Brash, outspoken, and atheist Shanker (Raaj Kumar) lives in a small village with his son, Mohan, and his devout wife, Durga (Mala Sinha), who is expecting another child soon. Shanker and Durga are incompatible, as Shanker believes in living for the moment, and making the most of it, while Durga believe that present actions will come back to haunt later in life, and as a result arguments take place daily. One day Shanker decides to leave and takes Mohan with him, leaving a pregnant Durga alone. Subsequently, Durga gives birth to a baby boy, Ajay, and re-locates to another place. She is looked after by a Catholic priest. Shanker and Mohan take to crime in the big city, and soon amass a huge fortune. They operate a crime syndicate, partnering with Keshavlal, a notorious gangster. Ajay operates a publication called Karmayogi, in which he publishes news and information about crime and criminals, and does an expose on Keshavlal.

idowed Govindi lives a poor life in Haripur along with two sons, Gungaram (Dilip Kumar) and Jumna (Nasir Khan). While Jumna is studious, Gungaram is the opposite, but has a good heart and decides to use his earnings to ensure his brother gets a decent education. After her employer, Hariram, accuses Govindi of theft, their house is searched, evidence is found, she is arrested, the entire village bails her out, but the shock kills her. After her passing, Gungaram works for Hariram while Jumna goes to the city to study. During the course of his studies, he is forced to sell off all his belongings when Gungaram fails to provide him with any funds. He does continue to study, and after completing them becomes a police officer. He is then given his first assignment, which is none other than in Haripur itself, and it is here that he will be forced to confront Gungaram, who is now an ex-convict, jailed for theft, and now is the leader of a dreaded band of killer bandits. aal (The Time of Doom) is a 2005 horror film. It is directed by Soham Shah, who also wrote its dialogue and screenplay. Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan produced the movie. The movie is based around the story of a wildlife expert, his wife and a group of friends who battle against supernatural creatures in the fictional Orbit National Park for their lives. It stars Ajay Devgan, John Abraham, Vivek Oberoi, Lara Dutta and Esha Deol. It has Shahrukh Khan in a cameo role in the beginning of the film until the intermission. Two British Nationals are killed by a ferocious tiger in Orbit Park. This incident follows several other incidents, and many deaths result, prompting a National Geographic correspondent, Krish Thapar (John Abraham), and his sexy photographer, Riya (Esha Deol), to take a trip to this park and ascertain what really happened. A group of youngsters, Dev Malhotra (Vivek Oberoi), Ishika (Lara Dutta), Bagga (Vinit Kumar), and Vishal (Vishal Malhotra), on a thrill and hunting trip also arrive in the hope of sighting and shooting some big prey. Both Thapar and Malhotra groups meet with each other, and seek the guidance of a local called Kaali ( Ajay Devgan) after he saves them from a tiger attack.

The cruise promises lots of fun. Jaspal Bhatti is household Indian television personality famous for his satirical take on the woes and problems of the common man. He is most well known for his television series Flop Show and mini capsules ulta pulta which featured on the national network in India in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Bhatti's film school 'Mad Arts' has come up with a non-commercial eight-minute film, 'Sydney Chala Sydney' to highlight the dilemma of families whose children are either already studying in Australia or are planning to go there. Jaspal Bhatti graduated from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh as an electrical engineer. He was famous for his street plays like Nonsense Club during his college days. Johnny Kalsi, Dhol drummer set out to teach the art of playing the Dhol to students and give them a chance to learn professionally. The Dhol is a traditional North Indian instrument made from a large wooden shell played with cane on one side and a hard curved stick on the other. Vibrant and loud, the infectious beats rush through the sound of electronica elements together with folk traditions of song and dance of the Punjab. The class became a huge success and grew to a larger level. Today The Dhol Foundation is not just a school of drummers, it's a Dhol Drumming troupe and 13 piece band complete with guitars and jazz drums infused with traditional Punjabi instruments like Tumbi, Alghozey and traditional Indian vocals. The Dhol Foundation is now both a dhol drum Institute in London and an incredible group playing Bhangra music. e guess he's called King Khan for a reason. Everything about superstar Shah Rukh Khan's next film Ra.One, which is touted to be one of the most expensive Hindi films ever, is being described as 'king size', be it action, music or budget. And just when the media was digesting news that his superhero rubber suit in the movie will cost Rs 1 crore, SRK clarifies the real cost of the suit is much, much more. Says Khan, "I keep reading in the papers that my costume is a million rupee costume. But it's actually a million dollar costume that's four-and-a-half crore rupees per costume. And there's not one costume, there are 20 such!" That puts the cost of just the costumes of the movie at Rs 100 crore, which reads like an unlikely figure. When asked about the budget of the movie, Khan plays it down by shifting focus instead on to the 'simple' story of the movie, "Ra.One is a very real film, although it is in the genre of superhero-meets-genie in a bottle. I have tried not to keep it over-thetop or too 'dialoguey'. It has real situations and authentic dialogue."

People who have seen the film say that in both the scenes the actors are very intimate to each other and share very passionate kisses. KUNAL KAPOOR will be weighing 25 kg heavier to look like a superhero in Anurag Kashyap's next To begin with, he says, like all normal guys, he has dated a lot of girls, has been through his share of relationships and flings. But currently, is single. And doesn't know where he will be and what he will be doing next week, so no work strategies - just wants to keep acting, simply coz he enjoys it. How much enjoyment so far? So far it's been good. I got a chance to be a part of a film like "RDB"; something that doesn't happen to many people so early on in their career. I'm in a good place right now. I've no regrets. Though I'm sure if I'm asked 10 years later, I will give a whole list of all the films I've regretted. But being an outsider, I've got a fair amount of chance to experiment and for me, it was very important to try out different things when I started, whether it was playing the sloppy guy in "Laaga Chunari Mein…", the serious guy in "Lamhaa", the earnest chap in "Rang De", or an absurd person in "Hattrick". It's given me a chance to find what I really wanted to. What do you really want to do? The work that I am doing right now. Post "Lamhaa", that phase of trying to find myself is over, and everything I start from now on, or for that matter the movies that I am doing now, are things that I really want to do. Like doing Sameer Sharma's (a new director) romantic comedy. You haven't been doing comedies… Well, I never got a chance to do that. The sad part is that every time people see me, they think either I have had a bad childhood or I'm schizophrenic. So they offer me parts that are slightly dark or serious. So I gotta play roles like I'm going to kill somebody violently or so. Fortunately, this phase is over. I now get to play parts that are edgier and a

bit grey. So now, I'll enjoy even more. But people think that you're someone who doesn't want to sing and dance, passionately romance a girl, or crack jokes on screen… I don't mind singing, dancing, rolling down mountains, running around trees… though I'm really bad at it. However, I can't suddenly start doing some random stuff in the middle of a serious scene. So it's got to be something that fits into the story. It can't be a film on Kashmir and suddenly you are rolling down a mountain, singing poetry to a pretty babe. I don't want that, bas. Are you waiting for that big break to happen?

Not really. When you start focusing on where you want to be and the next hit and how much your next movie should collect at the BO, it kills the joy of being an actor. Do you like being called 'unconventional'? (Laughs) I don't know what it exactly is to be unconventional. I think unconventional is good these days. But when I started off, it wasn't so. Directors who offered me films, suggested that I should look a certain way, coz they think that there's a particular look for Hindi film actors and that's how I should look like. I think the most important thing for an actor is your personality and if someone wants you to change that, then you have lost the battle! If you say 'This is how I look' or 'I'm not going to change myself', is it a problem? I don't have problems changing myself for a particular look/role in a movie. But if they say you should look like this as a 'Hindi film hero' or 'You should look like a certain Hindi film hero', that doesn't go down well with me. What have you been told - a bit in detail? Filmmakers have approached me, saying they want the hair to stay. I remember Pradeep Sarkar saying to me, "My character is slightly unkempt, slightly laid back, and he is a bit unconventional. Umm.. So I don't want you to do anything, just be yourself." (Laughs) At that time, I didn't know if it was an insult or a compliment. I wasn't certain, really. Apart from that, casually, I am usually told that I always look as if I just got out of the bed, so what can I do about it (laughs again).

covery. Seek professional advice before changing a breastfed baby's feeding routine. For babies on formula, lactose free infant formulas are available, but should be used under medical supervision. Foods to avoid and ingredients to look for: Cow's milk, milk solids, caseinate, some yoghurts (however most yoghurts are tolerated due to the bacteria in the yoghurt breaking down the lactose), ice cream, soft white cheeses, dairy desserts and other prepared foods containing milk are high in lactose and should be avoided. As dairy products should be avoided with lactose intolerance, care needs to be taken to ensure your child's diet contains enough calcium (seek the advice from a healthcare professional). For toddlers (over 12 months old) and older children, a calcium fortified soy or rice milk (containing at least 100mg calcium per 100ml) or a lactose free milk can replace cow's milk. alman Khan is the blood and flesh of 'Dabangg' as he in his Dabangg (fearless) style flaunts his Robin Hood-like avatar. If you were awed by the suspense and racy feel of the stylish 'Wanted', then this film is a must watch for you. It may not have the freshness and the touchĂ&#x2C6; of an Aamir Khan but Salman has been receiving rave reviews for his brawny, laidback performance. Salman, as corrupt inspector Chulbul Pandey, is venomous with a power so immense that he thunders and spellbinds the viewers. Besides, Salman's starry aura, the film boasts of smashing stunts and dancefloor-rocking music. Malaika Arora in 'munni badnaam hui' is awesome and foot-tapping. The fights, especially, the one in the climax is mind-boggling. Sonakshi Sinha in her debut is good and gains highly from Salman's infectious onscreen energy. Salman, in the film, shines brilliantly and the role seems tailor-made for him. The storyline may not be a revelation but it's fully entertaining stuff. Without a shadow of a doubt, the film is destined for an earth-shattering explosive opening and the box office rattling shall surely reiterate Salman as the darling of the masses.

Malaika Arora in 'munni badnaam hui' is awesome and foot-tapping. The fights, especially, the one in the climax is mind-boggling

s is typical of a Karan Johar film, We Are Family boasts of lavish backdrops and picturesque settings but is devoid of intensity, so much so that it almost looks superficial. The film starts on an inviting note with delectable cinematography and aesthetics, and even a storyline that gives you a goody-goody feeling. But as it builds up further, it begins to get quite insipid as it fails to strike a chord with the audience, due to either the lacklustre screenplay or the overly dramatic turn it takes at every moment. Aman (Rampal) and Maya (Kajol) are a couple divorced amicably enough to jointly take care of their three kids Aliya (Munjal), Ankush (Ginsburg) and Anjali (Sonecha). A crisis unfolds, however, when Aman tries to make his girlfriend Shreya (Kapoor) a part of the children's lives. The children are downright hostile to her and reject her open arms. Tragedy strikes when Maya is diagnosed with a terminal illness. The rest of the film takes you through Shreya's efforts to become a replacement mum. Of course, Kapoor looks stunning and enriches the glam quotient giving less importance to acting while Kajol, mostly seen sans make-up, is laudable as the stereotypical devoted mother. Even

though Rampal looks gaunt and scrawny, his performance as a man torn between the woman he loves and a woman who is the mother of his kids is quite up to snuff. But the life of the film is the youngest child, Anjali, who adds a new dimension to the term 'cute'. Though 'adapted' from the 1998 Hollywood blockbuster Stepmom, We Are Family can be safely branded a reproduction of the Susan Sarandon-Julia Roberts

film with some scenes (and even dialogues) clearly borrowed from it, which makes the experience of watching it bland. It's like watching the Hollywood version tailored in a way that embraces an Indianised flavour, Bollywood tadka, and KJO garnishing. There is nothing in the film that can be spoken of as innovative and the disco song-and-dance sequence is a spoiler because it ruins the solemnity of the situation and reminds you (again!) that you are watching a Bollywood film.

A healthy and delicious biryani with vegetables and rice. Preparation Time : 15-20 minutes Cooking Time : 25-30 minutes Servings : 4

INGREDIENTS Basmati rice, soaked 1 1/2 cups Onions, diced 2 medium Carrots, 1/2 inch pieces 2 medium French beans, 1/2 inch pieces 15 Cauliflower 10-12 florets Green peas, shelled 1 cup Salt to taste Green cardamoms 8 Black cardamom 1 Cloves 15 Cinnamon 1 1/2 inch stick Bay leaf 1 Caraway seeds (shahi jeera) 1/2 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste 1 1/2 tablespoons Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon Coriander powder 1 tablespoon Yogurt 1/2 cup Rose water 1/2 teaspoon Saffron (kesar) a few strands Fresh tomato puree 1 cup Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon Fresh coriander leaves, chopped 2 tablespoons Fresh mint leaves, chopped 2 tablespoons

METHOD

Take a microwave safe deep bowl

Boil rice in four cups of salted boiling water with two green cardamoms, one black cardamom, five cloves, half inch stick of cinnamon, until three-fourth done. Drain excess water and set aside. Heat a non-stick pan. Add the remaining green cardamoms, cloves, black cardamom and cinnamon along with bay leaf and caraway seeds and roast. Add onions, carrot, French beans, cauliflower florets and green peas. Sprinkle salt, cover and cook on medium heat for two minutes. Add ginger-garlic paste mixed with a little water and stir. Cover and cook for two minutes. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder and cook. Whisk yogurt with rose water and saffron. Add a little water or milk and whisk well. Add tomato puree to the vegetables along with half teaspoon garam masala powder and mix well. Simmer for two minutes. Take a microwave safe deep bowl. Arrange a layer of rice at the bottom. Over that arrange half the cooked vegetables followed by another layer of rice. Sprinkle half of the remaining garam masala powder, half the coriander leaves, half the mint leaves and half the yogurt mixture. Arrange the remaining vegetables followed by the remaining rice. Sprinkle the remaining garam masala powder, remaining coriander leaves, remaining mint leaves and the remaining yogurt mixture. Cover with a silicon lid and cook in the microwave oven for four to five minutes on HIGH (100%). Let it stand for five minutes. Serve hot.

It helps correct your system internally, and teaches you how to breathe correctly, the basis of a strong framework. It helps mould your shape and enhances flexibility. I avoid foods and drinks that are preserved in cans. I prefer to follow an organic diet. Breakfast is my largest meal, followed by a light lunch and dinner. I also eat smaller meals every two-three hours and intersperse them with green tea and Earl Grey tea. I nibble at a lot of fruit too. Staying fit mentally is extremely important. Taking a break every now and then helps you recharge your batteries. When I have time, I like to travel. When I can't travel I just turn my phone off. That's a great way to take a break.
