Something to Remember Changing can be a threatening experience. You have to fight for it! -‐  Excerpt from Advance! Workbook

Skills for Restora9on In the restora9on process, when we recognize the unhelpful messages we have opportuni9es to agree with them or not. Changing them and the power they have over us requires that we make a conscious effort to internalize the good, healthy and empowering messages. -‐ from Advance!

What’s the difference between recovery and restora,on?

“Recovery provides liberty from symptoms.

Restora,on provides freedom from the cause of the symptoms. Recovery teaches that you are powerless to overcome and leaves you dependent on a program. Restora,on teaches that you have power and provides a framework for reconnec,ng to your authen,c iden,ty where your power lies. Restora,on is NOT just another new word for recovery. Restora,on is a new paradigm providing a framework to reconnect to who you were created capable of being. That’s where your power is!” -‐-‐Advance Core skill development to move forward in the Restora,on Process. Connec, ons: A Safe Place – 2010

To internalize means to make a part of ones own paNern of thinking and believing. Rising above the messages, disengaging from them and figh9ng back is not an easy task. Internalizing is crucial to developing safe and healthy rela9onships. If we don’t internalize posi9ve messages our rela9onships are in danger of becoming stagnate and/or unhealthy. The Swords will Contend by John Dickerson. Behold the sword devised against the swell of the enemy’s ,de. I rose to contend but was hindered inside. I lay hold of the stones in my well and I threw them aside. I forgave my offenders and then I rose up to fight. Come those who thirst deep inside, and the swords, will collide. The swords will contend in the mid heaven stride. My fight begins with the enemies lies. Ps. Forgiveness does not mean leang the offender of the hook, but leang go of the damage in exchange of who you truly are.
