Laboratory Health and Safety “Whilst I have not come from a science background, I found the course helpful for me to understand the way lab health and safety is implemented which will give me much greater ability in my job role.”

Introduction to Drug Discovery - From Idea to Clinical Candidate “I felt this was a valuable course and allowed me to get a good grasp of how the steps that a biotech company goes through to discover a new therapeutic drug look like. The training was well taught and organized. The presentation slides are very detailed and help you to comprehend the material easily.” Biological Safety: Management and Practice (IOSH Approved) “The course was very well organised and covered all objectives. It allowed me to learn more about Biological Safety practices and pointed out where to look for more information. Class exercises were adequate and reinforced what we learnt in class so we could put our knowledge to practice.” Introduction to Managing Life Science Projects “At the end of last year, I have been assigned as the biologist lead for one of my company’s projects. This is the first time I have this kind of role and the course gave me a good idea of the frame of a project as a whole. It has helped me see what should be expected to run a project properly. For example, I was not really aware of the importance (and even the existence) of the risk assessment part in the course of a project.”

That is unless its just before a pandemic hits! After a while, I was beginning to wonder where my future lay, or even whether I would ever work again. The community that is the Cambridge cluster paid dividends in the end. I am delighted, no, elated, to be joining Iontas as Chief Operating Officer. Joining this innovative company in a period of growth is hugely exciting and I am looking forward to playing a key part in the continued success of the company”, Jonathan Green Isogenica has promoted Dr William (Bill) Eldridge to Chief Scientific Officer read more Kenneth Galbraith has been appointed by Kalium Health as Chair of the Board read more

Employer of Choice Women’s Health and Wellbeing Within the Workplace The focus of this session was female health and wellbeing within the workplace and how employers can be more supportive and normalise talking about what can be deemed as ‘taboo’ topics. The panel covered menstrual equity, maternity and menopause with respect to creating a more open environment for women to feel confident in discussing their health, with both male and female employers. Joining the webinar we had Bloody Good Period. This year, they are planning to launch their ‘Bloody Good Employers’. You can go and check out their report based on research of employees and employers which underlines the need for change around periods and menstrual wellbeing within the workplace.
