine to one8one..:)

red bull x-fighters rock jbr On Friday April the 13th, I waited eagerly for the Redbull X-fighters 2012 World Tour on the JBR Beach in Dubai to begin, while cameramen and photographers around me were preparing their equipment and setting everything up. The show started with fishermen who took off the traditional dress to reveal themselves to the crowd after the evening’s host called out their name. Levi Sherwood, Rob Adelberg, Javier Villegas, Josh Sheehan, Andrè Villa, Todd Potter, Edgar Torronteras, Dany Torres, Mat Rebeaud, and Eigo Sato were hoping to leave Dubai with big numbers on the result charts. They certainly did fascinate the 20,000 fans who were watching them that night as well as the judges who were evaluating them according to their style, energy and course. In the first round, each rider had 10 seconds only to warm up without doing any flips or rotations. The audience was amazed by each rider’s performance. Each time I saw the riders jump in mid-air on their motors, I wondered if they felt like their stomach and heart switched places! The crowd displayed their love by screaming and cheering! The riders were flying off the hills like popcorn popping in a pan! In the second round, both rotations and flips were allowed, and each rider had only 2 minutes each to impress everyone with six of their best tricks. During the 10 minute breaks, music was bursting out of the speakers and everyone was having a great time dancing and moving to the beat. One show featured dancers dressed in costumes that lit in the dark and the other was a drum and fire show. Finally, Sherwood won against Australian Adelberg and said, “I was pretty surprised, and Rob rode pretty well. It means a lot. I haven’t really ridden many contests lately and didn’t have much confidence coming into it; it’s a cool little boost.” by

Al Ghurair student achieves big Ms. Salma Munir Ahmed Hayel, a student from Yemen, stole the thunder at the Graduation Ceremony at Al Ghurair University (AGU). She was the only student to receive her BBA degree with a perfect Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0. Her success will be a source of inspiration for the student population in general and especially female students in the UAE, the GCC countries, and beyond. Even though young students of her age believe in enjoying life king size and having fun, Ms. Salma, instead, focused all her energies on planning her career meticulously, converting her goals into realities, thereby bringing laurels to the AGU and to her own country. Contrary to the reckless approach of many a student towards career planning, Ms. Salma decided her path well in advance, in a systematic, scientific, and objective fashion, taking into consideration her aptitude, personality profile, and the family background, that education in the business stream will be the most appropriate career choice for her. She dreamt and aimed big. She raised the bar and set two challenging goals to be achieved: one, to score an A grade in all 41 courses that are offered as part of the BBA program; two, to complete the program in the shortest possible time frame of three years.

WAR HORSE by Michael Morpurgo There is a movie, there is a musical, but did anyone realise that this was originally a novel? Written by Michael Morpurgo, renowned author of Private Peaceful, The Butterfly Lion, and Out of the Ashes, among others, War Horse is another ground breaker. Morpurgo sets this story during the same time frame as his earlier novel Private Peaceful - before and during the First World War, the first time that machine guns, tanks, and the heavier sides of artillery had been introduced. Albert, a young boy of fourteen is given a horse when his father wins a bidding war with his uncle simply because of pride, therefore hurting their family’s financial situation. Albert trains the horse, which he names Joey, for two years, until his father sells Joey to the British military. The rest of the story follows both Joey’s journey, and Albert’s quest to find his beloved horse. A story bound to make you tear up and laugh. An epic tale with a happy ending.
THE MAZE RUNNER by James Dashner Imagine waking up in a moving box and then having several boys pull you out, and the only thing you remember is your name - Thomas. The Maze Runner is set around a young boy, Thomas, who is thrown into a world called The Glade, not knowing anything other than his name, and is introduced to a group of boys. The explanation he is given is that every month a boy is brought to them in the box. However, the day after Thomas arrives, Teresa arrives in the box; a large change seeing as Teresa is a girl and arrives only a day later, rather than a month. She delivers a message that she is the last to arrive and falls into a coma but maintains a telepathic connection to Thomas. Trapped in The Glade with he only exits being four doors that protect them from the maze outside, and the dangers that lie behind them, the boys and the comatose girl embark on an adventure full of wit and excitement. A novel with a matrix like twist, this is a really good read, sure to keep you turning the pages until the end. Read it to find out what happens; you’re sure to be surprised.

THE BOOK THIEF by Markus Zusak Understanding the power of books has been lost to many a mind, but it is not lost to the young fosterling Liesel Meminger, who discovers how important they really are. Liesel is the main character of Zusak’s fiction novel about a young girl during the events of World War Two in Germany who steals books. With the help of her foster father and neighbours, she is taught to read and write and learns the value of reading. Taking a more obscure narrative approach, the author makes ‘Death’ the narrator, who speaks of his encounters with Liesel, making the novel that much more interesting. The novel evolves around the girl and those who interact with her, and her efforts to avoid being caught whilst stealing the books. A captivating story, it enlightens and educates.

When It Rhymes FRIENDS by
Niamh Griffiths
From time to time we have our ups, From time to time we have our downs But no one will ever separate us, And turn our smiles into frowns. Friends you cannot live with out, They are always there for you, To cry on or to tell your secrets to, They’ll always be there. So if you’re upset or need a friend, Just call them and they we come and mend by ANWAR MARWAN Your broken heart or your sore knee, How do I begin, the same way? But I know they are always there for me. I ended last time, yesterday? I know not about the world a lot, Though I know a fairy tale it’s not. And I know that every single day, Is the beginning, and end, some way. There is a difference between them not, So it doesn’t matter, at least, not a lot, How you begin is up to the mighty lord, Born in Rome, or a child in a barbaric horde, It never mattered, never mattered at all, Who your parents are, is never your call, May they be of the savage barbs a horde, May they be of a kingdom its feudal lords, The ones to make all the divine kingly calls, Who they are is them, they won’t change at all May you live your life the way you do, Given choice, life, blessings, aren’t you? May you use them as you see, of ways the best, Yours is also the choice to put them all to rest. They breathe, they talk, they are after all you, But not shaped as words, but as things you do. Stand, work and never ever think to rest, If you want your future to be the very best Many were men who were born to nothing, But worked hard and gave it everything, These are the ones you look up to, Ones that have never thought of giving up. Now, they live happy, never suffering anything, For they suffered in their quest almost everything, They knew, their future was never previously set up, They knew, what they wanted had them stand up. Every minute has sixty of the most precious Seconds you give up, the worthy treasures, If you stood like they did, made use and took, Every second you had, back you will never look. by Shannon Lienert

Prototype 2 After Radical’s averagely received first outing, the developers have spit and polished this sequel based on fan feedback. Prototype 2 focuses on James Heller, who is hell bent to destroy Prototype’s original anti-hero, Alex Mercer. After smashing a few helicopters with his bare hands, of course.
Sniper Elite V2 The first game was so bad, it was good. And it sold well, which prompted developers, Rebellion, to make a sequel with a ‘V2’ in it. Sniper Elite V2 promises to continue giving players the most authentic sniping experience in a World War II scenario, with the celebrated bullet cam effect making a return in a more gratifying form than ever before.
The Walking Dead You watched it on TV, and like with popular franchises such as this, you can now play it on your video gaming platform of choice. Max Payne 3 The bullet-time induced action-shooter is back for a third round, this time handled by Rockstar Games themselves. Now a private security guard, his task of protecting the family he is assigned to quickly fails, and he must make all-out war in order to save his clients. Dahab LOCAL BAND

I had a pleasant and interesting conversation with Dahab’s guitarist, vocalist and composer, Sharif Al Maghreby, who walked me through Dahab’s journey all the way from Sinai to the Royal Mirage Rooftop in Dubai. He spoke about their three album record deals, what their jamming sessions are like, who and what they draw inspiration from, and their plans to tour internationally. by
GHADEER ABEIDOH Dahab was formed in 2004 to perform as an acoustic cover band at the Jazz Festival. Sharif Al Maghraby had known Majed Fassi (vocals, guitar and composition) for 10 years before that, and they came together with Adham Sharkawy (percussions) to practice for the gig, and this union resulted in the band learning 50 covers in just 3 days! They had amazing chemistry and an interesting new sound that fused influences from the east and the west, so they decided to work on original songs and dedicate more time to the band to expand it. Soon after, Ashraf Helmi (drums) and José Gabriel Matute Vega (bass) joined the band. While Sharif, Majid and Adham are all self taught instrumentalists who have been playing for almost 20 years, they combined the freedom of improvisation with the motivation to learn and experiment with Ashraf and Gabriel’s strong music foundation; Ashraf being a classically trained pianist as well as a prominent drummer while Gabriel being a music teacher and producer with 13 years experience. With such a diverse line up, one can tell Dahab (Arabic for gold) is staying true to its name! The name itself refers to the area where Sharif and Majed first met and where most of their music was composed. Dahab is a small Bedouin village in the Sinai where musicians and artists escape to find inspiration and serenity. The area takes its name after the golden colour of the sky just after sunset. Their music is known to have a spiritual feel to it, much like the area they draw inspiration from. Dahab aims to use music as a way to bridge cultures and create understanding - something you can feel in their lyrics, which are written in English but have a highly poetic resonance to them influenced by the Arabic language and culture. When asked about what their jamming sessions like, Mr. Maghraby had a lot to say: “There’s a hierarchy in music; sometimes the theme comes first and it dictates the style of music, and sometimes we’d just be sitting on a beach in Sinai and the music would just form. Music itself is conversation, when we jam we come up with ideas that can go places so we try to polish them at times or we simply respond to them at other times. In the end, we’re doing what we love to do.” The end result was two successful albums and an overwhelming fan base in Dubai, China, India and Mexico. “Spirit of Sinai” released in 2009, recorded, mixed and mastered at Sound Design Studios in Cairo, and “Qabeela’h” was released in Virgin Megastores and was met with great success in the UAE. You can find both albums on iTunes, Amazon and CDBaby. You can also check out Dahab’s website to listen to their music and attend their next performance on www.dahabband.com Dahab are now planning to record their 3rd album, “Raya’h”, giving us something to look forward to. All that can be said is, if you still don’t know Dahab, you’re missing out on the best acoustic ethnic fusion band in the UAE.

Don’t let the name fool you! This legal drama will keep you on your toes. Alicia Florrick, a second-year associate at a law firm has many battles to fight, but the one she cannot seem to resolve is her own life and marriage. She is faced with a question of whether she should follow her heart or her head. Every episode of this TV show has a story that’s not only perfectly scripted, but also not over the top. The second season is a testament of a show that gets better with time.
George Valentin, a silent movie star is stricken with the reality of talking pictures and the irrelevance of silent movies. Out of work, he loses everything but the attention of a shining new Hollywood star - Peppy Miller. This Oscar winning picture will take you back to the era of silent cinematography, exaggerated acting and brilliant performances. This is not only a picture to watch, but to keep for many years. Absolutely outstanding.
Five kingdoms, one throne. This is not a show about magic and wizards. This is a show about human greed and longing for power. It is set in medieval times and fictional lands, where the undead roam the forests and the winter lasts decades. These are the lands of the war plotting traitors, resurrected dragons and brave heroes who will fight till their last breath for the good and glorious. A collector’s item.

Album Reviews SKRILLEX ‘Bangarang’ This L.A.-raised 24-year old producer/DJ seems to be on everyone’s lips right now. Without a full-length album, ‘Bangarang’ is Skrillex’s fourth EP packed with his signature bass. The tracks are nothing new and have been familiar for most fans for several months now. However, for those who’ve just jumped on-board with Skrillex, this is a definite listen. ‘Bangarang’ goes to the tomorrow lands of DubStep and house, which will leave you head-banging for a little shy of 40 minutes. Many would call his music cartoonish, unintelligent and flux, we would disagree. This 24-year old has been running along the tracks of the massives like Deadmau5 and Avicii. Recommended tracks are ‘Bangarang’, ‘Right In’, ‘Kyoto’.
various artists ‘Cream club anthems’12’ There are many club compilations - Ministry of Sound’s ‘The Annual’, Clubland’s ‘Ultimate’, just to name a few – however, none of them have that special, artistic touch to it. If you are a house music lover, you’d know that it is generally hard to get that amazing track you heard in a live set from a DJ and it usually takes you hours to track it down if you are new to this. Cream usually gets the closest to it. Moreover, the tracks are not radio-length versions and are generally in their full length. So those of you who love house and want to just get a CD that kind of sums the current and hard-to-find stuff together, ‘Cream Club Anthems’ is the perfect way to go about it.

Photos: Anton Rodionov At first, I thought I was not going to go. “He was here at Creamfields, why should I go?” I asked myself. That didn’t last long and I found myself queuing up at Flash Forum on Yas Island to see the mixing genius yet again. LL (I like to call him that) started off with some heavy electro house, with the crowd going absolutely mad to every beat. Speaking of the crowd, I haven’t seen this much energy a very long time, especially when he got to ‘Till Sunshine’. The DJ happened to be a showman himself, raising hands in the air and catching glow sticks his new fans kept throwing at him. They were entertained. Now, what I loved the most is how he kept on jumping back and forth in time, playing smash house hits like ‘Put ’Em High‘ by Stonebridge Feat. Therese and David Guetta’s ‘Love Is Gone’ from 2004 and 2007 - the time when house music was still unknown to the US mainstream and had that unique factor it so lacks today. And then there was a shock of R’n’B/ HipHop massives like ‘Lean Back’ by Fat Joe and 50Cent’s ‘Candyshop’! Very different indeed!

All in all, the night was great, the LED set up looked brilliant, which has by now set a standard for the smaller-than-arena venues. Great DJ, fantastic setup and organisation.

This event aimed to celebrate the gift of music and bring some of the biggest international artists to the UAE. Indeed, it met everyone’s expectations, making it a concert that no one would forget for a long time. First on stage was 29 year-old pop/R&B singer Jay Sean with his personal DJ, and talented beat boxing skills, belting out classic hits like ‘Do you Remember’ and ‘Eyes on You’, and finishing off with the Hindi version of ‘Ride It’, which definitely got the crowd moving. Next on was the soulful, Skylar Gray, whose songs “Coming Home (Part III)” and “Words” illuminated just how incredible a songwriter and performer she really is. After a short interval and everyone getting refreshments to get ready for the rest of the night’s entertainment, Natasha Bedingfield came on in a stunning gold dress that accentuated her figure. As the night went on, the International Stadium was buzzing. Natasha was followed by the RnB sensation Taio Cruz, blasting out hits like ‘Higher’ and ‘Dynamite’ which got the crowd jumping to the beat. It was a hard act to follow until the beautiful Leona Lewis came on stage. She was magical; the audience was instantly mesmerized, especially when she hit the high notes in ‘Collide’ and ‘Bleeding Love’. This was an amazing event; Atlier Live Festival brought together the best of the best international artists of our time. If you missed out this time, don’t worry, Atlier Live Festival Dance Arena will be hosted in the UAE every four months, so don’t miss out on the next one.

Her Look by LOUISA NORTHCOTE
STRIPEs Stripes seem to be all the rage at the moment - spotted in all the shops, and a great pattern because they aren’t too overpowering. Since it’s spring/summer, opt for bright or pastel colours, which will make your outfit bright and fun.
CLUTCHING Clutches are great because they are small and not too heavy on an outfit. However, they should stand out! A ring clutch is great because you won’t have to accessorize with jewellery; instead, the clutch will do that for you! Furthermore, it gives your outfit that McQueen touch.
FLOWY AND FLOWERY Summer is finally here and it’s heating up, so it’s time to say goodbye pack away the woollies and bring out the sheer! Sheer fabric is so great because it’s flowy and light and thin, and you won’t feel hot in the summer. Floral prints also look great with sheer and they really shout summer!
SCULLAGE We all know that legendary designer Alexander McQueen is all about skulls, and recently, skulls have been making an appearance everywhere! Some people might think are a bit on the gothic side, however, you can make them high fashion. Try them on bracelets, rings, scarfs, whatever takes your fancy and go for some coloured skulls so you fit in with the season!

His Look BOW TIE BOYS A bow tie needn’t just be worn with a suit, instead, bow ties have now become a part of casual wear. They can be the statement piece of an outfit by wearing one that is a bright colour or has a great pattern on it. Wear it with a shirt and jeans or even a leather jacket!
metallic Metallic madness seems to be the way forward if you want to be seen as a fashion forward man. It might be a bit wacky and over the top, but a metallic accessory with an outfit definitely creates a statement piece, so don’t be afraid to try something new, like these gold metallic boots!
MIX AND MATCH Boys, don’t be afraid to mix and match the patterns you wear. Try and be more daring with your outfit and start sporting some colour. Clashing patterns are a great look at the moment, but only if they are worn right, so don’t go too crazy. Try and put the same coloured patterns together and you will create a great outfit.
Tom Roberts “A lot of people say gymnastics is a talented sport. I don’t believe it is. I don’t believe I was very talented. I believe I worked hard.”
He’s competed at the ESPN World Champion Series for gymnastics, is the manager, director and coach at the finest diving facility in the world, lives on the 65thfloor and drives a fast car, all at the age of 20! We catch up with Tom Roberts, the only board diving coach in the UAE and talk about his achievements, his plans for the UAE at the 2024 Olympic Games, feeling like a 50-year old and… banana sandwiches!
You’ve been a gymnast for about 17 years now, how did it all start? I started doing a bit of gymnastics when I was three years old, so I was pretty young. I guess it officially started at an event in school and I was asked by my teacher to jump over something and I didn’t quite understand. So I just went crazy and did a jump over the box by accident and the teacher was like “Whoa! What’s going on?” and from there he introduced me to gymnastics in a professional club and things just spiralled from there. I was about 11, I think when all this happened. How did things take off from gymnastics to diving? Well, I was getting to a point in gymnastics where I was training so much that I had a lot of injuries and I felt I wasn’t going to get any better than I already was. And I went on holiday one day and I saw a diving board and thought, “Let’s see how many somersaults I can do before I hit the water.” I did about 4 and I thought maybe I could be good at diving. So I went home and as I was talking to one of my student’s mum and I mentioned it, she said to me, “You do realize who my husband is?” and I said, “No” and she goes, “He’s Bob Morgan.” And Bob Morgan is a four time Olympian - two-time World, and two-time Common World Champion in diving. He was the Tom Daley 20 years ago and as soon as she said Bob Morgan, I obviously knew his name. So I met him and he introduced me to a man called Ben who’s in charge of diving in Wales and I started training with him. Soon Ben realized that I could teach as well as train and so I started teaching too. He taught me everything I know about diving now. And how did your move to Dubai happen? Well, my sister lives here so I’m a bit fortunate. I had come on holiday with no intention of moving here and then realized the many opportunities that were out here. I did have a bit of a reality check as well because I knew that I was coming to the end of my gymnastics career. I knew I was no longer able to keep up with the boys competing so I thought I could do with a bit of sunshine and tax-free (laughs). So I asked my sister if I could live with her for a bit till I found something and within 24 hours I went out, looked for a job, got a job with Du Gymnastics and then looked at the potential of opening up a diving club out here. And it just spiralled from there. Now I’m doing stunts with a company for Sandance, I’ve just done the Amwar drinking water TV advert and now this interview with one8one – all in the span of two months!
34
That’s incredible! But you mentioned you had to quit gymnastics because of your injuries. Was that hard for you? It was hard, yes. I was going to quit when I was about 17 since I had a full knee construction surgery. And after that, everyone was sort of like, “Yeah, he’s not going to ever come back to gymnastics.” And people telling me I’m not going to be able to do it again inspired me to get up and do it. Although my rehab took a long time, I did get up and do another three years. But then I realized I really cannot anymore and that I’m ruining my body. I feel like a 50 year old man at the moment. So you like to play by your own rules? Yeah, I think you’ve got to, to be honest with you. You’re as good as you are and as good as you want to be. That’s a great way to look at it. You’re currently working in Dubai to train gymnasts for the 2024 Olympics. Is that right? Yeah, but it’s not as big as that yet. The diving club has only been open for a month now. If all goes well, in 2024 Dubai will have the Olympics, and that gives me 12 years. I mean, you’ve got to have a long-term plan, and my long-term dream would be to get one of my divers to the Olympic Games or on a world circuit by then. I mean 12 years is a long time away. A lot can happen in 12 years; this may not be happening in 12 years’ time, the Olympics might not come. But the long-term goal is diving. We’ve got the world’s best facility, we’ve got the potential to do it, with a bit of knowledge, a few more coaches, I think there’s no reason why Dubai cannot make it to the Olympic Games; same with gymnastics as well. Dubai has loads of potential! So I’m very excited. What age would you recommend other gymnasts to start at? It actually depends on each one. A lot of people say gymnastics is a talented sport. I don’t believe it is. I don’t believe I was very talented. I believe I worked hard. And I believe if you work hard no matter what age you are, you’re going to achieve. If you see my adult classes for diving for example, 18-40 years of age, they are actually progressing much better than my younger ones. I think it’s because they’re older so they understand things a lot better so they can push themselves a little more. Is being so young a challenge for you when you teach, especially teaching older students? Yes, it is. It is very difficult. You’ve got to know how to deal with people. It’s a lot of hard work but I enjoy sharing my knowledge, and working with other people. But it is difficult to communicate with people that are older than me. It’s a very different environment here compared to teaching in schools. Over here students come to me because they want to and not because they have to. And that makes a huge difference. But in Dubai, the biggest challenge would be the language barrier. There are people from everywhere here and I like that, because it’s a challenge! I have people who don’t know a word of English and they still come for diving lessons. So the way I teach them? I get into the pool and do it with them! There’s loads of different ways of coaching and you just need to adapt based on whom you’re teaching.
“You’ve got to play by your own rules. You’re as good as you are and as good as you want to be.”

You’ve recently competed in Orlando, Florida for the ESPN World Championship series. What was that like? It was different. I enjoyed it. But I think I enjoyed it more because I knew it was my last competition, I wasn’t there to win it, I was there because I wanted to do it and I just wanted to enjoy the last time of being in a competition. So I had a great holiday with all the boys of the Welsh National Squad and we had a great time for 10 days. Was there any pressure, it being your last competition? Yeah, there’s always pressure because you don’t want to finish on a bad note. I wanted to go out on a good one and be proud of myself that on the last competition, I landed on my feet! I did quite well, I got 7th on high bar, which I was happy with. And what about the banana sandwiches? (laughs out loud) Ohhh! Banana sandwiches are amazing! A good friend Clinton, who was our World Series gymnast, introduced me to them and this was his mum’s special. We were at a competition one day, a long time ago, and I was very nervous. He handed me one and told me to try it and it was fantastic! All of a sudden my mental attitude changed and I had some energy! And since then it’s been a little ritual of mine. Clinton would bring me my banana sandwiches and in return during training sessions, my mum would always make him sandwiches! People have teddy bears and do some things before competitions, but banana sandwiches seem to have worked for me, doesn’t matter where you are in the world! What’s in the pipeline for this year? Well, I may be going back to the UK to do a world record – we’re going to dive a marathon! So you’ve got to get up a pool, run up the stairs to the top of the 10m and dive off it. There’s a team of 10 of us doing it and we will attempt to do 4,600 dives in 26 hours across 10 different facilities in the UK. So that’s 46 dives an hour per person! We’re going to try and do it for charity as well. What’s a regular day like in Tom Roberts’ life? Right now, it’s a lot of paper work! I wake up at 9 am and then I’m mostly doing paperwork and accounts since it’s a new club. Then I try to do some promotion as well and also work with a company called DuDive and teach for 4-5 hours a day. Then I come home and eat and train for 2-3 hours a day but sometimes it’s really hard since I don’t get to hit the gym till about midnight! I usually go to bed around 1:30 - 2:00 am. Do you think working so much will burn you out soon? I don’t know. I hope this excitement never ends! I’m living in my dream world right now. I mean, I’m living in one of the best countries in the world, I am the manager and director of the world’s best diving facility, I’m driving a really fast car, I live on the 65th floor – life doesn’t get better. And the most important thing is I enjoy my work! How do you keep grounded ? (Pauses for a few seconds pondering) I don’t know… I just… I really don’t know.

The Winter Angel
It was nearly twilight and the typical winter chill of Aspen, Colorado sent a shiver down Benjamin’s spine as the snowflakes slowly feel to the snow-covered ground. The only light cast on the dark, urban streets was that of the winter moon and streetlights, which seemed to be carefully guiding Benjamin to a warm, significant place for the night. Without any knowledge of the area, he allowed the lighting to lead him on. Snow-capped houses glittered in the moonlight, as Benjamin’s last sense of hope to find somewhere warm slowly began to drift away from his poor uncovered head. Without any defined home, he never really seemed to stay in one spot, whether it be a random building no longer in use, or a darkened alleyway with the slightest presence of fire, which appeared to be the closest thing to a friend he could have. People had always shunned and looked down on him; those who came close always stared repulsively in a queer manner. It was not his fault that he was penny-less, homeless, ravenous, or parentless. “Hello,” a voice startled Benjamin, “no need to be jumpy. I won’t hurt you.” He was not used to being called out, and was frosty about the innocent sounding voice. Benjamin turned to see no one face to face with him. Slowly he began to turn back around and then continued up the street. “Down here, mister! I promise nothing bad will happen.” Benjamin turned around again, but this time slightly lowered his head. Surprised, he raised an eyebrow at the sight of a little girl without a coat before him. Out of sheer disbelief, Benjamin wiped his eyes and opened them to still see the little girl standing before him. “My name is Sarah,” the little girl informed him. She looked hardly six or seven, with well-combed blond hair, a sweet pristine smile and angelic blue eyes. She held out her small hand, expecting Benjamin to shake it. Again, not used to this type of friendly confrontation, Benjamin turned away from the child, and without any response continued, once again, up the street. “Wait up, mister!” Sarah chased after him. This time Benjamin didn’t turn around to face the girl or even stop moving. He just continued his journey up the street, as Sarah followed. “Where are you going?” Sarah asked him. Benjamin did not answer nor did he even gesture. “Are you going home?” Sarah asked another question. This time Benjamin made a full stop and turned to face the child. He studied her patterned orange dress and shiny new shoes. “Do you have a home?” she asked, as she began to figure him to be homeless. With this question, Benjamin lowered his head, as a tear broke free from his normally dry brown eyes. In assurance by his appearance, Sarah began speaking again, “There’s a nice family around the corner up ahead. They live in a small blue house and love letting people sleep over when they have no mommy or daddy to go home to. I’m sure they could help you.” The little girl calmly waved goodbye as she skipped down the street away from Benjamin toward the night sky’s full moon. He stood there and watched as the darkness soon engulfed her fully as if she had disappeared. Benjamin wiped his eyes as a question began to float through his head. What was such a young girl doing outside at midnight? He ignored his thoughts and continued up the street. Unlike earlier, Benjamin decided to make an unscheduled stop at the house that little Sarah had mentioned. As he approached the corner, the small, blue house Sarah had mentioned was easily noticeable. Without hesitation, Benjamin headed toward the house, realising that this may be his only chance to be somewhere warm on this brutal frosty winter night.
“Hello. How can I help you dear?” a short, plump lady, about 40 years old, answered the door. Her hair was long and dark. She wore a nightgown designed with colourful flowers that comforted Benjamin. Uncomfortable to speak, Benjamin stared at the lady hoping she wouldn’t ask any more questions. Within a few seconds of studying Benjamin’s torn clothing and unshaven face, the pleasant woman invited him inside the house. “Please, sit down. I’ll make you some hot chocolate,” the kind woman offered. A man dressed in dirty blue jeans and a red oil stained t-shirt with a large white beard sat across from Benjamin in a reclining chair, reading the daily newspaper. He quickly noticed Benjamin and began to fold his newspaper and put it on the table next to him. He then folded his glasses and hooked the end of them on his shirt. “What’s your name, sport?” the man asked Benjamin. He didn’t respond. Instead, Benjamin stared at the man, again, hoping he would not be asked for his name anymore. “I’ll make you a deal,” the man began as he pulled a pen and a piece of paper from his pocket, “if you can write down your name on this piece of paper, I’ll tell you my name.”
Benjamin slowly reached for the pen and began to spell out his name in an impressive script, reflecting the few years of education he had before his parents passed. “Benjamin, eh? My name’s Harold, but you can call me Harry ‘cause that’s what everyone knows me by. Besides that, I must say, your handwriting is rather impressive,” the man began complimenting him as the woman that answered the door entered the room with a tray that had three cups and a pot of what looked and smelled like steaming hot chocolate. “Our friend Benjamin here doesn’t seem to be much of a talker, dear,” Harry informed the old lady who seemed to be his wife. “Oh, his name’s Benjamin? Hello, Benjamin. You can call me Beth,” the woman generously smiled. She poured hot chocolate into a cup and handed it to Benjamin. After taking his first sip, Benjamin’s eyes seemed to be stuck on a picture on the table next to Harry’s recliner. Beth and Harry turned to see what Benjamin was looking at. After realising, Beth picked up the picture with a smile, as her eyes seemed to become glassy. “This is our daughter. She was only seven years old when we lost her to pneumonia. She caught it a few years ago when she snuck outside to play in the snow and didn’t wear a coat. We were all sleeping and it was dark when we went to bed around midnight. Ever since she passed, Harry and I pledged to give people all we can to keep them warm during harsh winters like this,” Beth informed Benjamin. Benjamin’s eyes widened as he recognised the orange patterned dress the little girl wore in the picture. “Sarah,” Benjamin spoke for the first time on this cold night. “Why, yes. How’d you know, Benjamin?” Beth asked with a shaky voice. Benjamin smiled and answered confidently, “Lucky guess, I suppose.” by

Gizmos & Gadgets by ANTON RODIONOV
Sony has been outdoing itself this year. First, the long-awaited PS Vita showed itself in all its glory, and now it’s the Sony Xperia S. I got my hands on the devices and here is what I found...
SONY PLAYSTATION VITA This thing is a beast! Sporting a 5” OLED, full touch capacitive screen, front and back VGA cameras, twin controller sticks, 3G capability and the new SD Vita Cards, the PS VIta is probably the best and most powerful, full-fledged mobile gaming system of today. Additionally, this beauty introduces Augmented Reality as well as location-based service called ‘Near’. ‘Near’ is an app that lets you see who’s playing what in your area, and let’s you drop or pick up extras in different locations - sort of like a treasure hunt. Now, Sony claims 3-5 hours of constant gaming on Vita, and that is exactly what we got. One small shortage, however, would be difficulties to use this thing in direct sunlight; it is almost impossible to see anything on a sunny day. But then again, who would play under direct sunlight in this country anyway? Overall, this is a giant leap for Sony. The competitors must be biting their elbows.
SONY XPERIA S This is the most beautifully designed Android phone in the market. Sony seriously looked over its drawing boards and went all industrial with this one. The Xperia S is all about the clean rigid look. However, unlike the iPhone 4 and 4S, the Xperia S has a curved back and is more comfortable to hold. When it comes to displays, the phone is not a slouch either; with a 720HD display and a Bravia engine, this phone will take your eyes places they’ve never been before. If this is not enough, Xperia ships with Microsoft Office Suite Pro and a BOX.net account with 53GB storage right out of the box. The handset supports full HDMI out and has the PS Store app. The battery life is just 9-10 hours, so don’t wander off too far from the socket. Another thing some might not like is that this beautifully-designed hardware runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread; it is, indeed, disappointing. However, Sony swears (they even put a sticker on the box) that the update to the Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 is coming very soon. I, on the other hand, haven’t noticed anything bad with the skin this phone is sporting now; in fact, it is very impressive, fluid and elegant. Another hardware design detail worth mentioning is the transparent piece that lights up depending on the app you are using. It seems as if the phone is cut at its lower part - neat trick indeed. All in all folks, if Android is how you roll, this handset is definitely worth checking out.

ME Comic Con by Doreen
Dubai always seems to be bustling with activities, but it outdid itself with the first Middle East Film & Comic Con. I was surprised to hear of an event about comics, anime, video games and science fiction, considering there aren’t really any exclusive comic, video games or manga stores in the region, save for a pretty impressive manga section at Kinokuniya in Dubai Mall. Considering all these factors, I was expecting only a handful of people to turn up at the event. However, little did I know that the Middle East is sprawling with geeky comic enthusiasts, video game aficionados, and manga nerds both old and young alike. People were spilling into the venue, dressed up as iconic comic heroes such as Batman, Superman, Chewbacca, Darth Vader Wall-E, Mystique, anime characters and more. The event organisers deserve a ‘two thumbs up’ for hosting the event at the Dubai International Marine Club – Mina Seyahi, which offered spectacular views of JBR and the Palm Jumeirah, with lots of greenery, an open stage for activities like karaoke, quiz shows and a beach front offering some respite from the summer heat. The line-up of artist was overwhelming, with Gimli from ‘Lord of the Rings’(John Rhys Davies), Khal Drogo from ‘Game of Thrones’ (Jason Momoa), Andrea of ‘The Walking Dead’ (Laurie Holden), Louanne Katraine of ‘Battlestar Galactica’ (Luciana Carro), and Cosplay Queen (Alodia Gosiengfao) all at hand to keep the audience enthralled. MEFCC offered Gamezone and Power-league Gaming Championships for gamers, and the exclusive launch of “Prototype 2” by Activision; an Artist Alley for official memorabilia, merchandise and sketches; a MARVEL Comics stand; Meet the Artist sessions for screaming fan girls (and quite a few fan boys) wanting autographs and photos; VOX Cinema’s Movie Club for film buffs who got exclusive sneak previews of upcoming movies and the opportunity for Q&As with their favourite celebrity. The Cosplay Competition for fans in costume and a wide range of workshops from how to draw a Manga were a big hit, as was the scriptwriting class by a cheery Max Landis.
The highlights of my Comic Con experience were the Naruto tent, where fans got to have their name written in Japanese and wear a Kimono, the brilliant and mischievous John Rhys Davies (he was tickling people!) who left me awestruck with his inspiring Q&A, the lovely Laurie Holden, and my personal favourite - Jason Momoa.

Anton’s Cup 2012
45
The second annual Anton’s Cup Mixed Touch Tournament was really special, with over one hundred players came. No matter what calibre, they all joined together in memory of my brother Anton Tahmasian to be part of something he loved. The atmosphere was amazing with boys joking amongst themselves, and the hint of competitiveness throughout the games in the battle to win the cup was extraordinary. I loved it because it mimicked the way my brother used to play - he would never be satisfied to be second, but was proud to represent the team he played for, may it be a school or club. The tournament itself took a lot of preparation, and with the help of many willing parents and other students, a great day of rugby took place at the English College. With so many teams participating, my mum, dad and I couldn’t have asked for anything more fitting than a rugby tournament in memory of my individualistic, amazing brother. We look forward for the Anton’s Cup 2013 next year. Be prepared! by
Karmen Tahmasian
Adam Al-Samarae The atmosphere at Anton’s Cup is remarkable. It’s amazing how much enthusiasm and talent is brought to the table. But no matter what, Anton is always the focus of the tournament; him and others lost during our time in Dubai are honoured through the spirit of rugby. Always an amazing day.
Hana hassanbek With Anton’s Cup being a huge success last year, expectations were high and they were definitely fulfilled. It was an amazing day of rugby. Allowing everyone who was interested to make a team and participate made it especially unique. This tournament was emotional for many as we knew Anton was with us on that day more than ever. The Bubble Society by
Shahmir Khan
There are about seven billion of us on planet Earth. Each individual has their own life, their own personality, their own story. I present to you a thought, nothing more. I can’t exactly stand up and say that what I think is true, but what I can do is simply tell you what I think. In order to do so, let’s zoom into the individual, the minority of one – one in seven billion. To be more precise, let’s zoom into you. A lot of us live our lives held tightly in our routines. You wake up, you go to school, you come back home, you go to bed (scaled down to the basics of course). When it’s put that way, you can’t deny that it just sounds boring; so why is it that even though we understand what a routine is, we are still perfectly content with confining ourselves within them? The answer is that a lot of us don’t like change; even though it is something inevitable, we still try to control it. By having our routines we create a cycle and by creating a cycle we confine ourselves within a metaphorical bubble, a bubble which surrounds each individual and the everyday lives they live. As a result, we begin to live our lives uncaring of the bigger picture – the fact that we are one in seven billion. We begin to stop acknowledging the fact that there is a world beyond the one, the bubble, we confine ourselves within. There are things beyond what we choose to surround ourselves with. We can be perfectly aware of what happens outside our lives, just like we can see straight through a bubble, and we can also very easily burst it; however, it’s just that we chose not to – it’s the mentality we develop. This bubble can be a metaphor for a million things about the way we live our lives, but as young people I think that it addresses one point that is very specific to us - the future. Not many of us have the will to make an impact on the world in the future, not enough of us have that ambition. With all the problems we are presented with today, whether they are political, environmental or social, we need people with the aspirations to change the world in order to make it a better place for the years to come. We need to embrace change. We need to burst the bubble.

“During a visit to the magnificent Khan El Khalili souk in Cairo, I came across a shop that sold handmade ornaments. The shop was full of lovely items in all shapes and sizes. Yet, what most caught my eye was the scene of the owner working on one of his masterpieces. The delicacy and accuracy with which he carved his designs was fascinating. His total immersion in what he was doing was captivating. Together with his shop, he encapsulated the magical and authentic atmosphere of the beautiful Khan El Khalili.” – Farah Hamdy

Letters to a Coach Get advice from our life coach Maria Chatila. Write to her at coach@one8one.net. All writing will remain anonymous.
Q.
I moved to Abu Dhabi a few months ago and feel home sick. It’s bad enough that my parents decided to move too far, but moving in the middle of the year is even worse. There are groups at school and since I’m the new kid I feel like I’m dragging myself along with those groups instead of being included. We haven’t moved much before so I’m not used to being the new kid. How long does it usually take to make real friends here?
Maria V. Chatila is presently living in Dubai with her husband and three children. She works as an Education & Relationship Life Coach. She is dedicated to helping schools, families, couples and individuals to build personal and family awareness, while creating empowering relationships. Maria has given talks and workshops to groups and also works privately with clients.
The new kid Moving away from home and from our comfort zone is hard no matter how old you are. It is never easy being the ‘new kid at school’ but it is even harder when you feel alone and helpless. You haven’t made it clear to me whether you were in high school or in university. I will assume that you are in high school and that your parents have moved you here from abroad. I apologise if this isn’t the case. Firstly, I want you to take a deep breath and recognise that what you are feeling is normal. It is hard moving away from home and it is really hard being the new kid at school especially in the middle of the year. Can you recognise your feelings by reflecting on friends that you have known in the past? Identifying with others is important because you can then look to them as mentors in this challenging time. Next, it is important that you do not go through this alone. Are you sharing your feelings with your parents or siblings? Is there a teacher at school that you can sit down with and share your feelings? Sometimes we feel alone but we never really give anyone the opportunity to hold our hand through the challenge because we tend to pretend that we are ‘okay’. I encourage you to spend some quiet time alone and reflect on what you want to achieve at your new school. What kind of friends do you want to have? What kind of friendships do you want to have? These two questions are very different. Reflect deeply on these answers. Look at the after school clubs being offered at your school. Are there any that interest you? Joining these clubs will help you to connect with like-minded students. Although, it may seem lonely at first, spending some quiet time alone by becoming aware of what you want and what you need is very important if you want to enjoy your time at the new school. If you feel like you are being dragged along in certain groups than it may be possible to recognise that these are not the groups for you. Can you connect with one student at a time? Invite them to have lunch with you. Invite them over to do homework together. Before you know it, that new person may introduce you to another new person and these people may become the group that you feel ‘included’ in. I cannot stress this enough, so I will repeat myself. DO NOT go through this experience alone please. Share your feelings with a parent, a sibling or a teacher. Too many students feel alone and trapped in their world of challenge and the consequences become dark and depressing for them but they don’t have to be. I hope that this has helped to inspire you to help yourself feel more included at school.
Me or them? I can feel the weight of the world on your shoulders right now. I am so sorry to hear that your mother is unwell. I am so proud that you managed to overcome a huge financial hurdle and earned the money to go to university. Life always throws us two balls; one that we label ‘positive’ and the other that we label ‘negative’. Both, however, are thrown at us to help us grow. The decision that lies ahead of you is one that only you can make. I can help you to create a strategy for making the decision but I cannot sway you in either direction. It is important that you understand that; as individuals, we are the creators of our future. Do not become a victim to circumstances, on the contrary, take everything with a pinch of salt and trust that you know what is best for you. My suggestion is that you spend time reflecting on the following questions. Create a working journal and write down your answers. 1. What was your initial reaction when you learned that your parents could not afford to send you to university? 2. What did you decide to do when you learned that your parents could not afford to send you to university? 3. What were your experiences during the process of earning enough money for university? 4. What did you learn about yourself while you were earning money for university? 5. What challenges did you endure during the working journey to earn money for university? 6. What did you learn about your parents during this process? 7. What did your parents learn about you during this process? 8. What does your mother want you to do? What are her dreams for you? 9. If your mother was in perfect health, what would you do? 10. If you were to give your brother the money to study, what would you feel in the long term? Would there be any resentment? Any sadness that you gave up the opportunity? Would you feel like you ‘owned’ his experience? 11. What does your brother want you to do? 12. If your mother was in perfect health, would you want to give the money to your brother so that he could go to university? 13. In 10 months from today, what would you feel like if you did/didn’t go to university? 14. In 10 years from now, what would you feel like if you did/didn’t go to university? These are only a few questions that you can spend time reflecting on. I want to ask you to park any guilt that you may be feeling right now towards your mother’s health. There is a lot at stake here. What is your role at home? Do you ‘believe’ that as the daughter, you must stay to care for your mother? Is there any truth in this belief? What evidence do you have to support this belief? What will the long-term consequence be for you and for your life if you followed on with this belief. Finally, there are always university options that can keep you closer to home as well. Have you looked into these options? The world has a million windows. Look carefully and try to find the window of opportunity for you. I wish your mom a full recovery and I wish you the best on your learning journey, but mostly I wish you great peace in the big decision that lays ahead for you.
Q. Dear Coach, I have been working for
over a year to make enough money to go to university because my parents cannot afford to put me through it. Now, after all this hard work, I can finally go but feel very guilty for the fact that I will leave my parents and siblings behind. My mother has gotten sick and I feel like I need to help with the medical bills. Also my brother is almost ready to go to university and I feel that I can give him the money to go study what he wants to study. Should I go or stay?

Nut Benefit Next time you find yourself craving a midafternoon snack, leave the potato chips on the shelf and grab a handful of nuts instead. Though many so-called nuts are not, strictly speaking, “true nuts,” virtually all of them have significant health benefits - and they’re tasty too. Here are five nuts that both your taste buds and your body will enjoy.
walnuts
Peanuts
Where heart health is concerned, though, even peanuts cannot beat out the walnut, which is chock full of antioxidants and antiinflammatories - both vital for your heart. It is not surprising, then, that various studies have shown that walnuts lower cholesterol levels and improve overall cardiovascular function. What’s more, these same antioxidants and anti-inflammatory nutrients may play a preventative role in the development of several types of cancer particularly breast and prostate cancers. If you’re still not convinced, consider that walnuts may also help you maintain a healthy body weight and strong bones. For reasons that are not entirely understood, anti-inflammatory nutrients like tannins and flavonoids appear to both lower the risk of obesity and help people who are already obese to lose weight. Where bone health is concerned, anti-inflammatories appear to decrease blood levels of a particular kind of collagen that is associated with bone turnover and mineral loss. Although scientists have thus far only studied the effects of large amounts of walnuts on bone health, many researchers hypothesize that even small servings of walnuts could have a beneficial effect.
Peanut butter is great, but the nuts themselves are even better for you. This is in large part due to the fact that are high in monounsaturated fat, and if you didn’t pay attention in health class, all you really need to know is that that’s the good kind of fat. In fact, monounsaturated fats are thought to play a role in keeping your heart healthy, and studies comparing the rates of cardiovascular disease in peanut and non-peanut eaters have seemed to corroborate this. It is likely that other nutrients found in peanuts - niacin, folate, manganese, protein and vitamin E, for a start - also play a role in preventing heart disease. Moreover, some of these same nutrients may lower your risk of other chronic diseases; folic acid, resveratrol, phytosterols and phytic acid - all found in peanuts - are associated with lower rates of colon cancer. In one study, two servings of peanuts per week lowered the incidence of colon cancer by 58 percent in women and 27 percent in men. Niacin, meanwhile, seems to play a role in preventing Alzheimer’s disease; a study published in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry found that people whose diets were rich in niacin were 70 percent less likely to develop Alzheimer’s.
cashews
almonds pistachios
Although nuts are high in fat content, they tend to contain mostly unsaturated fats, which your body actually needs in order to function properly. If you’re still worried, though, try eating more cashews; they are lower in fat than most other nuts, and 75 percent of the fat they do contain is unsaturated. Like most other nuts, almonds have been linked to lower rates of heart disease and cancer. However, almonds also have their own unique set of health benefits. They are rich in folic acid. On another note, almonds are great at keeping your skin healthy and glowing. Almonds are one of the best sources of vitamin E, which helps protect and heal skin from UV damage.
Cashews are also particularly rich in protein, and while you may think you get enough of this from meat and chicken, nutritionists recommend that you vary your protein sources. On a similar note, vegetarians will likely find that cashews are a great and tasty way of ensuring that they get enough protein in their diets without resorting to eating meat. Lastly, cashews are a good source of iron, which plays an important role in transporting oxygen throughout your body. In fact, around half of all cases of anaemia are thought to be the result of an iron deficiency.
In addition to containing cholesterollowering antioxidants, pistachios are rich in vitamin B6, which helps red blood cells function properly; in fact, a single serving of pistachios provides 20 percent of the optimal daily intake of this particular vitamin. Given that vitamin B6 is also necessary for a healthy immune system, this is worth taking note of. Pistachios also contain lutein and zeaxanthin—two types of carotenoids that are not found in most other nuts. Chances are you have never heard of either of these nutrients, but they play a key role in eye health by reducing your risk of age-related macular degeneration, which can ultimately lead to blindness.

Take into consideration your studies or matters regarding your job and your health. The more effort you put into those fields the faster you will advance. Some matters at home which you were worried about should be finalized this month. Just use your common sense and all will work out and things will fit perfectly into place. Stop worrying. All is good.
You have been working on something for quite a while and once it’s finished, you will finally see all the benefits of working so hard. You will be satisfied. Take a look at who you are and find out what it is that you would like to improve because this is the time to do it. Change your old habits and replace them with something new that you absolutely love.
Communication is at the top of your list this month. Many people are trying to get a hold of you and tell you what they have been up to. Don’t repeat what they’ve told you unless you’ve double-checked that it’s true. You don’t want to be the one to start any crazy rumours, do you? You will feel like staying home more often than usual so might as well try and paint your room or do some renovations.
Money is good so you’re happy. You’ve made some great changes that you’re pleased with. There’s a lot going on between you and your friends. One friend may tell you something about yourself that you may not like. But you will accept it as an insight into how you are perceived and may, or may not want to change that quality they pointed out.

Your positive energy is all over the place this month so go ahead and take on those projects you’ve wanted to start. Your friends are sending you mixed signals but you’ll soon find out what it is they want. If you’ve loaned someone money they may pay it back this month. Luck is on your side so go ahead and dare yourself to create something new.
Watch what you eat as it may affect your health this month. You want to do a lot of things because you have the energy but you may be better off calming down a bit and taking it easy. If a friend comes to you with a project listen carefully it may be profitable. A new person will come into your life and someone may bless you with a gift you will keep forever.
Fun, fun and more fun! This is what you and your friends will be doing all month. If you’re planning on traveling check all your stuff before you leave. Some surprises are coming your way at work or during your studies. Something significant will happen in your life, which will change the path you’re on. You may be setting new goals that have nothing to do with the old ones.
You’re doing so well to a point that you’re getting recognized, encouraged and even rewarded. Naturally you react to all this with huge excitement. All that hard work is finally paying off. If there is an opportunity to travel take a friend with you if you can, you’ll have loads of fun and there may be very exciting surprises along the way.

Now is a great time to learn something new either through reading a good book on a topic you’ve been interested in for while or taking on a new experience that can teach you a new skill. Take the time to look into your soul and see what you find. Check your plans before you schedule things in, there’s so much to do, and you may overbook yourself.
You have been worried about money but good news is coming your way for sure. Just what you needed to hear isn’t it? Plan carefully once the money comes in because it has to last you for quite a while. Take good care of your family and friends; let them know you appreciate them and make time to listen to them when they need to vent.
Commitments are made. You always keep your word and finish everything till the end. A good friend will make you extremely happy this month. Remember to thank them dearly for all they do for you. A quick trip may be coming your way. If something spoils your plans don’t get upset. Everything always happens for a reason so be happy.
You’re having a blast at work, university or school. You may get a promotion or a good grade or both if you’re working and studying. You feel great so get out there and start that exercise plan and healthy diet you’ve always wanted to. If there is something you want to ask your friends or family for wait till the end of the month when the planets are aligned in your favour.
