Have you checked that your smoke alarms are up to date with the current standards? If not, you only have 9 months left. If you own an investment property, or are thninking of buying one don’t forget that you will not be able to legally rent out your property if the smoke alarms are not compliant by 1st January 2022. The following additional measures, along with related electrical work, must be in place from January 1, 2022 for Queensland rental properties. Smoke alarms must be installed in every bedroom of a home. 1. All smoke alarms must be powered by either 240v or 10-year lithium battery. 2. All smoke alarm must be interconnected. 3. All smoke alarms must be photoelectric rather than ionisation. 4. All smoke alarms must meet new Australia Standard 3786:2014.

Go and check out the LOW+SLOW BBQ Saturday Session from 11am until 3pm on April 24th, featuring platters of succulent low and slow barbecued meats and sides, served in the great outdoors at peaceful Arkarra Gardens. Each platter is a feast for one, and includes the following - 12 hour Low 'n' Slow BBQ'ed Brisket, Pulled Pork Collar Butt with Chef's special sauce, Crispy Crackling Pork Belly, Mac'n'Cheese, Sweet corn bread, Crunchy slaw, Pickled vegetables, Rainbow sauce, & fries. They’ll also have a bugler playing the Last Post in the gardens for everyone, and the opportunity to salute the Anzacs with a rum and milk cocktail. A fully stocked bar with craft beers, wines, bubbles and cocktails will be in full swing. The full Arkarra menu will also be available all day, so all your favourite Arkarra dishes including Hervey Bay seafood, vegetarian and gluten-free meals will be available to order off the menu.
