CLIENT-FOCUSED GROWTH AND NEW PATHS TO FORESEE
Acting in the competitive global automotive sector is a huge challenge, especially for a young and innovative brand like Volare, but all our efforts and dedication have begun to be rewarded. We will end the year with significant growth, mainly internationally, and the most striking is that it has been achieved by getting closer to our most important audience, the customer, especially the micro and the small carrier. After three difficult years with low-demand, we have once again grown and achieved our best performance and record market share. We maintained our historical share in the total market with more than 50%, and we expanded our international performance for the second consecutive year. It is true that, due to the shrinkage of the Brazilian market, we are still far from the record levels of production and sales of the years 2013 and 2014, but slowly, and focusing on what is important for our customer, we will continue to grow and expand the presence of the brand in Brazil and abroad. 4
EDITORIAL
Volare Business Director: João Paulo Pohl Ledur This assertive strategy, rescued from the end of 2015 when the bids and the supply for the Pathway to School program diminished, represented our “return to the origins”, main purpose of the creation of the brand. And this highlights another important milestone, the celebration of Volare’s 20th anniversary. In the year that begins, we celebrate our 20th corporate anniversary. From the first units that were precisely developed to attend the demands of the small and micro carrier, a light model for people’s transportation, it became the assembly company of a complete line of vehicles and achieved great success in Brazil and abroad with the production of a line that ranges
from the compact Volare Five and WL, to Escolarbus and the 4x4 versions, counting on more than 60 thousand units sold. To celebrate this important date, Volare will guide you to new roads throughout 2018, promoting transformation and development. From the beginning of the year, we will be introducing great innovations and changes to keep our leading position and to be recognized as innovators, focusing on your business and growth. We invite you to come with us in this journey that starts here, with the Volare Club edition, bringing news specially made for you and that drive us to work even harder. Enjoy and be part of this transformation with us.

Atalaia Noronha - the most traditional receptive services of the island - counts on Volare to provide comfort and safety to tourists planning and logistics of their tours, and Volare has played an important part in this, since the receptive has been using vehicles of the brand since 2000.
COMFORT, SAFETY AND ASSISTANCE Hayrton Almeida, partner of Atalaia Noronha, commented on brand reliability and its latest investment: the acquisition of the innovative Volare Five for the transfers in the archipelago. “Currently, Atalaia has five micro-buses and one Volare Five in Noronha. We renew our fleet every three to four years and we are already in the fourth generation of Volare products, a company we have worked with for many years. Volare’s assistance and services provided were the decisive factors of our choice to work with the brand “, says the entrepreneur. The first vehicle focused on the comfort and safety of the passenger and the driver, Volare Five is the combination of a
van and a bus, which resulted in an unprecedented compact for the market, accompanied by a bold and modern look. Almeida points out that Atalaia customers quickly notice the differentials of the product, which is always highly praised for giving confidence to tourists:
“
Comfort, space between the seats, quality and robustness combined with a modern and technological design are the features that our customers and team notice the most, and that makes all the difference for the Luck Group, which values quality in all parts of their business.”
Gustavo Luck, owner of the Luck Group, stresses that Volare Five receptivity has been very good throughout the group network: “We have just received three more vehicles of the same model. We rely on the brand mainly because of its low maintenance, comfort, safety and the Volare service quality. Our customers are very proud of it, but our drivers are the ones that rave about it, because of its drivability.”

AGRIBUSINESS AND MINING EXPANSION PROMOTE INVESTMENT IN THE VOLARE VEHICLES
Despite the crisis in Brazil, the year 2017 was promising for the mining and agribusiness industry, especially for the sugarcane industries, which presented relevant growth rates. In this context, Volare is also presenting good results: due to the positive scenario of the sector, companies are investing in the renewal and increase of their fleets with Volare vehicles in this moment of growth.
SUGARCANE INDUSTRY ON THE RISE According to the National Supply Company (CONAB), sugarcane production in Brazil is expected to reach 694 million tons by the end of 2017, an increase of 4% compared to the 2016 harvest, a year of excellent results for the sector, featuring one of the highest revenues within the industry: BRL$ 52 billion. Brazil is the largest producer and exporter of sugar from sugarcane and it is estimated to increase 18% by the end of 2017 with 39 million tons produced. Sugarcane is also the primary source of the Alcohol used as fuel, which is expected to reach a production of about 27 billion liters until the end of the year. Sugarcane plantations and mills employ more than one million people

SPECIAL INTERVIEW
FOUNDED IN 1970, VIAÇÃO SERTANEZINA HAS BEEN RELYING ON VOLARE VEHICLES FOR MANY YEARS TO PROMOTE ITS BUSINESS GROWTH. Viação Sertanezina, a company based in Sertãozinho in the state of São Paulo, provides employee transportation for five sugarcane mills, except for farmers (Bóias Frias), twenty-four hours a day. The employees are mainly operators, since the whole chain of mills invested in machinery to benefit from qualification, optimization of time, profitability and quality of life for its employees. The good results obtained in the sector allowed the company to invest in the renovation of its fleet
with the acquisition of seven V8L 8450 Rural buses, vehicles specially developed for the circulation on roads with little structure. According to Marcelo Pereira da Costa, general director of Viação Sertanezina, “the vehicles are totally worth, especially because of the diesel fuel savings. They are also well developed and equipped for rough roads and have adequate internal space and the right amount of technology.” Volare was chosen by the company because of its prompt dealership services regarding information, parts and agility in the repair of vehicles. “The great differential of Volare is products that are tailored made to suit clients’ needs. There is no point in investing in cheaper cars and not having assistance and information about what we are getting. These are the reasons for choosing the products of the brand,” highlights the businessman.
SURPLUS IN THE MINING SECTOR Raising US$ 11.5 billion during the first half of this year, the mineral sector accounted for 21% of all sales of the country in the foreign market. According to data from the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the extremely positive performance of Brazil is mainly due to the iron ore’s sales, whose market value has also increased, causing the product to be 44% of all mineral sector foreign trade in Brazil. The gold exports also stood out, reaching US$ 1.4 billion in the first half of 2017.
NOVALUZ, A VOLARE PARTNER, HAS STRONG PARTICIPATION IN THE ORE SECTOR SINCE 1997. Following the rise of the ore market, Novaluz, a company from Itabira, Minas Gerais, that provides services to companies in the segment, has opted for Volare vehicles to upgrade its fleet, acquiring six V8L
4x4 cars. It works in the recovery and rehabilitation of degraded areas, production and planting of trees and shrub saplings, plant suppression, top soil removal, vegetation cover with hydrosedeeding and manual sowing, plant blanket application, macrophytes’ mechanical withdrawal in dams and reservoirs, construction of firebreaks (manual and mechanized), and elaboration and execution of technical environmental projects. Serving three mining companies in the region, it has advanced concepts of socio-environmental responsibility, which are part of the company’s routine. Recently, Novaluz has been working on the environmental rehabilitation of degraded areas with the rupture of the Barragem do Fundão dam, popularly known as the Mariana’s Disaster. According to Miguel Bretas, Director of Novaluz, “the experience with Volare’s 4X4 is surprising
because as we work in the mining area of the forest, we need to reach inhospitable places that do not even have roads or extremely badly structured roads. We need a 4x4 vehicle because our challenge is taking our team of 100 workers to where the machines are, which can take up to six hours per day.“ According to him, the vehicles are facilitating the routine of the company and the workers. “4X4 traction is essential where we are driving and with Volare vehicles it is easy to activate it, they also have internal space that fits our demand in the right way, carrying 19 passengers at a time, as well as easy maintenance. In addition, the company delivers ready buses that are customized according to the company demands, which is a great advantage. Without these vehicles, it would not be possible to know the contracted demands,“ he points out.

CONSISTENT GROWTH
AUTODATA PERSPECTIVES 2018 CONGRESS POINTS OUT SUSTAINABLE AND GRADUAL GROWTH FOR NEXT YEAR
In the end of October, the main executives and representatives of entities of the Brazilian auto industry participated of the AutoData Perspectives 2018 Congress in São Paulo. The most important consensus among all is that the national automotive sector has started to grow again and the scenario presents a steady sales growth in the domestic and in the exports market. In Antonio Megale’s opinion - the president of Anfavea (National Association of Automobile Manufacturers) - in 2018, a series of economic factors will collaborate to keep sales as it has been this year.
10
POINT OF VIEW
“
In the automobile industry we expect the exports to represent good part of the production, and some investments are being made so that the truck market will be a hot topic again
Employment levels, income and debt still worry the entity, and according to Megale, it is still necessary to focus on the reforms planned by the government as tools to improve these issues within the economic framework. “As regarding public policies, the industry is still in constant
dialogue with the government. The construction of Route 2030 is another way of approaching interests “.
More expressive reactions in the bus industry only next year The AutoData Congress showed that in the bus sector the resumption has already started, but in a very timid way. According to the executives of the main automakers, bus sales in the Brazilian market are expected to close the year with numbers similar to those in 2016, when 11.2 thousand units were sold. Therefore, Gilberto Vardânega,
Volvo commercial director of the bus segment, defined 2017 as “a lost year”. By 2018, industry executives expect results of 10% to 15% higher. Despite expectations of double-digit growth, Gustavo Serizawa, the marketing manager of Iveco Bus in Latin America; Walter Barbosa, director of bus sales for Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, and Jorge Carrer, MAN executive bus sales manager, agree with Volvo’s Vadânega. For them, the market shows signs of recovery but is still far from ideal. As Serizawa said:
“
We can even reach double digits next year, but the base is still very weak
According to them, the ideal annual sales number ranges from 18,000 to 22,000 units. To increase sales the executives
listed a number of challenges that need to be overcome. One of them is the recovery of the investment power of urban passenger transport companies, which depends on the fare value to make operations healthy. According to Barbosa, from Mercedes-Benz, “there is a huge economic and financial imbalance in the concession contracts that needs to be solved, and this is a public authorities’ obligation.” Carrer, from MAN, believes in the idea that there is a repressed demand for bus purchases because of the increase in operating costs that were not passed to the fares value: “The exchange of technology for Euro 5, inflation closes to 10% and other factors made the operation more expensive while fares remained frozen.” Other challenges are the reduction of the unemployment rate, which reached an index of over 12%, political instability and lack of credit. For Carrer
“there is a complicated vicious cycle, which affects the system as a whole”. However, in the opinion of the executives, the scenario is more positive than negative as the macroeconomic outlook shows signs of recovery. According to Barbosa, from Mercedes-Benz, the list includes items such as GDP growth, controlled inflation, reduction of SELIC rate, improvement of Refrota (Pro-Transportation Program credit line), bidding for São Paulo concession contracts, renewal of the road bus market and consolidation of the school market. Executives believe that if the 2018 numbers as a matter of fact take place, in five or six years the bus market in Brazil will return to a sustainable level, which represents for Iveco, MercedesBenz and Volvo 20,000 vehicles per year, on average. A little more optimistic, Carrer, from MAN, believes that the market can reach 25 thousand vehicles per year, on average.
POINT OF VIEW
11
Jorge Carrer: MAN Buses Sales Director - Gustavo Serizawa: Iveco Bus Product Marketing Manager - Gilberto Vadânega: Volvo Bus President
Refrota might be the solution Launched at the end of last year as a way to expand bus sales, Refrota, the credit line from Caixa Econômica Federal bank, did not have the desired effects at the beginning of the year. After severe criticism to the financial operator, now, automaker executives see it as a solution. Barbosa, from Mercedes-Benz, recalled that at the beginning of the year the SELIC rate was 13% per year and that “due to the bank’s lack of experience in the transportation sector, the Refrota took time to prove its worth.” In addition, Vadânega, from Volvo, stated that “The negative context also influenced the sales”. Positive Scenario for Credit Release for financial institutions such as the banks Itaú, Bradesco and Banco Moneo of Marcopolo, the scenario is favorable for the credit market and the consumer may enjoy this “feast” in the assignment of funds for the acquisition of buses and vehicles in general. For Itaú bank, the undercurrency is of a higher demand of vehicles. Falling interest rates and controlled inflation are factors that have impacted the economic outlook of this year, forming a favorable scenario for the credit market, generating a trend of disbursements in 2018 and, therefore, a reflection on vehicle sales. According to Fernando Machado Gonçalves, an economist at Banco Itaú, in 2017, the positive performance of the economy only achieved the industry expectations.
12
POINT OF VIEW
“
A favorable scenario for the credit market has been set up throughout the country, which is expected to grow in 2018. However, in order to create important reflexes in the automotive industry, reform approvals are necessary. In this context, next year will not be better, because it is an election year. The economist’s perspective is that the labor reform approval process, considered the most urgent for the country to return to grow in several sectors, will be finalized in 2019. Only then it will be possible to predict in an assertive way how the industry will behave in the long term: “Whoever the president elected next year is, they should deal with the labor reform so that companies can have more predictability in their businesses.” Although Gonçalves considers that 2018 will be marked by the elections and how they will reflect in business is unknown, he believes that the period will be marked by larger cuts in the SELIC rate: “Today we have a cut of 6.5% rate. The lowest interest we had in Brazil was 7.25%. It is likely that at least this barrier will be already broken in 2018, which will be beneficial to the resumption of investments.”

ADVANTAGEOUS AND INTERESTING FOR THE SMALL AND MICRO The director-superintendent of Banco Moneo, Oliver D’Haese, goes even further. In his viewpoint, the trend is the strong comeback of financing with advantages for the micro and small business owner. “The TLP is a fantastic product and BNDES (Brazilian Bank for Development) continues to be a great partner, safely providing total support for the Brazilian businessman. Although in this first moment the new rate is not seen as very attractive and advantageous, in the first half of 2018 the opinions will change, especially regarding the advantages it provides to the

According to him, the businessman is going to be protected because he will know how much will be paid until the end. “The installment “fits in the pocket” and it will not change until the end, which is a key factor for the consumer. Furthermore, with more than 40 years experience in the market, BNDES has always protected and provided support to the Brazilian industry providing attractive credit lines for working capital, for example.” Banco Moneo has been strongly performing in the transportation
segment and the institution has been seen as a specialist and excellent partner for the others in the field. “We have made partnerships with other banks, enabling important businesses and efficiently serving our clients that often need the release of credit to leverage their businesses,” explains the superintendent. In the specific case of Volare, Moneo has invested a lot to better serve the brand’s customers. “We have created an exclusive service team and today, more than half of the vehicle sales are financed by the bank, including used ones”, emphasizes Oliver.

PRESENT AT TRANSPÚBLICO TRADE FAIR FOR THE FIRST TIME Volare exhibits 100% electric model and virtual reality Volare was present at the Transpúblico trade fair for the first time and presented Volare.e, a 100% electric bus which is unique in its category all over the world. The vehicle was developed in partnership with BYD, a company that is the world leader in developing powertrain for electric vehicles. The fair also exhibited vehicles focused on urban public transportation such as the W9 SP Trans models that were developed within the Sptrans standards, combining robustness, economy and comfort for transportation in the urban region of São Paulo, as well as Volare Access, the first mini-bus in the Brazilian market with lowered floor, equipped with rear engine and “Full Air” air suspension. Another highlight at the fair was the virtual reality glasses, which allows visitors to explore the senses and interact with the vehicle of high standard of sophistication, suitable for the actions of receptive tourism and business. With this
feature, it is possible to visit the factory in a trip throughout Espirito Santo as well as the models of the brand.
VOLARE WL EXECUTIVE IS TAKEN TO FRESP 2017 Mini bus offers greater comfort for up to 36 passengers. Volare WL Executive - the largest and most sophisticated model of the brand - was presented at the 18th Meeting of the Freight and Tourism Companies (Fresp). Developed with the
most innovative technologies in the world, it has many differentials such as the largest capacity to carry passengers in the market (36 people), interior space, design, functionality and versatility, as well as features such as the maneuverability, mobility and low consumption of a small vehicle. With executive seats with soft seating, it accommodates passengers with maximum comfort and has a large baggage claim with rear and side access doors for better accessing this compartment. “The Freight and Tourism sector segment is increasing every day, and we are committed to presenting innovative products that value the comfort and safety of passengers. The Volare WL Executive is a differentiated vehicle that provides greater comfort and practicality to users with benefits for the fleet owner, “explains Sidnei Vargas da Silva, Volare commercial manager for the domestic market.
VOLARE FIRE IS PRESENTED AT SENABOM AND FIPIE Volare Fire was a real success due to its new form of firefighting. The vehicle was presented at the XVII National Firemen’s Seminar - SENABOM and FIPIE - International Fire and Emergency Prevention Fair, held in November 2017. In compliance with the NFPA (National Special Protection Association), It is the only micro bus approved for firefighting and rescue operations in a fast, efficient and practical way, with improved tangency of maneuvering, facilitating access to places where larger vehicles cannot reach. The model is perfectly suited to a BTR vehicle (auto rescue tank), counting on a cabin with capacity for a driver and four occupants, with the possibility
of increasing this capacity in accordance with the customer’s request. Its cabin is fully airconditioned, and it has a triplerow oxygenation device, which can provide oxygen for three people simultaneously, instead of needing an ambulance for this procedure maximizing the rescue time and maintenance of life in the first aid procedures. This system was integrated inside the front cabin for the treatment of fighters as well. It has a monitoring system integrated to the cabin with four cameras. One of these cameras is in the front, one in the rear and two on the sides. The images are transmitted online and recorded in internal HD, in case there is a need for service verification.
ON THE ROAD The state of Pará already has a Volare Fire circulating in the combat of fires, and many other states are already interested in this special model. Volare Club talked with Lieutenant Colonel Marcus Victor Lima Norat, the operations commander of Pará about the vehicle’s performance and he pointed out: “We paraded this vehicle at Firefighter Week and in several other events in the state. The vehicle surprised us, we had known it during SENABOM and it has perfectly met our demands by being a two in one: combat and rescue and being able to be adapted for dangerous products and equipment. In this way, it enables the response time, which is essential when fighting fire.”

BUS WORLD THE BIGGEST B2B BUS AND COACH EXHIBITION IN THE WORLD, IN BELGIUM, REVEALS TRENDS AND PERSPECTIVES OF THE SECTOR FOR THE YEARS TO COME.
BUSES AND COLLECTIVE SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT THE 24TH EDITION OF BUSWORLD EUROPE IN BELGIUM HAS DEMONSTRATED ITS IMPORTANCE
While in Brazil the importance of buses for mobility as well as for environmental pollution and sustainable transport has been discussed without major advances, Kortrijk, Belgium, hosted the 24th edition of Busworld Europe. It is the largest and world’s most important exhibition in the bus industry. This year, in the Kortrijk Xpo Convention Center, there were 376 exhibitors from 36 countries in an area of 51,230 m². Leading companies in the transportation industry from all over the world presented the latest innovations in products, services and solutions for the further development and use of the bus as a sustainable means of transportation. A total of 311 vehicles were displayed ranging from micro-buses to doubledecker urban and coach models.
20
SECTOR TRENDS
This year edition represented a significant shift in the global bus industry, focusing on the pursuit of zero emissions and the commercial application of autonomous vehicles. There is a strong political demand in all European countries for the immediate adoption of urban buses with zero or very low emissions. The technologies available are varied and depend on the manufacturers’ strategy, ranging from 100% electric to hybrids or gas powered among other clean alternatives; their use will increase dramatically in the coming years. Autonomous driving is another real theme and it is closer than imagined by people in Latin America. Several vehicles have been introduced (with test drive availability) and there are a number of ongoing tests around the world, such as the MercedesBenz Citaro, an autonomous bus that is already in use. The 2017 edition of Busworld Europe was the last one held in Kortrijk. From 2019 onwards,
the event will be transferred to Brussels for one important reason: the bus and its role in sustainable transport is increasing relevance every year in Europe and in the main markets of the world, such as Asia and North America. More than 70 companies couldn’t participate in this year edition due to lack of space in Kortrijk Xpo. More than 35,000 visitors from around 100 countries visited the latest launches and technologies to make collective bus transportation cleaner, more comfortable, smarter, safe and efficient. In addition to the 100% electric buses and clean diesel engines, this year event highlighted evolving trends or advanced tests such as applications and technologies that make it easier for passengers to locate places, use bus services and pay their for their travel. Devices such as smart cards and mobile phone applications make it quicker and easier to use buses. They make a significant contribution to reducing the
time spent on stoppages and the collection of fees. This, in turn, makes bus services faster and more attractive to passengers. The equipment, components and supply segments will present new products compatible with low and zero emission buses. Belgium invests in green buses and the two largest operators in the country have announced that they will only renew their fleets of urban and intercity services with low emission or zero vehicles. They have recently introduced more than 300 hybrid electric units with fast charging systems. At each end of a route, buses receive a fast load of approximately five minutes, which corresponds to 60% of the energy required for the journey. The Busworld Europe (Kortrijk), the largest bus exhibition in the world, has been held since 1971. It is dedicated exclusively to the bus industry and does not involve other types of commercial vehicles or other modes of transport.
SECTOR TRENDS
21
THE VISION OF THE BRAZILIAN SPECIALISTS Many Brazilian executives and professionals from the bus industry were present in Kortrijk. The engineering director of Marcopolo and Volare, Luciano Ricardo Resner, and the manager of Strategy and Innovation, Petras Amaral Santos were present at the event. For Luciano Resner, this year’s hightlight was up to Electric and Hybrid Bus solutions, such as “fast charge” solutions. Chargers along the route apply a quick recharge of 2 to 3 minutes. This new trend reduces the size of the batteries installed in the vehicle and consequently the weight and the costs, offering unlimited autonomy, since the recharge of the batteries occurs during the entire route. “Some challenges still have to be overcome as the costs of implementing the fast charge station are high and involve strong infrastructure in the cities and municipalities that have adopted.
THE SOLUTION IN EUROPE Looking at our markets in South America and developing countries, the Hybrid vehicle solution seems very interesting because 22
SECTOR TRENDS
it enables significant reduction in implementation costs and unlimited autonomy, since the vehicle uses combustion engines to recharge the batteries that are lighter”, emphasizes Resner. According to him, even some European markets have been adopting Hybrid solutions as a bridge until achieving high autonomy battery cost reductions.
“
Within the segment of Electric and Hybrid, we should anticipate the emergence of new players in the market, threatening the traditional chassis assemblers with combustion engines
For Petras Amaral, the highlight was the “boom” of electric and hybrid options. “With a shyer participation in recent editions, in 2017 these technologies increased the diversity of options, from micro to articulated 18m, as well as the offer of components ranging from batteries to charging stations. The choice of propulsion technology depends on both the legislation and the type of line being customized according to the operation, “says Petras.
Another trend in Europe highlighted by the executive is the combination of Fast Charge technologies with low floor articulated buses, because besides zero emissions, they also carry a greater number of passengers, hour-sensing, with accessibility and internal space similar to a tram. With aesthetic attributes similar to trains, there are solutions from brands such as Irizar and Van Hool, as well as Solaris and VDL articulated solutions. “On coaches the highlight was the presentation of the new Lions Coach of MAN. The launch did not show very bold lines, but maintained the good level of finishing and functionality which were characteristic from the previous model. Setra introduced its new Double Decker, now aligned with the DNA of the Top Class family, “said Petras Amaral. In this year edition, Busworld also offered a vast presence of suppliers with technological innovations in the areas of component weight reduction, on board entertainment solutions, fleet monitoring and telemetry, as well as new technologies in customized print floor coverings which will open new possibilities to customers.
VOLARE ELECTRIC COMPLETES 90 DAYS OF TRIAL IN SANTOS
The coastal city of Santos has become a practical laboratory for the application of new technologies to reduce pollution in large urban centers. Since the end of August, the first 100% electric Volare has run through its main streets and avenues, transporting people within a new concept, totally focused on environmental preservation, comfort, safety and accessibility. The vehicle draws people’s attention not only because of its technological innovations, zero noise and pollutant emissions, but also for its bold look and differentiated painting design which refers to nature,
environmental preservation and sustainable and conscientious transportation. The model, developed in partnership with BYD, is being used by Viação Piracicaba, a transport operator in the city of São Paulo, on the route between Praça Mauá downtown, one of Santos postcard pictures, and the Gonzaga neighborhood. According to Alceu Cremonesi Junior, the director of Viação Piracicabana, since the beginning of the operation, passengers have been stopping by to get to know the bus and take photos next to the vehicle.
“
The 100% electric vehicle is a novelty in public transportation in Brazil, therefore, drawing attention wherever it goes. The decision for the acquisition of a 100% electric bus represents Piracicabana’s commitment to technology advances, since we have always been pioneers in the use and introduction of new technologies, emphasizes Cremonesi.
According to the executive, the first 90 days of operation were a success and the vehicle proved to be efficient and features important differentials for passengers, such as low floor, air suspension, total accessibility and zero pollutant emissions. “It is silent, has air-conditioning system, comfortable seats and also provides panoramic views because of its large size windows. Drivers have also appreciated it because it has excellent drivability, “explains Cremonesi.
“
It is very important to evaluate the results in the operation of a 100% electric vehicle, because our operation in Santos is very demanding and we need buses that attend all our customers needs. We are still collecting information and analyzing the results, which should be released after circa of six months of circulation
Innovative and eyecatching vehicle draws attention wherever it goes
Recharge being performed at night, which can be done in just three hours, the 100% electric Volare is in operation for most of the day and during peak periods between 6:45 and 8:00 p.m. without recharging. Small in size (9.095mm length, 2985mm height and 2360mm width), it is ideal for the use in urban centers as it offers more interior space with capacity for 45 passengers (20 seating and 25 standing). The configuration and positioning of the batteries and the powertrain provide maximum efficiency (90 kW power and 450 Nm maximum torque), and reduction of operating costs and total weight (one of the great challenges of electric vehicles for passenger transportation). To make the use of energy more efficient, Volare electric counts with a braking energy regenerative system.

VOLARE NATIONAL LAYAWAY PLAN AN EXCELLENT OPTION FOR VEHICLE ACQUISITION
Created in 2004 and managed by Randon Consórcios (Randon Layaway Plans), a branch that belongs to the Randon group and is specialized in the financing business, Volare National Layaway Plans was born as an economic and flexible credit alternative, so fleet owners could program the expansion or renewal of their fleets and pay for the investment in instalments that are adjustable to the investment capacity of the buyer. It is present nationwide

through the manufacturer’s dealership network, combining economy, planning and other advantages of the layaway plan in the acquisition of the most complete mini-bus line in the market. In 2017, it became one of the most common ways of minibuses commercialization. According to Antonio Carlos Ruffato, the Commercial Executive of the Volare National Layaway Plan, “it
is an excellent option, both for the autonomous professionals as well as fleet owners. Among the advantages, we emphasize that it is a way to plan the expansion or renewal of the fleet without decapitalizing, maintaining a constant investment in the business with lower financial costs. That is because the layaway plan operates as programmed savings, offering a very attractive management fee when compared to other credit options.”
CHALLENGES MEAN OPPORTUNITIES The layaway plan has always played an important role in fostering sales and purchases of production assets, and with the crisis affecting several sectors of the economy, it was an attractive credit option for those who plan their investments towards economy and safety. The Volare National Layaway Plan has grown since 2016 and there is a positive expectation regarding 2018. “In 2016, we had a stable sales performance, adding 280.5 thousand active participants as according to data from the Brazilian Association of Layaway Plan Administrators (ABAC). During that period, we had more than BRL$ 8 million new memberships, generating a portfolio for the future sale of Volare products, and we consider it a good result. In 2017, the result was even better - up to October we recorded more than BRL$ 9 million in commercial loans and BRL$ 8.8 million in credit contemplated for the acquisition of goods,” Ruffato points out. And by 2018, we expect a slight growth when compared to 2017, since according to data from the ABAC the market grew by 7.1% in quotas sold compared to the same period in 2016.
“
We know people are wary of making new financial commitments, but the layaway plan is a flexible credit alternative for the customer.
Flexibility is the big differential. With a balanced search between autonomous professionals and fleet owners of all sizes, the Volare National Layaway Plan is the perfect opportunity for those who have the habit of financial planning, making their purchases without needing to have the vehicle immediately. According to Ruffato, with plans that cover the brand’s entire line of vehicles, the layaway plan is easily adaptable to the needs of the buyer: “when joining a plan, the client chooses the credit and when it is granted they decide which Volare product they will acquire. In addition, the customer can also change the credit for more or less before the money is granted, according to their needs. This flexibility is one of the main advantages of the layaway plan to the customer. “
