Each station brings new techniques and yummy creations as everyone rotates through seven fun filled activities. But the birthday cake is the quiet star of this party, topped with an adorable wooden baker that you can make yourself. There are also easy decorations and pretty printables to give this party that extra bit of flair. After the party is over, send your happy guests home with an embellished hat and their own box of bakery fresh treats that show off their new baking skills. Bon appetite!
I’m sure you’ve guessed by now, but our favorite thing about parties is teaching you how to re-create every party that we do. Our parties have been photographed in great detail to show you our process so that you can have this same party yourself. We’ve done all of the hard work already so you can pull off a showstopper with minimal effort. Feel free to use our party ideas, but remember to play nice. This PDF is for personal use only.

Pink milk glass is the perfect cake stand for a baking party. This 12 stand was made by Mosser Glass.
printing invitations
This party is brimming with darling pink,
red and blue accents—this baker’s favorite combination—all brought together to create these adorable recipe card inspired invites. The invitations and thank you cards are printed on bright white matte photo or brochure paper from an office supply store. Be sure to use the highest quality settings on your printer. These envelopes are from The Paper Source in the color “pool.” To hint at what’s in store at the party, tie some baking twine around the invite before tucking it into the envelope to mimic the look of a goodie filled bakers box all tied up to take home. The vintage mixer stamp we used is from the Celebrate the Century 1930’s collection from the U. S. postal series, and was purchased on eBay. For a cool invite that can be hand delivered, print out the longer version of the invitation and wrap it around a mini rolling pin, tie it to a colorful spatula (this one is from the Martha Stewart line at Macy’s), or attach it to another baking item like a whisk or a metal scoop. Party guests can use these items for their own baking adventures.
doll cake topper
Is there a cuter cake topper for a baking party than a min-
iature baker, custom made to look like the birthday girl? You can make one for every party guest, like we did, or just one for the birthday girl to cherish. Making these adorable dolls requires a little bit of work and some advanced crafting and sewing skills, but it’s worth it in the end. We recommend making these dolls ahead of time, at least a week before the party, because they require so many supplies and steps. Supplies body: fine tipped and flat angled paintbrushes; q-tips; toothpick; hot glue gun & glue; hacksaw; fine sandpaper; wooden pieces: doll clothespin, 1” ball knob/doll head, 3/8” balls for hair buns, doll clothespin stand; paints: black, white, brown, blue, skin color, yellow, red, pink arms: hot glue gun & glue, wire, wire cutters, skin colored embroidery floss OR skin colored pipe cleaner clothes: scraps of fabric, matching ribbon, bits of lace cupcake & rolling pin: small bead, paintbrush, hot glue gun & glue; (wooden pieces) 3/8” plug, 1 5/8” mini rolling pin; (paints) brown, pink, red, aqua
Make several garlands to hang and swag all around the kitchen.
cupcake liner garland
This party requires lots of cupcake liners in a variety of
colors and sizes for the different activities. Use the extra liners to make a pretty garland. With white yarn and a needle, string regular sized cupcake liners, mini cupcake liners, coffee filters, and small doilies together. A random pattern is best, so have fun using all of the items in whatever order you’d like. Turn cupcake liners and coffee filters in both directions to keep them from nesting and to make the garland look fuller.
flower baking hats
As party guests start to arrive, put them
to work embellishing their very own chef’s hat. Have each girl put her name on a hat with sticker letters to avoid any confusion and to help everyone get to know each other. Show the girls how to create special flowers made out of coffee filters and cupcake liners to adorn their hats. Each one will end up being as unique as the party guest. Detailed instructions follow.
party tips
The Baking Party requires a bit of prep work and ongoing
help as the activities progress. This party is designed to utilize two different areas (either tables or counter space) where the baking activities can take place. While one area is being used, the other area is being cleaned and set up for the next activity. And vice versa. Make sure to have at least two adult helpers for safety and to keep the stations running smoothly. Your kitchen might get a little messy, but remember to relax and have fun. Everyone loves a baking party!
